2 WELCOME. We re glad to gather together as a community of faith today. No matter where you are on the journey of faith, you are welcome here, to join in worship and service. All are invited to a time of refreshment and conversation immediately following worship in St. Andrews Hall (down the steps outside the sanctuary, and to the left). If you are new to this community of faith, we rejoice in your presence with us. Remember, we re not strangers, but rather friends who journey together, following the Lord Jesus Christ. 4 PRAYER OF CONFESSION Silence Almighty God, we are not always people who live by faith. We know that we were created in your image, but we treat ourselves and each other in ways that do not honor your presence within us. We know your laws and your commandments, but we choose to disobey you and to act in ways that harm our neighbors. We hear your call to reach out to those most in need, but instead we turn our backs on them and on you. Forgive us, O God, and help us day by day to become more faithful followers and the people you created us to be. In the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen. Please refer to the website, for further information on activities. 1 st Sunday of the Month Collections SHARE MONTHLY FOOD CONTRIBUTIONS - Remember to bring your canned and dry food donations to the Narthex TODAY. We deliver the contributions to SHARE. SHARE serves people in our area, and there is a great need for non-perishable foods. Please no open or out-of-date products. DEACONS FUND - Following worship TODAY, the Deacons will receive contributions for the Deacons Fund in the Narthex as you leave the Sanctuary. The Deacons Fund is used to provide short-term assistance to those in our community who have emergency needs. EXTENDED SERVING OF THE COMMUNION OF THE CHURCH - TODAY our Elders and Deacons will bring communion to those who are unable to be with us in worship. This is an extension of the blessing and fellowship of the Lord s Table. If you know of someone who would like to receive communion, contact Pastor Stephany or speak with a member of the Extended Serving of Communion Task Force: Connie Church, Lois Dokken, Claire Grossi, Doug McGuire, Mary Ann Philipp, Betty Yurkewitch. Bring beverage of your choice and wear your Hawaiian garb. THE SEARCH FOR A NEW INTERIM YOUTH COORDINATOR - has begun to succeed Elizabeth Steel who is headed to Princeton Seminary in the fall. SUMMER MOVIE NIGHT July 11, 6:30p.m, Fellowship Hall Spring has sprung, and Verne and his woodland friends awaken from their long winter's nap to discover that a large, green hedge has cropped up right through the middle of their once-natural habitat. Enter RJ, an opportunistic raccoon who explains that the world beyond the hedge is "the gateway to the good life" where peculiar creatures called humans live to eat, rather than eat to live. "For humans," RJ proclaims, "enough is never enough." Rated: PG (This movie has an ecotheme) NOTE FROM CAROLE HUSTON - I thank everyone at LPC for their generosity and the caring and thoughtful celebration of my time at Lewinsville.
