Provide a brief biographical description of yourself (max 100 words) with specific reference to experience, skills, abilities and gifts that you would bring to this work. She has served on Parish Council, has been a member of Diocesan Council and sub-committees, and has been a delegate to 3 General Synods. Both her professional and personal focus have been on issues of Indigenous Justice, and Melanie is passionate about her desire to see the church continually work towards becoming the place where the Word of God is proclaimed and revealed in and to the world. Reflect briefly (max 100 words) on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the Anglican Church of Canada in its national life. Challenge and opportunity are often two sides of the same coin. I believe that while finances will always seem to us on paper to be a challenge, the opportunity of using our time, talent and treasure in new ways is quite exciting. As part of a generation that overwhelmingly identifies as "spiritual but not religious", I believe we have the opportunity to re-imagine what the Word of God looks in the world and how we as a church can best be image-bearers. Then, through word and action, show that being "religious" can actually be a force for good! Note: Submissions longer than 100 words will be edited. I certify that this is a collective nomination of the delegates to General Synod 2016 from the Diocese of New Westminster and that the nominee is willing to serve if elected. 2

Provide a brief biographical description of yourself (max 100 words) with specific reference to experience, skills, abilities and gifts that you would bring to this work. An Anglican since birth, I faithfully follow our Lord Jesus Christ believing God sustains the ACC as an important expression of the universal Christian church. Holding past offices I have demonstrated the importance of communication at all levels. I bring extensive experience from Parish and Diocesan administration and from three General Synods; I served on COGS from I am Prolocutor of the Ecclesiastical Province of BC & Yukon, and was on the Governance Working Group developing Canon XXII for the National Indigenous Ministry. I work energetically with dedication and integrity, supporting effective administration that serves God's Mission. Reflect briefly (max 100 words) on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the Anglican Church of Canada in its national life. The challenges for the ACC include making the Gospel relevant and meaningful again to an increasingly secular society in Canada, and across the world. We are challenged to educate and demonstrate that Christian values and spirituality are essential to humankind. We have the opportunities to witness to God's abiding love. We have opportunities to show fresh ways to be Church and move from society's margins to its centre by truly living out the Marks of Mission Note: Submissions longer than 100 words will be edited. We as Canadians and we as the church world-wide, must address the articles of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, as well as the Rights of Indigenous Peoples cited in the United Nations Declaration. 14 NOMINEE: Category of Nominee: Gender: Youth Female Miss Siobhan Bennett 12 Wintemute Street Fort Erie ON L2A 2N6 Tel (O) Tel (H) (905) Tel (C) Fax The following information will be shared with those who will elect the members of the Council, i.e. the members of the General Synod from your ecclesiastical province. Provide a brief biographical description of yourself (max 100 words) with specific reference to experience, skills, abilities and gifts that you would bring to this work. Siobhan Bennett, Age: 21, St. Paul's, Fort Erie, Diocese of Niagara. I'm familiar with several parishes around the Diocese due to my father being a priest. Worshipping in these places and meeting people in the diocese has helped me to appreciate our diversity as Anglicans. Being 21, it will come as no surprise that Youth Ministry is dear to my heart. Through participation in events like the Niagara Youth Conference, Diocesan Youth synod and the TRC Final Event in Ottawa in May 2015, I have been inspired by how young people can be full participants in issues of social justice. Reflect briefly (max 100 words) on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the Anglican Church of Canada in its national life. The main challenge facing the church is connectivity. The church is not isolated from the world it serves. With society becoming more and more technological, the church must transform and employ new technologies to embrace youth and young adults while still honoring our traditions that make us who we are. There's an amazing opirtunity in our youth. I've seen first hand how much the youth care about social justice, and how much they're willing to serve their communities. Our church needs to be active in our communities and in communication with our youth. Note: Submissions longer than 100 words will be edited. I certify that this is a collective nomination of the delegates to General Synod 2016 from the Diocese of Niagara and that the nominee is willing to serve if elected. 2

The Church has always faced challenges - finances, ministering in an increasingly secular world, maintaining relationships with our partners locally and globally with diminishing resources, engaging Anglicans in the work and mission of our Church and remaining committed to dialogue in spite of differences we have. The opportunities to be faithful witnesses to God's grace abound, not the least of which includes our continuing journey with our indigenous brothers and sisters toward self-determination. Pilar is Incumbent of a Christ Church in Fort Macleod Alberta. She lives in Lethbridge. She is married with 3 children. Pilar is bilingual in Spanish and was a teacher prior to being called to ordained ministry. Reflect briefly (max 100 words) on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the Anglican Church of Canada in its national life. One of the challenges that is before us (perhaps always) is how to move toward common goals while being aware of the particular needs of certain dioceses. Another would be to discern Gods voice as we move together into a common future. The opportunity in that would be around finding ways to help others to best serve the people of God and to be a part of a movement which God is calling us into. Reflect briefly (max 100 words) on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the Anglican Church of Canada in its national life. We continue to live in a time of ongoing social and cultural change and yet many of our ways we use to engage with the culture continue subconsciously to reflect a "Christendom" mindset. There is a great hunger for encounter with God and there are great opportunities to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ open to us - and much ancient wisdom to guide our way.
