Enrolment forms and dates are available in the narthex of both parishes. The preparation programme will be carried out in the Church Hall of St. Dyfrig s from 6 7 pm. Our young people will need to have reached Year 8 of secondary school, and they must be baptised. We will need evidence of their Baptism. We would like to invite parishioners from St. Dyfrig s and All Hallows to a presentation and simple finger buffet with tea/coffee after Mass on Sunday February 3 rd. In the presentation we will outline the building work and heritage project including provisional dates and events. There will be no cost for the buffet but if you are able to donate a cake it would be appreciated. We would like to thank all those who have agreed to donate a cake. Cakes can be left in the narthex after Mass on Saturday evening or brought to the hall before Mass begins on Sunday morning. Thanks for your cooperation. inviting a number of guests from the community, so hope it will be a good opportunity to celebrate our successful grant application. An invitation to everyone who works with young people in the Catholic Church: the team responsible for the Celebrate Charismatic Family Conference are holding a training day, free of charge, not only for their own team but also for anyone who works with young people in a Catholic setting and feels they could benefit from this. The day will be led by two experienced children and youth workers named Gemma Wildsmith and Claire Fernandes and is sure to be an inspiring and informative time. It takes place on Saturday 16th March in a Catholic Church near Bristol (exact location to be confirmed). There will be a car or two going from St Dyfrig s if lifts are required. We will not be issuing tickets but ask you to sign the sheet in the narthex as we need to know how many to cater for. If you are also able to donate a cake please indicate this on the sign-up sheet. The next Eucharistic Adoration will be taking place on Saturday 2 nd February. This will be a time for silent adoration, prayer, contemplation or just to be in the presence of Our Blessed Lord. The more time you spend with Jesus, the more you will come away feeling renewed and healed, something we need in this climate of uncertainties and ever increasing pace of daily life. Many other wonderful things happen where and when the Lord Jesus is adored in the Blessed Sacrament. Come along any time between 10 and 12. Our Lord is waiting for you. FIRST RECONCILIATION AND HOLY COMMUNION Joanne Dendle and Natalie Sidoli are the Catechists for our First Communion Programme for this year; I want to thank them for their generosity in volunteering. The First Reconciliation programme in All Hallows began on Wednesday 16 th from pm The children need to have reached at least Year 3 of primary school and obviously, they must be baptised. We will need evidence of their baptism. I think that when the children celebrate these sacraments the life of our parishes is enriched. I look forward to this time of preparation. If anyone would like his or her child to participate in this year s programme please complete a form available at the back of Church. The date for First Communion at All Hallows this year will be Sunday 19 th May. LECTIO DIVINA The next gathering of the Lectio Divina will be held on Monday 28 th at 6.30pm followed by a simple supper. If you would like to come, please contact Anna@mayer.co.uk The will be a day of prayer and reflection on Saturday 9 th March It will be held at Anna Mayer s house. The day will start at 10.30am and finish about 4.00pm. Lunch will be provided. There will be no charge but if you would like to come, please contact Anna at Anna@mayer.co.uk or telephone UCM boosts HCPT Donation for 2018 As the HCPT Lourdes Fund were All Hallows UCM charity for 2018 the UCM added 252 to the donation of 748 made from the Tea Dances to increase the overall donation to HCPT Lourdes Fund will continue to be the UCM Charity for PAC MEETING: The next PAC meeting is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 5 th February 2019 at 7.00pm. 3 Library. Are you an avid reader, we have a great array of books available in the parish hall foyer, only 50p each or three for Call in and browse!!! Appeal for Raffle Prizes.. As 2019 commences we appeal to your generosity for any items, unwanted gifts etc that we could use for Raffle Prizes at our fund raising events throughout the year. If you have any gifts, please leave in the church porch marked as raffle prizes. Thank you again for the support that you have always given. HOMELESSNESS. If you have any unwanted sleeping bags, or good towels that could be used for the Homeless, please could you bring them in. We working with local churches to help those less fortunate than ourselves. DYFRIG S NEWS THAT S NOT MY JOB! This s a story about four people named EVERYBODY, SOMEBODY, ANYBODY and NOBODY. There was an important job to be done and EVERYBODY thought that SOMEBODY would do it. ANYBODY could have done it but NOBODY volunteered. SOMEBODY was disappointed because it was EVERYBODY S job. EVERYBODY believed that ANYBODY could do it but NOBODY realized that EVERYBODY wouldn t do it. It ended up that EVERYBODY blamed SOMEBODY when NOBODY did what ANYBODY could have done.
