I guess we could say. Steve West: 00:11 Well right now I own a foundation repair business. Megan Dillard: 00:17 And it's district 15 that you just won the seat primary for the Missouri House? Yes. So why were you interested in running for any kind of political position? Steve West: 00:28 I've always been political, a bit of a talk show junkie my whole life, but this particular seat, uh, there was no republican even filed for the seat in the last election and I was incensed at Governor Greitens. I wanted him out and so I decided to file because I didn't want it to go unfilled. Of course there was three other guys had filed so it turned into be a kind of a free for all. Steve West: 00:53 It's every two years, is that right? Yes. Okay. So I did, I noticed that there were three other people that you ran against, but you won with a landslide. Steve West: 01:01 Yes. Forty nine percent of the vote. What do you think that is attributed to? Steve West: 01:07 Well, I work hard and I'm very dedicated when I, whenever I take on a project, I work at it and the message, you know, I've, I've had a lifelong of experiences that I want to bring to the table. Steve West: 01:23 There are four issues that I want to address. Islam: I don't think people fully understand it, but I don't believe, um, it should be considered as a religion. Steve West : 01:34 It really is a political movement masquerading as religion. Steve West: 01:38 One of the primary tenants of Islam is to create an Islamic state, a theocracy, where clerics have jurisdiction over the citizenry and we don't believe that in this country. Other issues with regards to Islam: the way they treat women; they don't believe in free speech. As a matter of fact, if I were in a Muslim country speaking this way, I could be under a fatwa or death sentence. 1

2 Steve West: 02:03 Not to mention Jihad, which calls for them to make war on infidels. So this is not something that's compatible with our constitution. And I want to say, you know something, Steve West: 02:18 These people are trying to create a kingdom in this world, but you know something, if that's what they're trying to accomplish, this is not a religion. This is a political movement. This is a political ideology. Steve West: 02:30 If you're trying to create, you know, looking for spiritual salvation and a kingdom in the next world, that's religion. But when you're trying to create an earthly kingdom, now that I would consider a political movement. Megan Dillard: 02:43 You had to know when going public with these ideas that you were going to face some kind of backlash. People who are the Anti Defamation League or people who are all-encompassing. How do you handle that? Steve West: 02:57 Well, it just runs off of me. It doesn't bother me. People agree with me. People see what's going on. They see these no go zones in Europe and the United States. They see what happens when Islam gains the majority. What it does. Steve West: 03:11 Now, I will say that most Muslim people are wonderful people and quite frankly, they're thrilled to be here because they don't have to live under that kind of a system. But the problem is they're afraid of the system themselves, even when they're in the United States, because if they speak out and renounce Islam, there could be severe punishment. These people can be incredible and a lot of them, they're so happy to be here, but this, this ideology should not qualify as a religion. New Speaker: 03:45 Let's talk about the thing that everybody is all up in arms about the "Hitler was right" statement. Steve West: 03:51 Okay, so I do a radio show and I didn't know if they were going to make. I really have tried to keep that radio show on the qt because I knew it was controversial. Steve West: 04:01 I go places that most people wouldn't go. But in a show that I broadcast, I don't know, several months ago I said, unfortunately the keyword, unfortunately Hitler was right about 2

3 what was taking place in Germany and who was behind it. And so now they have taken that line out of context. And all you hear now is that a bigoted Republican primary candidate now says Hitler was right. Steve West: 04:32 And you know, the problem that took place in Germany after World War One was the communist took over Germany and then Nazi-ism was a response to that. And so, you know, and then you know, you have to look at communism and again, where, where the origins of communism, and I'm not going to go there, but that's what, that's what had everybody in Germany so exercise and why they gravitated towards Nazism. Steve West: 04:57 Now they're going to say that I'm a Nazi. I'm not a Nazi. I don't believe in racial supremacy. I don't believe in anything that Hitler did. Steve West: 05:04 I don't believe it, you know, in, in the Aryan Nation, you know, racial supremacy is abhorrent. I absolutely detest it. And that's it. Steve West: 05:15 I believe in our Declaration of Independence that all men are created equal. But there are ideologies that go contrary to that. And you know, I'm not going to go there here in this interview either. Megan Dillard: 05:28 Okay. That helps me. And I think that will allow people to understand where that statement came from. Steve West : 05:34 So you want to go to school choice? Megan Dillard: 05:39 Do you hate Jewish people? Steve West: 05:42 Not at all. Not at all. But there's, there's, there's parts of this ideology that people don't understand. And so, um, you know, Jewish people just like, you know, these Muslims that come over here, you know, there's, there's, you know, they, some wonderful talents and wonderful things they can contribute. This is not about individuals at all. It's about ideologies. Steve West: 06:05 Some of these ideologies, um, you know, that really, are political movements masquerading as religion. New Speaker: 06:13 Do you believe you were able to secure 49 percent of the vote because there are people who agree with your ideology? Yes they do. But know it wasn't just these two issues. 3

4 Steve West: 06:25 Pornography is a stain on this country. Pornography is a scourge. And so now there's been enough studies with porn that they find that pornography is extremely addictive and it gets the same results that drug addiction gets. It causes a condition called hypofrontality, identical with drug addicts. Steve West: 06:49 It's extremely addictive, especially to young people. And so in Israel, Israel has instituted a program that blocks Internet porn. The only people that can access Internet porn in Israel have to prove they're 21 years old and to apply for it. So no longer are kids coming home from school and getting Internet porn or going to the library or getting it on their phones. Steve West: 07:13 It's not popping up. They are protecting their children from Internet pornography. It is extremely addictive. It is dangerous. Steve West: 07:21 And you know something? You know, the porn has been dangerous since its inception. You know, Dr. James Dobson did an interview with Ted Bundy the night or the afternoon before he was executed. And he said, 'Ted, how did this happen? What brought you here?' And he said, 'Pornography is how I started. It was really yes, the inner you look it up. Steve West: 07:43 Dr James Dobson did an interview with Ted Bundy the day before he was executed. And he said, 'How did this happen?' He said, 'It started with pornography.' Steve West: 07:53 Jeffrey Dahmer, you know, look up interviews with Jeffrey Dahmer. He will tell you the same thing. He fed his obsession with pornography first and he moved on from there. These sexual predators today, they're starting with pornography and so we've got to do something about it. Steve West: 08:12 Especially for our young people, you know, they're being flooded with hormones. The last thing they need is pornography. Steve West: 08:19 So the next issue that I want to talk about is school choice. You know, today, in our public schools, they all have LGBT clubs and by the way, LGBT staff. With alternative sex ed that's taking place in our schools, we're being told that this is just a wonderful lifestyle and it's not. And a lot of parents really don't want their children around it. They just want them to get a good education. 4

5 Steve West: 08:46 They're being flooded with gender confusion at the very time when they're just getting the hormones themselves and they don't understand what's taking place. Steve West: 08:58 The truth is homosexual and LGBT lifestyles are unhealthy. Steve West: 09:03 You know, I, I donate blood. I've donated, I'll have almost 13 gallons this year. Every time I go to the blood bank, the first question they ask me is if I've ever had sex with a man once in my lifetime. It is an extremely risky, unhealthy behavior. Steve West: 09:22 And so about eight months ago they tried to say that, you know, we're going to allow these people to donate blood as long as they've been celibate for a period of time, but that soon went by the wayside. That didn't happen because there's just too much risk. Some of these viruses can remain latent in these people for months and years, but when they donate blood and it's given to someone with a weakened immune system, it can, it can come out and that the liability is just too great. Steve West : 09:51 It's not a good lifestyle, but you know, we're not going to tell our kids that, hey, this can be the result of this kind of. Steve West: 09:59 So we're teaching alternative sex ed, oral sex, anal sex, whatever feels good, as if there's no consequence and there is consequence. Steve West: 10:08 So these are issues that I'll talk about. One other issue that I want to get to is welfare reform. Steve West: 10:15 You know, anybody who has been around anyone with a drug addiction problem will tell you that the worst thing you can do is be an enabler. The worst thing you can do is give these people money so that they can continue their addiction. But that is what our welfare system has become. Steve West: 10:34 Generation after generation, drugs are rampant in these projects. We need to have drug testing for welfare recipients and they also should be banned from the casinos. Steve West: 10:47 There isn't anybody in this country that doesn't want to give their fellow Americans a helping hand for groceries and for housing or whatever it is for them to get back on their feet. But when they're taking that money and squandering it at the boats or spending it on drugs, that's a different thing. We're not helping them now. We are basically enabling them with these lifestyles that are not responsible. 5

6 Steve West: 11:10 So I, you know, I wanna I want to make some changes. You know, in the Republican party, everybody wants to talk about gun control. And they want to talk about Roe versus Wade. That's fine. I'm there, but I think there's some places we can go in this election that will go across across the aisle and a lot of people that have been voting Democrat will agree with these points. Steve West: 11:33 You just answered my next question. I was going to ask if you if you win the general election, what you plan to do with your... Steve West: 11:40 Absolutely. I'm going to make these things an issue. School choice. We've got to give our parents back the charge of their children and let them decide what's best for their kids. The public schools have gotten way out of hand. Not that they don't have some good programs. Steve West: 11:56 I gotta tell you something. High School sports in our public schools is outstanding. These coaches take some kids that are sometimes from broken families and very distressed situations and they turned them around. These coaches. And, and here's the thing about the coaches. Steve West: 12:10 The coaches have to justify their salaries every time their kids take the field because competition is what makes these athletes so outstanding. But in our education, we don't have that competition. If parents got to decide where their child was going to go to school and there was competition for those students, you'd see education in this country flourish. Steve West: 12:31 You'd see parents wanting the best education, no holds barred, and they would find it and schools would open. Not only that, but the public schools would do a better job and be more responsive. Megan Dillard: 12:43 So how do you handle. Do you have a YouTube page, by the way? I wrote skits for my fraternity and for Rockhurst College. I have always had this creative spark and so I created this character for a skit that I wrote for a real estate realtor event that took place quite a while ago. That character, his name originally was Jaime Geraldo Rodriguez Coonte Kitty O'brian. So, he was an all-inclusive, politically correct guy, you know, for everybody to laugh at. And by the way, that particular skit went over extremely well. New Speaker: 01:31 I revived that character and renamed him. Jaime Geraldo Rodriguez Coonte Kitty O'brian Hussein Osama Bama. And then I produced a bunch of song parodies and satires and you'll hear some of those on my shows also. Megan Dillard: 01:49 Is that where the name Jack Justice comes from? Steve West: 01:52 Yeah, I broadcast under the name Jack Justice. I just, you know, it's controversial and I really wanted to keep it separate, but they made it public. So now, so now let's, let's, let's get it on. Megan Dillard: 02:03 So what do you say to the people who saved your racist bigot and these old American values? You know something. Here's the thing: Voltaire said, 'You know, who is in charge by who it is that you cannot criticize.' 7

8 New Speaker: 02:20 So when I'm, when I go out and criticize Israel, when I criticize Islam and the homosexual movement, the LGBT movement, I mean there's, there is a, a, a restraint on free speech in this country. New Speaker: 02:36 They don't want these discussions to be had and a lot of people are having these discussions privately, but now I have made them public. Megan Dillard: 02:46 Are you worried about backlash and to go into hiding people? They don't scare me. I got to tell you that they don't scare me. New Speaker: 02:55 I'm, I'm, I'm not worried in the least. New Speaker: 02:59 These people, if they want to find out where I'm at or how to get ahold of me, they certainly can do it, but lay off of my family. That I would like to say. New Speaker: 03:18 My marriage with my children. Uh, it blew up. It was a disaster. And so yeah, that happens. You know, there was a time in my life that we were broke. Ninety percent of divorce in this country is as, as result of money problems and when the economy went south, during TARP and during the bailout in, in the, in the later parts of the Bush administration, a real estate was in the tank and I had to find a way to support myself. Steve West: 03:50 That's when I took a job at one of the casinos dealing Blackjack and that's when I began to see these welfare recipients flooding into the casino once a month when their welfare checks arrive. New Speaker: 04:03 I did things to support myself, you know, in the short term until I could get back on my feet. I delivered pizza for awhile. You know, you just do what you have to do. Working nights and still continue to try and make money during the day somehow to make ends meet. And I did settle those debts. So that's all behind me, and there are a lot of people that can relate to that. You know, our lives come with ups and downs and we have to deal with it. Megan Dillard: 04:27 So how does that translate back to your family though? New Speaker: 04:31 I'll tell you what, the social media is so devastating to young people, especially. Steve West: 04:51 Peer pressure is extremely sensitive for young people. You're my age, you don't care. But young people, you know, their whole lives revolve around it some sometimes. 8

9 New Speaker: 05:02 It has been hard on my kids and I've, I've told them to try and divorce themselves from it somehow they need to extricate themselves from it. I can take it. I'm not worried about it, I can handle it, but I would tell anyone that is upset with me, they certainly don't. New Speaker: 05:21 Um, they're not going to side with me. And that's fine. I understand that. New Speaker: 05:26 But I am getting lots of support. I had a young Jewish man send me an yesterday from Jerusalem. He had seen my story in the Jerusalem Post and he said, just like I said about Hitler, he said, 'Unfortunately, Steve, you're right about what's taking place in this country and in Israel.' Steve West: 05:49 But that's not what this campaign is about. This campaign is about these four issues that I want to address. Islam not be considered a religion. Pornography needs to be banned, needs to be blocked and our children protected. Public schools are doing a terrible job now we need school choice and we need welfare reform. These are four things that we can do to really make a difference in our society that I think I can get a, you know, some, some pretty good support on. The public schools will be the toughest. New Speaker: 06:20 (Does it bother you at all that you don't have the support of the Missouri Gop or Clay County Republicans?) You know, something that I don't care. When I, when I took this job, I'm going to go to Jeff City, I'm going to raise hell, and you know, they may try and block me out, but people, people are sympathetic to these issues. New Speaker: 06:43 They see these issues and none of these other politicians will dare go there. They also have been subject to political correctness and they don't dare make these arguments. It's about time we made these arguments. Steve West: 07:13 We need to have a discussion as to what should be considered a religion because when a religion has political objectives; Christ said, my kingdom is not of this world, but if you're trying to have an earthly kingdom in this world, such as what Scientology does, and by the way, that's what Israel is. It is a theocracy, but it's not only just a theocracy, it's a theocracy with an ethnic component. They have a racial barrier to immigration in Israel and guess what? If you don't belong to the chosen race or the chosen religion, you can be walled off in Gaza trying to get out, throwing rocks and the Israelis are firing, shooting at you, like shooting fish in a barrel. That's what happens with a theocracy. 9

10 If you don't belong to the chosen religion or the chosen race, you're a second class citizen in that country. That's a problem and you know something in this country, all men are created equal and thank God for that. 10
