1 PARKSIDE CHRISTIAN CHURCH March 2018 Love God, Love People, Help Others Do The Same Monthly Edition Parkside News CONTRAST CONTINUED CONTRAST. Since the first of the year, that word has become our goal to aim for. We have been seeking the ways in which Christ makes us distinctly different. Are you finding new contrasts in the areas of life we have explored, ways in which you are different from who you were even back in January? Sunday, March 4th we will focus on becoming whatever is needed to persuade our friends toward Christ. Keeping our eyes on the finish line of life, remaining distinctly pure, healing the fractured relationships between men and women that our culture is struggling with right now; these will be our themes in March. Read I Corinthians chapters 9-11 and invite a friend to services as we consider the wonderful distinct difference Christ makes in our lives. Pg. 2 3 Parkside News Sections Parkside Kid s News Easter at Parkside April 1st Pg. 3 Student Ministry Pg. 4-5 Upcoming Events Pg. 6 Sunday Morning Classes Pg. 7 Groups Pg. 8 Local & Global Outreach & Serving Opportunities Pg. 9 Campus News The pinnacle of the calendar year for those who love and follow Christ, is the anniversary Sunday of the day He rose from the dead. Easter! Our commemoration of this destiny-altering event will include a special time of worship on Good Friday, as we ponder the death of Christ. And then a huge celebration on Sunday as we jubilate over the resurrection of Christ. April 1 will be even more special if you will take the opportunity to invite a loved one or friend to come and be with you in one of two morning services. Jesus Christ is risen risen indeed. Come celebrate, and bring a friend.
2 March 2018 PARKSIDE CHRISTIAN CHURCH p 2 PARKSIDE KIDS NEWS March Focus 56 LIVE! In the month of March, our elementary age kids will be focusing on peace. Our key verse is Romans 14:19 So let us do all we can to live in peace. And let us work hard to build up one another. Connect With Us! Don t forget to check out parksidekids.org for information on our events and make sure to connect with us on the Parkside Kids Facebook page! 56 Live will be on Friday, March 2nd from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the West Gym. Drop off is at Door 12. This is for all 5th and 6th grade students and, of course, all the friends you want to bring! The cost is $2 if you will be eating dinner. It is an open gym time, fun devotion, and dinner. This event is always the first Friday night of the month through the school year. After School Wednesday, March 21st will be our next After School event for Kindergarten through 6th grade students. It is from 4-6:00 p.m. and the drop off is around the back of the building at Door 8. The cost is $2 per kid if they will be eating dinner with us. The kids rotate to three stations: kitchen/cooking, crafts, and organized gym games. This event takes place the third Wednesday of the month during the school year. First Look Toddlers-PreK This month we ve GONE FISHIN! It just seems perfect since this month is all about Jesus and how He taught the disciples to be fishers of men. How did they learn to be fishers of men? Well, they followed Jesus! And, we want our preschoolers to know that they can follow Jesus too! This is going to be a wonderful month as we help preschoolers prepare to celebrate the biggest act of love ever known to man... Easter. And when they re old enough to hear Jesus say Follow me, we want them to be ready to say yes!
