2 Dear Brother in Christ, About 6 months ago, God began to impress upon several men the need for and benefit of a men s gathering in northwest Missouri. We began to pray and felt led to put together a one-day conference. It is our firm conviction that men, along with women, are made in the image and likeness of God. Moreover, we believe that men and women, while equal, are different and called by God to different roles (Genesis 1-2). This conference aims to stimulate men and young men to faithfulness in their high calling from God. Join us on Saturday, August 19 at Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church in St. Joseph, MO. We will worship and fellowship together. We will be instructed, encouraged, and challenged to be biblical men in our homes, in our churches, and in our world for the glory of God. The cost is $15/person and lunch is included. Men and young men (youth group age) are encouraged to come. We hope to see many generations together! God has blessed us with great speakers and music leader (see enclosed page). 3 Speakers Dr. Ben Awbrey and his wife, Lisa, have two children, Eric and Lauren. He is the professor of preaching at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He received the Doctor of Theology degree from New Orleans Seminary and the Master of Divinity from Southwestern Seminary. Dr. Awbrey s Bachelor of Science degree is from the University of Central Oklahoma, where he also earned a football scholarship, beginning in his freshman year, as a walk-on defensive back. He has written two books on preaching, namely, How Effective Sermons Begin and How Effective Sermons Advance, both with Christian Focus Publications. Jared is a native of Jacksonville, Florida. He began serving as Associate Pastor at Crossway Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri in July of Prior to that, he served as the Minister of Students for nine years at Crossway. He holds a M.Div. from Luther Rice Seminary and a Th.M. from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Philosophy in Christian Preaching from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is married to Kimberly, and they have three children: McCartnie, Rush, and Maverick. Dr. Owen Strachan is married to Bethany and together they have three children. The Maine native is a graduate of Bowdoin College (A.B. in History), Southern Seminary (M.Div. in Biblical & Theological Studies), and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (Ph.D. in Theological Studies). Dr. Strachan is Senior Fellow of the Council on Biblical Manhood & Womanhood and was formerly President of CBMW, whose purpose is to set forth the teachings of the Bible about the complementary differences between men and women, created equally in the image of God, because these teachings are essential for obedience to Scripture and for the health of the family and the church. A well-established writer, Dr. Strachan has published a number of books, including: Risky Gospel: Abandon Fear and Build Something Awesome; Reawakening the Evangelical Mind; The Pastor as Public Theologian; Designed for Joy.

4 Worship Lead by Jim Spencer "In 2015, Jim and Nicci Spencer and their thirteen children felt led of the Lord to sell everything, leave the plains of Kansas and live on the road, in a bus, ministering in music and teaching, in churches all around the country for at least a year (which turned into two years). They have traveled from coast-to-coast and from coast-to-coast again, averaging over 90 concerts a year. Having recently returned to dwelling in a more traditional home, they continue to minister throughout the country. With their original songs, acoustic arrangements and a passion to make much of Christ, the Spencers are a family band that will delight your heart and encourage your soul."
