2 form is everything. content is everything. we live in times when each thought comes with a visual. not a visual thought. a visual. to make the thought disappear. slowly.

3 were there times when visuals were another form of thought? when without image description they were worth just as much as a spoken sentence, a written line? thoughts seek form. what does form seek?

4 i feel like trying to sell my project. how many people will be involved, how many can be reached? numbers and plans and diagrams. prospected outcomes, posed questions ideas vs. product, ideas become products. selling commodities.

5 once i was invited to a conference. no powerpoint allowed. no slides. no images. if they were mere illustratons. when thinking about additional content an image might bring to a talk, one soon realizes how few we need. or how much more interesting a non projected image can work. what is necessary. what is the real content.

6 collectivity in slides. images of demonstrations, interaction in participatory art. images of people facing eac other or facing their cause or struggle together. most of these images exclude the viewer. limited collectivity, nothing more to be said about it.

7 using the right keywords will get your attention. collectivity solidarity participatory intervention text writing authorship universalization education etc. each one who feels connected to one of these keywords might want to continue the conversation, or better, start it later on.

8 the medium is the message. is it?

9 i have never encountered a powerpoint or slideshow presentation which satisfied me on any level. aesthetics come into the game. how come we have to look at so much ugly design?

10 if there had not been 20 slides to chose, to adjust to 20 bits of comments, even in 400 s one can summarize one S intent, idea, on the surface, we are clicking through amazon s booklists a bit faster and migt discover a book which will inspire us.

11 sometimes when the timeframe is so short, i rush. my tongue stumbles along, making my thoughts fall apart. trying to make my point i look at myself speaking from outside. it calms me. i see no one is listening anyway.

12 i could have gone into economics. become a brooker. if i appreciated speed. instead i took up maths. no one doubts the existence of questions unsolved over centuries. we continue working.

13 imagine you would dare to interrupt. maybe impatiently asking: so what is your collective writing interventing all about? you won T. also since i ve not provided the title of my work so far. it should have been te first slide. but we are not talking in dialogue.

14 text is an obscure thing. i wish we could just go for a beer. sitting here, not living up to expectations feels so senseless. 400 s lost. imagine i had asked you to actually write just a sentence about collectivity in my notebooks. we would all be more satisfied.

15 today i bought material for my intervention. in croydon i realized, had to realize that we do live in a world of slides. signs as to hold on to our existence.

16 i went to three pechakucha nights. i stayed throughout two, left the third one early. i could not escape the feeling that all this is fake. all the interest sparked vanished during the few conversations afterwards, when most concepts fell apart.

17 now i am part of this. i hate the form. i don t get it. don t understand it. what are we to learn from it if selling is not our main goal.

18 once i gave an artist talk and was interrupted after 5 min: THIS IS BULLSHIT. it was te best feedback session i could have dreamt of.

20 so in the end i realize, the form takes over. avoid those forms that show you your place. when the timer and the changing image don t require you anymore. 400 s it is time for a cigarette.
