6 Mark and Mother In 1958 under the direction of the ascended master El Morya, Mark L. Prophet founded The Summit Lighthouse for the purpose of publishing the teachings of the ascended masters. The anointed messengers, Mark L. Prophet and Elizabeth Clare Prophet (whom we fondly call Mother) were trained by their Guru, El Morya, to receive the Word of the Lord in the form of both spoken and written dictations from the ascended masters. Beginning in the early 1960s the messengers began conducting quarterly conferences and other seminars where they delivered lectures and dictations from the ascended masters. Mark and Mother are pioneers of modern spirituality and are internationally renowned authors. Today The Summit Lighthouse carries on their legacy through publishing, outreach, seminars, Summit University retreats and quarterly conferences. 6 The ascended masters have asked us to conduct conferences/ retreats four times a year corresponding with the energies of the four cycles of the year New Year s, Easter, the Fourth of July and Columbus Day. Each cycle is an initiation for the turning of planetary as well as personal cycles and for holding the balance of light in the earth. The masters have told us that when we participate in a conference, we become a carrier of the light that is for the initiation of the lifewaves of the planet. Each conference is an opportunity for us to dip into the fount WHY WE HOLD CONFERENCES of the ascended masters consciousness through dynamic decrees, meditation and the recordings of profound dictations and lectures given through the Messengers of the Great White Brotherhood,* Mark and Elizabeth Prophet. Mark is now the ascended master Lanello and Elizabeth, known as Guru Ma or Mother, has passed on to higher octaves and we believe she has ascended. *The term white refers not to race but to the aura of white light that surrounds these immortals.

16 MENTOR TRAINING AGES: 16+ (by application only)* LOCATION: The River Retreat at the Royal Teton Ranch This two-day training is designed to prepare a group of teen and adult mentors to facilitate the TSL Teens United Retreat and the Knights and Ladies of the Flame Retreat as well as prepare mentors to facilitate local youth groups and retreats year-round. Mentors are key to the success of every youth retreat and year-around youth events in your local communities. From running team-building activities to leading bunk groups, you can help create the unique environment that makes youth events and retreats so special for all involved. * All those who are accepted into the mentor training are also required to attend the Teen Retreat as a continuation of their training. 17 HIKING The backcountry of the Royal Teton Ranch, because of its elevation and location in the Rocky Mountains, presents unique challenges to those who are not familiar with the terrain and locale. For this reason, only hikes authorized by The Summit Lighthouse will be allowed in the backcountry of the Royal Teton Ranch from June 16 through July 18. You can learn more about hiking at the Information Booth, where you can also register for the July 6 hike. The booth is located along the walkway between King Arthur s Court and the cafeteria. 17

18 On July 6, the day after the conference, Maitreya Mountain is reserved for special guided hikes. If you plan to join the hike, please register at the Information Booth by July 4 and pay the $5 fee to cover hike expenses. Because of the rigors of the backcountry, high altitude, weather and wildlife (such as bears and mountain lions), The Summit Lighthouse and its authorized hiking guides have the latitude to deter- mine whether a participant is fit for the pilgrimage to Maitreya Mountain or any other backcountry hike on ranch property. Students must pick up their workbooks on Saturday, July 6 (2 6 p.m.) or Sunday, July 7 (9:30 a.m. 1:30 p.m.) in the Office Building. Required textbook: Lords of the Seven Rays, by Mark L. Prophet and Elizabeth Clare Prophet (Summit University Press). FAMILY INFO FOR SUMMIT UNIVERSITY Teens 15 years and older are welcome to attend Summit University at the adult fee. There is a co-op program for parents with children under age 6 and a feebased recreation program for children ages 6 to 16. Children may not be left unsupervised on campus at any time. SU RECREATION PROGRAM (concurrent with SU) Children and youth, ages 6 16, are welcome to participate in this all-day program while the parents are attending SU. TEACHINGS OF THE ASCENDED MASTERS Summit University July 7 11 THE MAGNET OF THE HEART A Mystical Retreat to Embrace Your Christhood and Share Your Path with the World Games, crafts and several field trips to area attractions are all part of this fun program. Participants will attend SU during the day and house together at the River Retreat. 20 2013 Summer Events INFORMATION location The conference, Summit University seminar, Teen Retreat, and Knights and Ladies of the Flame Retreat are held at The Summit Lighthouse headquarters site on the Royal Teton Ranch. Known as the Inner Retreat, the ranch is located in Corwin Springs along the Yellowstone River just north of Gardiner, Montana, and borders the spectacular Yellowstone National Park. For more than three decades, the ascended masters, their messengers and chelas have conducted summer conferences on this beautiful and sacred land. 20

21 HEALTH NOTICE To make certain that everyone who attends conferences at the Inner Retreat has a safe and enjoyable stay, we ask that you carefully consider the following before you make plans to come: (1) In the event that you or a member of your family needs medical assistance while attending the conference, please be aware that nursing or medical care is not available at the Inner Retreat. The nearest hospital, in Livingston, Montana, is an hour s drive from the conference site. The closest medical facility is a 30-minute drive to Mammoth, Wyoming, in Yel lowstone National Park. Ambulance service is also available from Mammoth. Rural ambulance service is available from nearby Gardiner, Montana, and response times can be 20 minutes or longer. (2) The conference site is located at an altitude of 5,000 feet. Some people who live near sea level can experience shortness of breath at this altitude. Conferees often walk outside in hot, windy conditions over some what rugged terrain. The weather can also be cool or rainy. (3) We strongly recommend that individuals affected by altitude or with other chronic health conditions consult a physician before attending our programs. SPECIAL SERVICES SIMULTANEOUS TRANSLATIONS The conference program and Summit University will be translated into Spanish, Portuguese and Russian. If you require translation, please bring an FM radio with headphones. HEARING CHALLENGED The conference program will be transmitted in English for those who have difficulty hearing. To take advantage of this service, please bring an FM radio with headphones. DRESS CODE In honor of ascended masters, angels and beings of light, we embrace a dress code that is casual though neat, modest and clean for all events and locations affiliated with The Summit Lighthouse. Conferees are asked to follow the dress code when at the Inner Retreat. Clothing not allowed includes muscle shirts, spaghetti straps or tank tops, short shorts, or anything tight-fitting or low-cut, with the exception that modest shorts and swimwear may be worn for outdoor recreation. You may want to bring at least one dressy outfit for special events such as the Fourth of July waltz. PETS Because of the large number of people and especially children at the Inner Retreat during the conference, pets are not allowed. Thank you for abiding by this policy. 21

22 Logistics HOW TO GET HERE BY AUTOMOBILE The Royal Teton Ranch is located in rural Montana 8 miles north of Gardiner, Montana, between Yellowstone National Park and Livingston. Access from the north: Take I-90 to Exit 333 in Livingston. Proceed south on U.S. Highway 89 for 45 miles (just past mile marker 8). Turn right on Cin na bar Basin Road and cross the bridge. Then turn right and follow the signs to Ranch Headquarters to register in the Office Building. BY BUS Greyhound offers bus service to Bozeman. Cinnabar Basin Road BY AIR Fly on Delta, United, Horizon Air, Alaska, Frontier or Allegiant to Bozeman, 80 miles from the Royal Teton Ranch. RENTAL CARS Please call rental agencies in Bozeman directly: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty. Rental cars are in high demand during the summer make arrangements early. 22

23 SHUTTLE SERVICE FOR ARRIVALS/DEPARTURES We provide limited shuttle service between the Bozeman airport, Bozeman bus depot, and lodging locations in Glastonbury North and South residences (at or below Capricorn or Arcturus Road elevations ONLY), Sphinx, Royal Teton Ranch, and Gardiner motels. ARRIVALS from the airport and bus depots: June and July 6 DEPARTURES: July 6 7 and July RESERVATIONS required by JUNE 7 to ride arrival and departure shuttles. Call conference registration at or No reservations accepted without payment. FARES: $55 one way per adult for Bozeman when reservations are made on or before June 7 for the above travel dates. Children aged 4 11 ride for half price; under age 4 ride free. Complete arrival, departure and lodging information required for discounted fees. After JUNE 7, seating limited: one-way shuttle fee will be $65. We will do our best to accommodate your schedule, especially if you notify us before June 7. Unfortunately we cannot commit to timely shuttle service in all situations. For example, those with unusual arrival or departure times may need to spend a night in Bozeman. When you arrive and check in at Registration, you must confirm departure arrangements at the Transportation Table to assure a seat on a departure shuttle. CANCELLATIONS: Shuttle cancellation before June 19 will be fully refunded. After June 19, 50% can be refunded when cancellation is communicated at least 48 hours in advance. One-way prices: $1.00 to East Gate, Sphinx, Ranch Office and Gardiner motels, $5.00 to Glaston bury. Please pay cash to the driver. 23

24 INNER RETREAT EAST GATE CAMPGROUND The East Gate Campground is adjacent to the Yel lowstone River and conveniently located relative to conference events. Restroom and shower facilities are nearby. Your options include: Staying at a campsite with your own camping equipment. (Campsites under the trees may not be available this summer.) Bringing a sleeping bag and sleeping in a dormitory tent. Parking an RV (no hookups available). Temperature range: Possible lows in 30s F to highs in the 90s F. Appropriate clothing and sleeping bag are essential. FEE: $20 per night for all options. 25 WHERE TO EAT The Ranch Headquarters Cafeteria serves delicious healthy breakfasts, lunches and dinners with your choice of a meat or vegetarian entrée, salad, vegetables, and more. (To benefit our seniors, a meal discount will be applied by the cashiers when smaller portions are selected.) Save by purchasing meal tickets when you preregister! If you want to do all that you can for the environment and our elemental friends, please consider bringing your own plate, bowl, mug, and utensils. The Snack Bar offers snacks throughout the day and is operated as a fundraiser for Thomas More School, a private local school. THE LIGHTHOUSE RESTAURANT will be serving delicious dinners.
