7 Becoming Catholic What is RCIA? The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a program open to anyone interested in becoming Catholic through Baptism, Holy Eucharist and Confirmation. RCIA is a process of conversion that begins with a period of inquiry and concludes with full initiation into the Church. RCIA is a call to a deeper walk with Jesus, a walk that will continue for the rest of your life as you grow in love for Jesus and a desire to be His witness in your world. For more information contact: MARY GULDE, Steward for Adult Spirituality; MaryG@StMaryMagdalen.org Who can participate? RCIA is for you if: you have never been baptized into any faith; you have been baptized into another Christian faith tradition and have a desire to explore the Catholic faith with an interest in becoming Catholic; you are baptized Catholic, but have not received the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist and/or the Sacrament of Confirmation; you are 8-18 years old and have not been baptized in any faith, and want to become a full member of the Catholic Church. What will be expected of me? attendance active participation reflecting on the Bible sharing your personal faith journey exploring history and traditions of the Catholic faith How do I get started? Your first step will be a meeting with Mary Gulde, Steward for Adult Spirituality. In this conversation, you will discern how the Church can best meet your spiritual needs. When do we meet? St. Mary Magdalen RCIA meets twice weekly: Sunday & Wednesday. We meet at the Church on Sundays and in the Parish Life Center on Wednesday. Times vary. There is no charge for RCIA classes.
