I know you get tired of hearing this but the near miss for ORD having to cancel due to lack of response should get everyone s attention. The folks at the Grey Eagle Board of Directors always hears the questions from you about why we are not getting younger pilots to join. How about us old folks (well, not SO old) going out of our way to support the organization and the folks that do all this work for us? Attend theses luncheons and retirement dinners. Service and other details: Obituary: USAIR Captain Henry Ross Shepard, 57, of Liberty, passed away Monday, April 11, 2016 at Wesley Long Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Pleasant Union United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Keith Newell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Ross was preceded in death by his father, John Wilbert Shepard, Jr. Ross is survived by his mother, Della Catherine Lambert Shepard; loving wife of 32 years, Susan Kivett Shepard; daughters, Caitlin Shepard and Shannon Shepard of Liberty; brother, John Timothy Shepard (Ronda) of Liberty; and sister, Catherine Von Clapp (Kem) of Burlington. In Moneta, Va at the Resurrection Catholic 1400hr. His wife, Anne is also asking for someone to give the Eulogy. Although I worked for many years in DCA with Wayne as his scheduler and always had a very high regard for him I feel that this should be someone who worked with him on his trips. They will have much more interesting story to tell I'm sure although he and I both enjoy working on antique cars and talking about them. Oz Lamonds American Airlines Celebrates 90 Years Soaring the Skies Spitfire A Wonderful way to make his dream come true! WWII Spitfire Pilot This is probably one of the best s I've had in a long time. Just watch the expression on his face as he watches himself. We owe a BIG thank you to men like him. 18 years old, all alone, behind enemy lines, no guns, no escort...and he gladly did it. They just don't make them like that anymore... It was truly the greatest generation...we owe them so much...

7 Parker: U.S. Industry Unlikely To Post Losses Again Hail! The experience was different than flying in the controlled conditions of an air race, Arch said. "In the middle of the mountains, you are rising and falling. You can't fly as close to the obstacles, which increases the radius, and, at around 300 km/h, things can get a bit tight. Every second, you have to be perfectly clear in your mind that you have wind turbines in front of you and need to know precisely what you are going to do next." In the end, Arch said, the flight was just as much fun as air racing, "with the added benefit that it's not about the time you clock." Gary, Just got back from Sun n Fun. Capt. Steve Jones, Chuck Berkebile, et al did a bang up job of hosting a hospitality area for APA and welcomed Grey Eagles. I only stumbled on it because I noticed a sign. They would love to have had more Grey Eagles drop in. It was a great gathering and chance to keep in touch with some real live active line pilots. Even ran into a few I used to fly with! Not sure the best way to get the word out to the troops, but they are having a similar hospitality center (free drinks and barbeque) at Oshkosh in July. This is definitely something worth mentioning. Just a Common Soldier -- Ger Campbell was visiting the Dublin Zoo with his wife and daughter where he filmed this intense fight between to huge tigers. It all started when one of them rudely attacks the other as she was taking a nap. Not a good idea, even for another tiger. I spent a little time with the Vietnam Resources link that SeaGore sent and found this film production of the Midway cruise. It is excellent for an amateur production of that day. It was made by an A-6 guy, John Stubbs, so it concentrates on the A-6 squadron VA-115 Arabs, however it shows all the planes in the wing at various times. You will see our type. The main thing is that it captures the cycle of ops on the flight deck. Chuck and I were flying the 300 series A-7s, VA-93. You will also see the VA-56 A-7 that Chuck and I waved into the barrier I think you were recording that day Chuck. Excellent sound track also.
