1 A Newsletter for Radio Maria USA -- National Volume 6, Number 6 Radio Maria USA August, 2013 Blessed is She who believed (Luke 1:45) Dear Family of Radio Maria, This month we celebrate the great Solemnity of the Assumption of Our Blessed Mother into Heaven. In his encyclical Lumen Fidei, given for the Year of Faith, Our Holy Father, Pope Francis, says: The Mother of The Lord is the perfect Icon of Faith; as Saint Elizabeth would say, Blessed is She who believed (Lk 1:45). Mary is not only an example of a person who has Faith; She is our greatest advocate with Her Son, Jesus, to help us grow in Faith. The doctrine of her glorious Assumption into heaven is the crowning glory of a life lived in the greatest faith possible even in the face of terrible trials and suffering. Radio Maria carries her holy name: Maria. And she carries us on our journey of faith to keep us moving towards her Son, lifting us up when we fall, encouraging, inspiring, and sometimes correcting us, as every Mother does. The Solemnity of the Assumtion celebrates the end of Mary s earthly journey and the beginning of her heavenly reign. As we pray in the Liturgy: Where she has gone we hope to follow. We rejoice not only to follow but to have her as our companion and guide along the way. That is our mission here at Radio Maria to bring the companionship of Mary and her Son to all who are on the way to the same heavenly home. Can you please help us continue our Mission for Our Lady by making a special donation at this time? We have had several unexpected and emergency expenses to keep our broadcast system on the air. Please help us with whatever donation you can afford. We know that Our Lord and His Holy Mother will reward you!, O.F.M. Father Robert Young, O.F.M. Program Director, Radio Maria US Monthly Messages from Our Lady July 2, 2013 Message to Mirjana Dear children, with a motherly love I am imploring you to give me the gift of your hearts, so I can present them to my Son and free you free you from all the evil enslaving and distancing you all the more from the only Good my Son from everything which is leading you on the wrong way and is taking peace away from you. I desire to lead you to the freedom of the promise of my Son, because I desire for God s will to be fullfilled completely here; and that through reconcilliation with the Heavenly Father, through fasting and prayer, apostles of God s love may be born apostles who will freely, and with love, spread the love of God to all my children apostles who will spread the love of the trust in the Heavenly Father and who will keep opening the gates of Heaven. Dear children, extend the joy of love and support to your shepherds, just as my Son has asked them to extend it to you. Thank you. July 25, 2013 Message to Marija Dear children! With joy in my heart I call all of you to live your faith and to witness it with your heart and by your example in every way. Decide, little children, to be far from sin and temptation and may there be joy and love for holiness in your hearts. I love you, little children, and accompany you with my intercession before the Most High. Thank you for having responded to my call. 3 Fall Maria-thon (Sept ) to honor the Holy Name of Mary Radio Maria will honor the Holy Name of Mary during the four-day semi-annual Fall Maria-thon, to be held Sept After the most sacred name of Jesus, the name of Mary is so rich in every good thing, that on earth and in heaven, there is no other from which devout souls receive so much grace, hope, and sweetness. The Blessed Raymond Jordano said, However hardened and diffident a heart may be, the name of this most Blessed Virgin has such efficacy, that if it is only pronounced, that heart will be wonderfully softened. With that in mind, and in prayerful preparation for the success of the Maria-thon, Radio Maria will recite the Novena of the Most Holy Name of Mary, several times throughout the day, beginning Sunday, Sept 8 through Monday, Sept. 16. Please join us on the air, as we pray this devotion. O Immaculate Mary, Virgin Most Powerful, I beseech thee, through that immense power which thou has received from the Eternal Father, obtain for me purity of heart, strength to overcome the enemies of my soul and the special favor which I implore in my present necessity: (Here mention your request) Mother most pure, forsake me not, despise not my prayer, and graciously hear me for God s glory, thy honor and the welfare of my soul. Hail Mary... O Virgin Mary, my Mother, through that ineffable wisdom bestowed upon thee by the Incarnate Word of God, I humbly beseech thee, obtain for me meekness and humility of heart, a perfect knowledge of the Divine Will, and strength to accomplish it always. O Mary, Seat of Wisdom, as a tender Mother lead me on the path of Christian virtue and perfection. Enlighten and enable me to do what is most pleasing to thy Beloved Son and to obtain my petition. Hail Mary... O Mother of Mercy, Mother of penitent sinners, I stand before thee sinful and sorrowful, beseeching thee through the immense love given thee by the Holy Ghost for us poor sinners, obtain for me true and perfect contrition for my sins, which I hate and detest with all my heart because I love God. Mother most merciful, help me in my present necessity. Turn then thy eyes of mercy towards us, O Clement, O Loving, O Sweet Virgin Mary. Hail Mary... +Amen Novena to the Most Holy Name of Mary To be recited several times daily on Radio Maria September 8 - September 16 The Maria-thon will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 17 (the Feast of the Stigmata of St. Francis) and end on Saturday, Sept. 21 (The Feast of St. Matthew the Evangelist). The Feast of the Most Holy Name of Mary is celebrated on Thursday, Sept. 12. Radio Maria hosts two Maria-thons each year -- one in the Spring and one in the Fall. Since we do not receive funding from any church, organization, or diocese, we are 100 percent dependent on the generosity of our listeners. So we host these Maria-thons twice a year, in an effort to generate funds to keep us in operation. You have always come through for us, and we are so truly grateful for your generosity. Stay tuned to Radio Maria during our Fall Maria-thon and call us any time at Feel free to call in too, with any testimonies or comments about what Radio Maria means to you. May our Holy Mother Mary and all the Angels and Saints help us to make it a great success! Thursday, Aug. 15 Feast of the Assumption of Mary into Heaven By the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, and by our own authority, we pronounce, declare, and define it to be a divinely revealed dogma: that the Immaculate Mother of God, the ever Virgin Mary, having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory. -- Pope Pius XII, Nov. 1, 1950
