Life certainly has happened since the last 7me I wrote here. I ve been to Hai7 for 2 weeks and I ve been to Montana to be with my mom as she passed from this life to her reward with the Lord Jesus. Thank you to all of you for your sincere prayers, kind words, and love. Our family is blessed by God to be allowed to be part of the QFMC family. Thank you also to Pastor Morgan MacPherson for his excellent preaching and wri7ng this past month. We are all blessed to have such a faithful servant as one of our shepherds. And, last but not least, thank you to my Lord Jesus. He has faithfully sustained me in this journey. He is truly awesome! Quiet Mercy I want to share one story from my experience with my mom last weekend. When we arrived home from Hai7, I knew that Diane and I would have to make a trip to Montana the next day. Somehow I just didn t pick up that my mom s condi7on was as cri7cal as it was. I had an7cipated that I had weeks to say goodbye. It turned out that it was really only hours; 48 to be specific. I wasn t ready to say goodbye and I was afraid to see her die. I felt ashamed that I was fearful of these last moments. On Saturday night, my brother Lindsay made a 7mely quote of one of his favorite authors, Charles Swindoll, when he said, Some7mes the most spiritual thing we can do is to get a good night s sleep. I went to bed that night and confessed my fear to the Lord and then I slept. On Sunday, we spent the en7re day with my mom. We held her hands and spoke words of thanksgiving and love to her for all she was to us. We even sang to her. Diane led us in many hymns. Diane is the one with the angel s voice my brother Lindsay and I do more what I d call music comedy. He and I even sang to mom Up with Montana Boys (it s the Montana Grizzly fight song one of her all- 7me favorites.)

2 As mom took her last breaths, it occurred to me that I wasn t afraid and hadn t been the en7re day. Somewhere in the night, unbeknownst to me, God helped me. That is so o_en how the Lord works in my life with His quiet mercy. He is GREAT and He is ABLE. My mom is in His care, free of the bonds of this earth. I am free of fear. If it returns, I know who I will turn to for quiet mercy; my Lord Jesus.
