Gluten free bread will be in the center tray with individual cups. Those who are not able, or would choose to receive communion in your seat, one of the servers will come to you. Esther Ziegler for providing our worship and communion service to us today. Rev. Ziegler is a graduate of Lancaster Theological Seminary and has spent most of her career in healthcare chaplaincy. She is a Board Certified Chaplain and most recently served as chaplain of Homewood at Crumland Farms before retiring in

5 Second Mile Giving For October Neighbors in Need is a special mission offering of the United Church of Christ that supports ministries of justice and compassion throughout the United States. Two-thirds of the offering is used by the UCC's Justice and Witness Ministries to fund a wide array of local and national justice initiatives, advocacy efforts, and direct service projects. Through ucc.org/justice, our national Justice and Witness Ministries office offers resources, news updates, and action alerts on a broad spectrum of justice issues. Working with members of the UCC Justice and Peace Action Network (a network of thousands of UCC justice and peace advocates). Justice and Witness continues its strong policy advocacy work on issues such as the federal budget, voting rights, immigration, health care, hate crimes, civil liberties, and environmental justice. Neighbors in Need also supports our American Indian neighbors in the UCC. One-third of the offering supports the UCC s council for American Indian Ministries (CAIM). Today there are 20 UCC congregations on reservations and one urban, multi-tribal UCC congregation in Minneapolis, MN. These churches and their pastors are supported by CAIM. CAIM is also an invaluable resource for more than 1,000 individuals from dozens of other tribes and nations who are members of other UCC congregations in the U.S. Most Needed Items: Neighbors in Need helps make A Just World for All possible. For this to occur, it needs your support. Please check the Use by Date on items you are taking out of your cupboards. As well as food donations, cash donations are also accepted by the Glade Valley Community Services at: P. O. 6 Our Fall Dinner & Bazaar will be Friday, November 2nd and Saturday, November 3rd. We need you to help make this a succss! Baked goods, and crafts are needed! We also are in need of sugar for the slaw and 9x13 cakes for dessert (no butter cream or cream cheese icing, please). Sign up sheets will be on the back table in the sanctuary, or call Cathy Widder ( ) or Ron Rough ( ) to volunteer. There is a lot to organize. If you can sign-up early, it helps tremendously! Wreath Making Join the Guild in making wreaths to sell at our fall dinner and at Christkindlmarket in December. Saturday, October 13th at 9:00 a.m. at Chris Torbeck s house Dublin Road, Walkersville. Please RSVP to Chris All are welcome Birth Announcement Congratulations to Kara and Ivan Caprarola on the birth of their daughter, Haley Elizabeth Caprarola. She was born on September 27th, weighing 7lbs, 3 oz. and 19 3/4 inches long. Proud big brother is Dawson and grandparents are Brooks and Cathy Widder.
