3 MISSIONS APRIL MISSIONS SUPPORTING YOUTH PROJECTS IN APRIL Sunday school children and the youth of the church are supporting Heifer International today with a bake sale between second and third services. The Missions Team supports their efforts by designating today s Communion offering to Heifer International. Over the last five years, the youth have raised $4,328 for Heifer International with their annual bake sale. Combined with the $1,067 given by the congregation for April Communion offerings in 2015 and 2016, Heifer International has been able to purchase $5,395 worth of livestock that literally changes lives. Our Sunday school children learn a valuable lesson through their support of Heifer International. The children study and learn about world hunger, and how the cycle of poverty can be broken with the gift of livestock and seeds. One goat, for example, can feed a family and help children go to school. If you would like more information about Heifer International, please see Steve Gregory or visit the website at FOOD BANK Friday, April 21 8:30 am - 10:00 am CHANDLER CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY CENTER Chandler United Methodist Church and Chandler Christian Community Center have been working together to help feed the hungry in Chandler for more than 50 years. CCCC s mission is to change lives by nourishing minds and bodies to create a connected, thriving community. Their vision is to have a healthy and productive community built on a foundation of dignity and hope. Twenty-five (25) volunteers from Chandler UMC are needed each third Friday from 8:30 am-10:00 to help distribute food to those in need at CCCC s facility located at 345 S California Street, Chandler. If you would like to make a difference in our community and join the Missions Team, please contact any member of the Team or the church office or just show up at a meeting! We meet the second Sunday of each month at 11:30 am. * * * * * * * * SPECIAL REQUEST: Chandler Christian Community Center (CCCC) needs volunteers to help distribute perishable foods on the second Friday of every month. We will continue our regular distribution on the third Friday. If you are able to temporarily help fill this need for the second Friday of the month, CCCC will be extremely grateful. Please arrive at CCCC by 8:30 AM. HEIFER PROJECT BAKE SALE The Elementary Sunday school students will hold their 6th Annual Heifer Project Bake Sale on Sunday, April 2 at 10 AM. All funds raised from the bake sale will be used to purchase animals for families living in poverty around the world. Animals like cows, chickens and goats provide food and income to families. Please visit the bake sale to help the students put their faith in action as they work to break the cycle of poverty.
