3 Starting Tuesday, October 2nd we will be starting a 4-week Bible Study on the Letters in Revelation. All are invited to attend. Bible Study starts at 1:15 PM in the library. 1. 4 Karakanyo Omot, recipient of services from Wesley's Refugee Faith Care Team, became a United States citizen on September 6th. Congratulations, Karakanyo. Wesley Community Services distributes food donations through Neighborhood Alliance for Child Safety. Caseworkers are in homes in our neighborhood and see when there are food shortages. Recently they met a pregnant couple with two children that had no food in the house. Another family had to suddenly move out of their rental property and the dad missed several days of work in search of new housing. He got terminated but soon started a new job. In the meantime, they were short of food. Another family on a fixed income had their SNAP (food stamps) benefits terminated and needed support while they were re-applying. Yet another family was doubled up with friends and had limited income. Food help was needed. And the need continues.. Thank you, Wesley family, for bringing in food items to share with our neighbors. 4

5 The 39th Annual Greater Indianapolis CROP Hunger Walk Sunday, October 21, 2018 Our Youth Ministry Group will be participating in the Crop Walk this year. Walkers register starting at 12:30 PM and the walk will begin at 2:00 PM, after entertainment and brief opening comments and prayer. Walkers cover a designated route beginning and ending at the Christian Theological Seminary on 42nd Street near Michigan Rd. The route is around 3.5 miles long through the Butler-Tarkington Neighborhood. All Wesley members and friends are invited to join in the walk and/or donate to this much needed and worthwhile event. See Qutanya Austin for details. THE CROP HUNGER WALK IMPACT Regardless of its size, your gift can have an impact around the corner and around the globe. Here are some examples of what your gift could accomplish: $1 $10 of groceries: U.S. Foodbanks can distribute $10 worth of groceries for every $1 given to them. $15 10 jerry cans: ensure that water makes it into homes without contamination. $25 50 chicks: a self-propagating food source for extra nutrition and extra income. $25 Seeds and tools for a garden: added nutrition and income for families. $30 One meter of a shallow borehole well: access to clean, safe water. $ meals in a food bank. $ pounds of food distributed to families in need. $125 A pair of goats to provide milk, fertilizer, protein and income. 5 5

Grab a pumpkin, navigate through the corn maze, enjoy the fun of the barnyard bonanza, live music, food vendors, local craft vendors and more! The Youth will be traveling to Danville, Indiana on Saturday, October 13th to enjoy the Heartland Apple Beasley s Orchard. 6

7 October Meeting Willing Spirits will be traveling again this year to Creation Museum and Noah s Ark in Kentucky. Wesley on Saturday, October 13th and 8:00am. November Meeting Officers will be attending the District Leadership Development and Officer Training which is Saturday, November 3rd from 10:00am to 3:00pm in Greenwood.
