Fischer INTROIT CALL TO WORSHIP Lord, happy are those who don t follow the advice of the wicked, but choose to take delight in Your law. Delight is the fruit of meditating on Your law day and night. Those who feed on Your Word are easily distinguishable. They are like trees planted by a stream. Their leaves don t wither. Abundance is the fruit of their lives, even in dry seasons. That s not true for the wicked. Their lives resemble chaff that blows away when it is separated from the wheat. We have this promise from God; the Lord watches over the way of those caught up in right living. You call us to reorder our lives by the kingdom You are bringing in Jesus Christ. Yet we still pass by the ones You especially notice: people who are poor and hungry, people who weep. We have not stood with those who are hated, bullied, and excluded. Comfortable with the ways things are, we are too complacent, even complicit with injustice and prejudice. 6 NURTURE CARD OF THANKS Barbara Manaker would like to extend a huge thank you to all who made meals, sent cards, s, texts and phone calls to wish her well after her surgery. She also appreciates all who stepped in to help with the music programs over the last several weeks. This church is such a blessing to her! GED STUDENT INFORMATION SESSION IS Tuesday, February 19 at the James Island Outreach for anyone interested in obtaining their GED. Meetings are at 10-11:30am and 6-7:30pm - you need attend only one meeting. A CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP is being launched for loved ones with dementia. Part of each meeting will be educational, followed by group discussion. At this point, we are finding out who might be interested. Please contact the church office and let us know if days or evenings would be a better meeting time for you, the caregiver. This will be open to the community, so please recommend it to any caregiver you know. THE SPRING MEN S RETREAT will be Saturday-Sunday March on the Ashley River near Summerville. We will enjoy camping, fellowship, prayer, fishing, paddling, power boating, hiking, & ATVs. Arrive by land or water, come for part or all of the time. WORSHIP TOGETHER All first graders and above are invited to join this special class which teaches children about the basic components of worship within the Reformed tradition and prepares them for their first communion. This class will meet February 24- April 14 following the Children s Time at the 11:00am worship service. WALK FOR WATER is March 30, Please join the JIPC Faith Walkers and Water Mission in raising awareness of the global water crisis and funds that save lives. The walk is approximately 3 miles and takes about an hour to complete, with fun festivities before and after at North Charleston s beautiful Riverfront Park.
