But membership implies a certain set of rights and privileges. We believe that the Body of Christ is made up of many parts, all of which are equally important. The church is not a country club, rather it is a group of believers who are partnering together to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus... Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. (A ministry of Celebrate Recovery.) So, Eastridge prefers the phrase, Ministry Partner instead of Member. Ministry Partnership includes attending, serving, giving and participating in biblical community. This journey begins at Starting Point. We offer a quarterly Starting Point class where you'll learn the vision and values of Eastridge. There will be plenty of time for questions and fellowship too. We will discuss what a disciple looks like and some steps to growing in your faith. And at the end of the class you'll have an opportunity to become a Ministry Partner with Eastridge Community Church. Gerald Adam Cooper Adam and his wife Angie came to Eastridge in 2012 with a desire to continue a caring ministry that they had begun in 2008.

6 Gerald Adam Cooper Adam and his wife Angie came to Eastridge in 2012 with a desire to continue a caring ministry that they had begun in They immediately began extending a caring hand of support to people in the Eastridge family who were suffering from grief due to death or unexpected changes in their lives. Their devotion to this caring ministry did not go unnoticed and in 2013 Adam was asked to become the volunteer director of all of Eastridge s pastoral care efforts. As part of this effort they identified a caring ministry program, Stephen Ministry, which has been serving churches around the United States since Eastridge s leadership agreed with the need for this lay caregiving ministry and Eastridge became a registered Stephen Ministry Congregation in December of Adam and Angie attended Stephen Leader training in January of 2014 and began training Stephen Ministers in March of this year. Adam and Angie have two daughters, Lenzie Rutledge, age 21, who is a junior at the University of Georgia, and Samantha Cooper, age 13, who is a seventh grader at the Newton County Theme School. Adam has a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Georgia and a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. Adam is currently pursuing his Doctor of Psychology in Grief Counseling. Adam s love for the Lord and unselfish devotion to the lost and hurting have allowed him to hear the Lord s call to ministry.
