3 How Did Camp Begin? Beginnings Unique Features First Year Grass-roots Approach Started 11 Years Ago from a mandate from Fr. Eric Dudley First camp had 9 children, 2 children s ministers, 1 priest, and a few high school leaders. Baptist Conference Center, GA Led and put together by diocese youth and children ministries. 4 Where Camp is Now? 10% Growth Each Year Leadership Last Summer Volunteer Vision Team 110 Campers (4-8th grade) 36 High School Leaders-In-Training 187 Participants works year round Volunteer Camp Staff 41 Adults including college counselors. (Minimal honorarium for our counselors.) Paid Camp Staff Registrar and Program Administrator are only two persons who receive any compensation. Photo of last year

5 The Core Purpose of Camp... To support the children and youth ministries of the congregations of the Gulf Atlantic Diocese by offering a short term, intense experience of Christian community and discipleship.

6 What We Value Devotion to Christ Authentic Relationships Servant Leadership Scripture and a Biblical Worldview Coherence between the Ethos of Dynamos and Araminta Have a lot of fun

7 The Vision of Camp... To see students growing in their relationship with Christ: discovering their spiritual gifts, responding to Jesus call to follow Him and to make disciples, and developing into leaders empowered by the Holy Spirit within camp and local parish contexts.

8 Current Structure of Camp 5 year plan shaped around creating a biblical worldview. Themes: Year 1 - Creation/Fall Year 2 - Gospel Year 3 - Church Year 4 - Holiness Year 5 - Mission

10 Leadership is built into Camp Flight Crew C.I.Ts & L.I.Ts Counselors Servant Leadership Apprentice Leadership Mature Leadership Currently, 9th graders come together to help serve the campers in community. They meet together, pray together, learn to study the Bible together, and work together. Each counselor has a C.I. T. that works with them to minister to the their cabin of 4th-8th graders. These college students are in charge of their cabin throughout the week. They lead their cabin in all activities, meals, and devotionals throughout the day. L.I.Ts help in all activities around the camp like games, drama, and worship music.

11 High School Discipleship Track Teaching the students to pray the scriptures while familiarizing them with the whole biblical story. Structure: 2 Large Group Gatherings to hear the story 3 Opportunities for scripture meditation and prayer Fun Activities in between

12 High School Discipleship Track Year 1 Year 2 Following Jesus Against the Flow: Going Deeper: Embracing a Biblical Worldview in a Secular Culture Helping Students take the next step in their relationship with God. 9th graders who have gone through all the years of Camp Araminta may start with in the Leadership Development Track.
