GATHERING PRELUDE COMMUNITY CONVERSATION & PRAYER REQUESTS CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS P: Blessed be the holy Trinity, one God, the fountain of living water, the rock who gave us birth, our light and our salvation. C: Amen. P: Let us come into the light, the revealing and healing light of God. (Silence is kept for reflection.) P: God of grace and glory, C: you have brought us through the night of sin into the light of Jesus resurrection. Yet our lives are still shadowed by sin. Make us alive in Christ, O God. Make us new as you make all things new. Rescue us from evil and the gloom of sin, renew us in grace, and restore us to living in your holiness, through Jesus Christ, our risen Lord. Amen. P: Rejoice with all creation around God s throne! The light of the risen Christ puts to flight all evil deeds, washes away sin, restores innocence to the fallen, casts out hate, brings peace, and humbles earthly pride. WORD FIRST LESSON Acts 16: During the night Paul had a vision: there stood a man of Macedonia pleading with him and saying, Come over to Macedonia and help us. 10 When he had seen the vision, we immediately tried to cross over to Macedonia, being convinced that God had called us to proclaim the good news to them. 11 We set sail from Troas and took a straight course to Samothrace, the following day to Neapolis, 12 and from there to Philippi, which is a leading city of the district of Macedonia and a Roman colony. We remained in this city for some days. 13 On the sabbath day we went outside the gate by the river, where we supposed there was a place of prayer; and we sat down and spoke to the women who had gathered 5

6 there. 14 A certain woman named Lydia, a worshiper of God, was listening to us; she was from the city of Thyatira and a dealer in purple cloth. The Lord opened her heart to listen eagerly to what was said by Paul. 15 When she and her household were baptized, she urged us, saying, If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come and stay at my home. And she prevailed upon us. Word of God, word of life. C: Thanks be to God. C: I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. 7

8 I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. 9 P: In the night in which he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread, and gave thanks; broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take and eat; this is my body, given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me. Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to drink, saying: This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin. Do this for the remembrance of me. THE LORD'S PRAYER P: Gathered into one by the Holy Spirit, let us pray as Jesus taught us. Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever. Amen. INVITATION TO COMMUNION P: The table of life is spread before you. Feast on the goodness and mercy of God. (United in our shared baptism, we gather at Christ s table. We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ is truly present in the bread and wine of Holy Communion, bringing to us the gift of forgiveness and the promise of eternal life. Please come forward via the side aisles and receive the bread. After you receive the bread, you may choose an individual glass of wine (purple cups in the outer rings) or grape juice (white cups in the center rings). A chalice of wine is available in the center for those who wish to drink from a common cup. You may return to your pew via the center aisle. If you do not desire to receive communion, you may come forward for a blessing or remain seated.) SUMMER WORSHIP SCHEDULE Beginning on Memorial Day Weekend, Sunday, May 29th through Labor Day Weekend, Sunday, September 4th, please join us for worship at 9:00am on Sunday mornings and at 6:00pm on Wednesday Evenings. ATTENTION 2016 GRADS!!! All High School and College graduates please call the office or Carrie by May 31st to be recognized during worship on June 5th. Let us know: who you are, where you have graduated from, any honors or special recognitions received, and what your future plans are. If possible, please wear your cap and gown to worship. PLEASE PRAY for the youth and adults who will be attending confirmation camp in June, and going on the summer service trip in July. KNITTING AND CROCHETING MINISTRY continues on Tuesdays from 6:30pm-7:30pm in the Fireside Room at St. Peter Lutheran Church through May 24th. BIKE FOR BREAKFAST First Outing is June 4 th at 8:00am!! Meet at the Old Plank Bike Trail entrance at the end of Erie Ave. We will bike to Sheboygan Falls, and plan the rest of our outings for the summer. 22 This summer we'll be taking a break from Coffee Fellowship! Thanks for all the contributions this year. Watch for it to start up again in the fall! 8 TH -12 TH GRADERS We will resume Second Sunday of the Month meetings in September. Until then, keep your eyes and ears open for information about fun summer youth group events! THE 23RD ANNUAL ST. PETER PLANT SALE is just around the corner. Myra Schneider is in full bloom as she collects preorders. WELCA will host the sale, on May 7th, 2016 from 8:00am until 3:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. We will once again have a large variety of annuals and perennials. Beautiful hanging baskets will also be available just in time for Mother s Day. Please watch the kiosk for an opportunity to help out with this fundraiser. We will need help unloading the truck, setting presales, selling the day of the event, and clean up. The more volunteers we have the more fun we can have as well. All sales help benefit ministry locally. The public is welcome, so invite your friends!! See you at the sale. An ASCENSION DAY SERVICE will be held on Thursday, May 5th at 7:00 pm at Grace Episcopal Church. Our very own Pastor Kristin will be preaching. Not only is this a great worship opportunity, but also it is a way to honor the relationships we have with our tripartite brothers and sisters. Please plan on attending. ST. PETER GOLF LESSONS & LEAGUES are back for a repeat season at Sunset Hills (Hwy 23) Lessons start on Tuesday May 17 th and run for five weeks. The cost is $50.00 (due at first lesson) Tune Up Lessons for Seasoned Players 5:30 to 6:30pm Beginners Class Parent and Child Lessons 6:30 to 7:30pm If there is interest we will start a class on Saturday mornings Please sign up on the kiosk at church. 23 Golf League s opening night is Tuesday May 17 th at 6:00pm. Meet at the Club house and form a group, then head to the 1 st Tee Box. You can keep score if you want. This is a just for fun league. All are welcome. League will run every Tuesday evening until it gets toooooo cold. If you do not golf and want some entertainment on a Tuesday evening this summer, come around 7:30pm and greet your friends at the 19 th Hole for some fun and great conversation. Please take a look at the SHALOM BULLETIN BOARD in the Fellowship Hall for photos of fun past events and information on future activities!!! There is no experience necessary, so please join us for fun, fellowship, and a chance to help others ~ all at the same time!!
