All are welcome to attend. A free will offering will be taken to defray costs. Any funds received over costs will be used for Presbyterian Women Mission projects.
2 SPECIAL ANTHEM The Chancel Choir anthem Men of Faith, Rise Up and Sing is from the soon to be published new Presbyterian hymnal, Glory to God. This praise and worship song comes from Delirious?, an English rock and worship band. The message is an enduring one: God will provide the strength we need to proclaim the good news in all parts of the world. NAOMI CIRCLE The Naomi Circle will meet on Wednesday, May 22 nd at noon in the Parlor here at Wayside. STEWARDSHIP OPPORTUNITIES BIRTHDAY OFFERING Wayside Women will be joining Presbyterian women around the globe during the month of May by collecting donations for the Birthday Offering. Our donations answer a critical need in making a safer and more secure world for women and children. Every gift helps to make a powerful difference in the lives of God s precious children. You may use the special envelopes for your donations or make a check to Wayside Presbyterian Women. PW BAKE SALE PW is sponsoring a bake sale on Election Day, Tuesday, May 21st. Please bring items on Monday or early Tuesday, and remember. pies are great sellers! MOBILE FOOD PANTRY We have again been invited to provide volunteers to assist with the Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry the next time it comes to the west county. The date will be Tuesday, May 28th. The work hours will be 12:30 3:00 p.m. at the Federated Church in Springfield. If you would like to be part of the crew, please sign up in the Lobby. SECOND SATURDAY PROJECT IN JUNE Once again Wayside has been invited to assist with set-up for the Friends of the Erie County Library annual book sale. Our crew will be working on the morning of Saturday, June 8 th, at the Villa gymnasium on West 8 th Street. We can use a large group of workers and there are no age limits. If you are interested please sign up in the Lobby. We also need volunteers to help set up the tables at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7 th. PW RUMMAGE SALE Presbyterian Women of Wayside are holding the Annual Rummage Sale on Friday and Saturday, June 28 th and 29th. Please drop your items in Fellowship Hall after June 4 th, and plan to join us as we sort and mark the items for the sale throughout the weeks prior to the big event. Thank you. WEST MILLCREEK FOOD BANK The basket for your donations is located in the Lobby. This week the Pantry suggests pasta & sauce. Thank you.
3 HABITAT S SUMMER BLITZ BUILD This summer Habitat will be constructing the House that Grace Built. Unlike previous summers this time the build will be completed in two weeks, with work beginning on June 10th and the house dedication on June 23rd. Wayside has been granted work slots from Monday through Friday of the second week; however, we have been asked to reduce the number of volunteers we send on Tuesday and Thursday. The daily schedule is from 7:45 a.m. 4:30 p.m. Please also complete a waiver form and place it in the envelope. Wayside has filled all its work slots except four. If you are still interested, please check the sign-up sheet in the Lobby. Additionally, if you would like to be considered as an alternate should someone else need to cancel, please print your name at the bottom of the page. 3RD ANNUAL BIKING TO BEAT CANCER The 3rd Annual Biking to Beat Cancer will be on Monday, May 27, All proceeds benefit the Cancer Research Foundation. 10, 28 & 43 mile rides are available, beginning and ending at Walnut Creek Middle School, 5901 Sterrettania Road. CHRISTIAN EDUCATION Adult Bible Study: led by Don Worthington, exploring the Letters of Paul Embracing an Adult Faith: coordinated by Jack and Melissa Grimm- meets in the library The Bible and More: led by Jim Haas, considering When Christians Get It Wrong Issues of Faith: Today we welcome Dr. Ludlow Brown, Mercyhurst University, who will address Ethics and Artificial Persons. YOUTH MISSION TRIP We are heading south to West Virginia to join up with another youth group and serve in the community of Webster Springs. The congregation of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church has invited us to work together with them. The dates are June 15 to Wednesday June 19. We will celebrate our time together with a white water rafting trip. The cost of the trip is $250. Scholarships are available for all our 6 th through 12 th graders. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL Our theme this year for VBS is Breathe It In: God Gives Life. Children and leaders will explore God s breathe of life in creation and God s help in times of trouble. There will be all the favorite features of our program including crafts, games, snacks and singing. Mark your calendars for July 15 to July 19. We are looking for volunteers now to help us prepare for summer s best week. Please sign up at the Information Table.

We are a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and rejoice in the privilege God has given us to serve in this community as part of the Body of Jesus Christ. We thank our Lord for those who worship with us from time to time as visitors and invite any who are without a church home to come and join us in serving Christ as members of this church family. FOR OUR CHILDREN Child care is available during the entire worship hour for infants and preschool children. Children may remain for the entire service or take advantage of child care (kindergarten and younger). Children s worship activity bags are available for children remaining in the worship service. Please return them following worship. SERVICE NOTES A hearing enhancement system is available for those who have need. An usher will be happy to provide you with a receiver this morning.
