5 Gospel Acclamation R: The Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew, the twenty eighth Chapter, C: Glory to you, O Lord The Gospel Matthew 28:1-10 After the sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. And suddenly there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. For fear of him the guards shook and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, Do not be afraid; I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for he has been raised, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. 7 The Apostle s Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God s only son, our Lord. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. (Please be seated) THE MEAL Communion Welcome and Distribution - All Baptized Christians are welcome to join with us in this meal where we believe the true body and blood of Christ are present and received in, with, and under the bread and wine. Adults who do not receive the Supper or children who have not received first Communion instruction are encouraged to come forward for a blessing. We commune by Intinction. As you are ushered forward, extend your hand to receive the bread and then dip it either into the wine or grape juice. White grape juice is available as a substitute and is offered in the second cup and a gluten free wafer is also available please asks your server. You are also welcome and invited after receiving Communion to the altar rail for a brief time of prayer and meditation. 7

Our usual service times are 8 & 11 a.m. Here at SLC every Sunday is a mini-easter Sunday because every time we gather to praise God, hear the Word, and share in Christ meal, we celebrate that Jesus is risen and with us. Please know that our form of worship dates back to the earliest days of Christianity and in this style of worship you are not an audience but rather you are on stage and God is the only audience! Therefore, if our style seems a little difficult at first, know that you can quickly learn the art of worshiping in this way that Christians have worshipped for thousands of years. This worship service is not designed to entertain but to connect you to the life giving story of God in Christ. Please feel free to contact our pastors with any questions.
