Founded National Prison Hospice Association in 1991, launching a prison hospice movement that now includes more than 75 prison hospice programs in state and federal correctional facilities. Founded Prison Mindfulness Institute (aka Prison Dharma Network) in 1989, the international association for secular mindfulness-based prison programming and contemplative and Buddhist inspired prison meditation programs, with over 185 organizational members and over 4000 individual members. Co-founded the Center for Mindfulness in Corrections in 2008, a division of Prison Mindfulness Institute, providing mindfulness and emotional intelligence based staff development, resiliency and leadership training for the corrections professionals and correctional agencies. Co-Founded the Engaged Mindfulness Institute (formerly Peacemaker Institute) in 2002 and its acclaimed Mindfulness Teacher Training & Certification programs and the Integral Peacemaker Training Program, a mindfulness-based emotional intelligence (MBEI) based Leadership Development Program for leaders, social entrepreneurs, NGO managers, peacemakers on social activists. Founded the Center for Contemplative End of Life Care at Naropa University and organized and chaired six national conferences on contemplative end of life care. Co-founded the Chaplaincy Training Program at the Upaya Institute in Santa Fe, NM
