3 CONFERENCE PRESENTERS Rev. Dr. Fred Anderson, D. Min. is Pastor Emeritus of Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York City, where he retired in 2015 after 42 years of pastoral ministry in the PC(USA). An author of hymn texts and psalm paraphrases, his work appears in numerous Protestant and Roman Catholic hymnals in North America, Australia, and even Asia. His metrical psalms and pastoral reflection on them were recently published by Eerdmans Press in a single volume entitled Singing God's Psalms. A pastoral theologian with special interest in the theology of preaching, worship and sacraments, he is currently at work on a book tentatively entitled What Does Jesus Death Have to Do with Me?-A New Model of Atonement. Fred recently retired from the Princeton Seminary Board of Trustees after 25 year of service, but continues as Chair of the Board of the Center of Theological Inquiry in Princeton. Rev. Christina Braudaway-Bauman, M.Div. is Senior Minister of the First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, in the heart of Boulder, Colorado. Previously, she served as a pastor to churches in Massachusetts for more than 25 years, and most recently as the Director of the Pastoral Excellence Network, a Lilly Endowment initiative focused on expanding their work in the ecumenical church to support new clergy for the Transition into Ministry and more seasoned pastors in Sustaining Pastoral Excellence. Rev. A. Michael Brown, Degree retired Presbyterian Pastor is now involved in a Lutheran congregation in Vancouver, Washington. Michael has served churches in Montana, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia, created and led worship for summer conferences, written liturgy for the closing of a congregation and the 2016 General Assembly meeting of the PC(USA), taught classes on the liturgy, and the sacraments, brews beer, loves to explore the sounds of a piano and sometimes wonders, How do we make the liturgy work? Dr. Jan Kraybill, DMA is a musical leader and dynamic speaker; a concert organist, pianist, and harpsichordist; an educator and organ consultant; and an enthusiastic cheerleader for the power of music to change lives for the better. She is Executive Director of The Hymn Society in the United States and Canada and serves as Organ Conservator at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City and Organist-in-Residence at the international headquarters of Community of Christ in Independence, Missouri. Jan has performed solo and collaborative roles in musical events in Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Tahiti, The Netherlands, and United States, led international hymn festivals, taught workshops, inspired audiences and congregations, and been a resource for worship musicians. Dr. Charlotte Y. Kroeker, Ph.D., AR&LW's Presiding Member, is Executive Director of the Church Music Institute overseeing program development and strategic planning, coming from the University of Notre Dame where she held a faculty research position in church music. She is the author of The Sounds of Our Offerings: Achieving Excellence in Church Music, is editor of Music in Christian Worship, and author of numerous articles on church music. Dr. Kroeker is trained as a performing pianist and pedagogue, spending most of her career as a college professor and administrator. Born and raised in the General Conference Mennonite Church, she has served as organist and/or choir director in Presbyterian, Episcopal, Catholic, Lutheran and Methodist congregations, concurrent with her academic appointments. Dr. Kroeker has spent the last 15 years studying foundational issues for effective music in worship. She is an ordained PC(USA) Elder.

4 Rev. Dr. Kimberly Bracken Long, Ph.D. is editor of Call to Worship: Liturgy, Music, Preaching, & the Arts and coeditor, with David Gambrell, of the revised Book of Common Worship (2018). Her books include From This Day Forward: Rethinking the Christian Wedding, The Worshiping Body: The Art of Leading Worship, and The Eucharistic Theology of the American Holy Fairs. She edited the Feasting on the Word Worship Companion series and, with David Maxwell, Inclusive Marriage Services: A Wedding Sourcebook. She served as a professor of worship at Columbia Theological Seminary from ; prior to that she was Associate for Worship for the PC(USA), and pastor of two Presbyterian congregations. Rev. Dr. F. Russell Mitman, D. Min. has served congregations of the United Church of Christ in Pennsylvania and Colorado and 18 years as Conference Minister of Pennsylvania Southeast Conference, UCC. He has led seminars in worship leadership for church leaders in the USA and Germany. He presently is engaged weekly as preacher and presider in Parkside United Church of Christ, Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. His latest book, Preaching Adverbally, was released by Wm B. Eerdmans Publishing Co. in January Rev. Dr. Heidi Neumark, D.D. is an author, speaker and Lutheran pastor who has served congregations in the South Bronx and is presently Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Manhattan, an ELCA Reconciling in Christ Congregation that is bi-lingual. Her experiences in congregational and community organizing in the Bronx led to a highly acclaimed book Breathing Space: A Spiritual Journey in the South Bronx (Beacon Press). In her present position, Pastor Neumark also serves as the executive director of a shelter for homeless LGBTQ youth. Her latest book, Hidden Inheritance: Family Secrets Memory and Faith (Abingdon Press) is about her discovery of Jewish roots and successive family loss and trauma through the Shoah. Heidi s undergraduate studies were at Brown University. She received her Masters in Divinity from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia and spent a year at an ecumenical seminary in Argentina where she also worked with Servicio Paz y Justicia, a human rights organization. She was a an honorary doctorate of divinity from Muhlenberg College. Dr. Martin Tel, DMA, Princeton Theological Seminary s C.F. Seabrook Director of Music, earned an MMus from the University of Notre Dame, an MA from Calvin Theological Seminary, and a DMA from the University of Kansas. He is interested in congregational singing and the Psalter. His courses cover musical resources for the congregation, the Psalms in worship, and collaborative worship planning. Martin is senior editor of Psalms for All Seasons: A Complete Psalter for Worship and psalms editor for Lift Up Your Hearts: Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs. Rev. Dr. Fritz S. West, Ph.D. Rev. Dr. Paul Westermeyer, Ph.D. is Emeritus Professor of Church Music and Cantor at Luther Seminary, where he directed the Master of Sacred Music degree program with St. Olaf College. He has been the President of the Hymn Society, Editor of the Hymn, and Dean of the Twin Cities Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. His life s work has been devoted to church music and the role of the church musician, as reflected in his most recent book, A High and Holy Calling: Essays of Encouragement for the Church and its Musicians (MorningStar, 2018).
