In this edition of The Noodle members of the FYC were asked to write about a famous person that they would like to meet. Their answers varied and included a scientist, a CEO, an actor, and a singer. It is all about Toby Keith By Derek Carraway A famous person I would like to meet is my favorite music artist, country music superstar Toby Keith. He has been my favorite for as long as I can remember. I literally like every song and video he puts out. He also starred in two movies, and I watched both of them. He has had numerous number one hits. He has won many awards for his work, including the Academy of Country Music Awards Entertainer of the Year one time. He writes the majority of his own songs, which I find impressive. Most artists do not, but he is not afraid to put what s on his mind in a song, and some of his songs have been controversial but he doesn t care. In other words, he tells it like it is, which I find refreshing. He is a diehard patriot that supports this country and our troops, and has done several USO tours for the entertainment of our troops serving overseas. With the current state of our country, we need more people like this. The public spoke clearly on this when he came out with his song Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American) and was supposed to perform for the Their choices may not be any different than who you would want to meet. I became a fan in the early 90 s, following wrestlers like Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Mr. Perfect, Shawn Michaels, and other wrestlers of that era.

2 Headlining WrestleMania By Josue Tapia Ortiz Some people don t know, but I m a diehard wrestling fan. I eat, sleep, and dream of wresting. I ve been a fan of it since before I was even born! But seriously my dream famous person that I would love to meet is Vince McMahon. Vince McMahon, to me, is the greatest mind in sports entertainment. I became a fan in the early 90 s, following wrestlers like Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Mr. Perfect, Shawn Michaels, and other wrestlers of that era. I would stay up every Monday night and wait till 9 pm to see these guys wrestle on Monday Night Raw. It was the greatest thing to watch. At times it was better than cartoons to me, but when I got older I began to appreciate wrestling in a different way. On TV Vince was portrayed as this mean, ego-driven maniac who wanted to control all the wrestlers and the titles, but in real life he was a kind, supportive and openminded CEO of a wrestling organization. Being disabled and watching wrestling in the 90 s was like adding fuel to my imagination. These guys would do death defying stunts just to amaze the live fans and those watching at home. I always dreamed of being one of those guys on TV and having people scream my name and wear T-shirts with my face on them. The 90 s were big for wrestling, but then the new millennium came. Vince was losing wrestling fans to other rising sports like slam ball (trampoline basketball), mixed martial arts and stuff like that. People wanted something new. Then Vince brought in Zach Gowen, the first-ever one-legged professional wrestler. To me that made me a fan all over again. I thought, Wow I m visually impaired and I have excuses on day-to-day stuff and here this guy comes along and is given a chance to be one of the most unlikely of athletes in the squared circle. I thought of Vince McMahon as a genius at that time, but then he gave a chance to wrestlers who stuttered, who could only use one eye, and who had hearing impairments. I just thought that was so awesome, but it also made me realize that if Vince McMahon, who is one of the richest men in the world, would give chances to people with certain limitations and still make them as famous as The Rock and Hulk Hogan, can I give it a shot? The day I get to meet Vince McMahon won t be to ask for an autograph or tell him how great he is (even though I still would do both), it will be to show him and tell him that I want to follow my dreams. I want to be in the squared circle. I want to headline the super bowl of wrestling... WRESTLEMANIA!

3 Who would I meet? By Cinthia Melgar Everyone has a famous actor, actress, and/ or singer they would like to meet one day. What would be your first reaction when you saw that person? Would you be able to move, speak, or even acknowledge that they are talking to you? It is hard to say what would be the first reaction. First off I would like to begin to say that I have two famous people I would love to meet. It was really hard to choose. They both have great qualities and similar qualities that make me want to meet them. The first famous person is not just a favorite because I am writing about him first, but he has a great record in making movies. I have yet to watch a movie that I could possibly dislike. Not everyone may agree on this with me but in my opinion my first actor would be Jim Carrey. Jim Carrey s first film I ever watched was The Mask. This film was the reason why I fell for Jim Carrey. He was amazingly fun to me in every seen. The way he just didn t care to be funny and make silly faces was just brilliant. At the time when I first saw Jim Carrey,I felt as if I couldn t be silly because friends and family would think I have problems in my head, but the moment that I saw him act in this movie it made me think that life is not just about the sad moments and the obstacles. Life has to have more... Life is about laughing and making other people laugh. Laughter is a great medicine for anyone at any age. Why should we spend most of our life being so angry at the world when we could just laugh and learn from our life changing obstacles? Jim Carrey opened a door to me in a way that not even my family did. He had a great impact on my life. After that movie I just couldn t wait to see the next one. As time passed by and he made more movies, he just kept giving me that inspiration to be silly and to be open to laughter all the time. Not only was he a good role model to me but he became an even bigger one when I read that he came forward and admitted to having depression, and went about creating awareness on depression. That takes a great amount of courage. To be able to come out in public and admit that there is something going on and that you need help is just amazing. Jim Carrey to me will always be a great actor whether he is doing comedy or not. My second famous person was not chosen second because he is second best, but because he brings to me a different light. He may not be much of a comedian, but he brings mystery. The sense of wanting to know what is behind those beautiful eyes of his. Johnny Depp may not have had a solid start due to his arrest and other stuff, but he still dazes me with those eyes. I have watched most of his mystery movies and thrillers which he brings to life. He has made movies that made me believe in fantasy worlds like the Pirates of the Caribbean series. He has this natural accent and attitude of him that makes me want to open that fantasy world with him and let him roll with his imagination. What can I say? I am a fantasy world kind of gal mixed in with video games and other stuff. If one day I were to meet these two famous men, I really don t know what I would do. I seriously am so shy that I think you would be able to hear the chirps chirping in the background. One day, hopefully one day my dream will come true.

Albert Einstein, the person I would like to meet By Lizzy Barrows When I got the assignment to write on a famous person I would like to meet, I really had to think long and hard about it.

The more I thought about this I kept coming back to someone who has made a lot of contributions in science, and surprisingly enough, had a hidden disability.

4 Albert Einstein, the person I would like to meet By Lizzy Barrows When I got the assignment to write on a famous person I would like to meet, I really had to think long and hard about it. I really admire and want to meet many different types of people, some who have been famous for being and actor or actress, and some who have contributed to our world. The more I thought about this I kept coming back to someone who has made a lot of contributions in science, and surprisingly enough, had a hidden disability. I would love to meet and talk to Albert Einstein. I think we would have a great conversation despite him having Asperger s Syndrome. It s hard to believe someone who is considered a genius had Asperger s Syndrome. Often people who have Asperger s Syndrome have peculiar habits, extreme sensitivity to textures, and are often rated high on scales measuring a-typicality, demonstrating odd behaviors, and are seemingly lost in their own little world. I can really relate to a lot of these odd Dear Saucey! Dear Saucey, I am super excited about the upcoming 13th Annual Family Café. I can t wait to come and see the FYC give their presentations. Speaking of presentations, what topics will the FYC be presenting this year at the Family Café? -fycrulez Dear fycrulez, Well thank you for your enthusiasm. The FYC will be presenting on six different topics this year at the 13th Annual Family Café. The six sessions are: The Real World: Your Life - Leaving Home and Independence, Successfully Interacting Socially (Youth Only), A Youthful Perspective on behaviors and peculiar habits. Sometimes I am in my own little world too! Albert Einstein provided the theory of relativity and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for the work he did with photoelectric effect. I think it would be really cool to sit and listen to how he came up with the theory of relativity and how he knew to explore it. He may not be a great conversationalist because of his Asperger s, but I would love to ask questions and I am sure he would love to answer mine. Einstein published more than 300 scientific papers along with over 150 non-scientific works. His great intelligence and originality have made the word Einstein synonymous with genius. It would be interesting to know just how long it took him to research and write all the papers, and if he ever did anything fun. The thing I admire most about Albert Einstein is that he never gave up and stayed focused. I could take a lesson or two from him. 5 Professor Linguine s Lab Dear Professor, The other day I looked out my window looking into my backyard and I saw a Unicorn. I was excited and didn t hesitate to go outside and give it a pet. It seemed to really like me. It seemed like it might be baby. Is there any reason I should not keep it? Mark, lover of unicorns everywhere. Well Mark, I think you have come to the right person because I am a professor in things that aren t really there. My response may seem humorous, but my advice is sure to help if followed to a tee. Now let s take a look at your issue, Mark. You are very lucky on two fronts. The first is that you even saw the unicorn, which I am going to name Uni, and second, that Uni didn t immediately gouge your eyes out. Most people don t realize that unicorns are vicious and violent creatures. I am not sure where they got their docile and tranquil reputation. Only mighty dragons are known to have worse tempers. unicorns violent tendencies would be the main reason that you shouldn t keep it. It might snap at any moment. The fact that Uni is a baby might have something to do with its lack of a violent reaction. I will need to do some research on that. Is the violence a learned behavior, and if it is, where do they learn it? When does the change occur? Do unicorns beha- Sorry, you know me, my How Do I Become Part of The Florida Youth Council? The Florida Youth Council is a group of youth (between the ages of 15 and 17) and emerging leaders (between the ages of 18 and 30) with disabilities or special health care needs that live in Florida. The Florida Youth Council is all about getting youth and emerging leaders involved in self-advocacy, peer mentoring and other activities that will improve the quality of life for youth and emerging leaders with disabilities in Florida. The program empowers youth and emerging leaders to decide what issues are important brain just gets to turning and I lose track of what I am talking about. Haha Now let s get back to your issue. The next reason you should get rid of Uni is that an adult unicorn has a huge appetite. They have been known to eat twice as much as an elephant. Think about that it is a lot. Uni s appetite might actually solve the issue all together. Unicorns only stay around an area as long as there is enough food. Uni will soon be running out of food. I hope this has been helpful. Be careful with Uni. He just might send his horn through your gut haha I am just kidding, but do be careful. Now, for everyone else who is dealing with things that are not really there, such as fairies, zombies, and the dog who ate your homework, feel free to send me, the great Professor Linguine, a letter.
