1 VISIT TO WASHINGTON D.C. and other Universities in USA The Council for Research in Values and Philosophy, Washington D.C. had organized a 5 week seminar on the theme: Religion: Key to Understanding Violence and Promoting Peace from 18 th August, 2014 till 19 th September. More than 15 scholars of Philosophy and Religion from around the world participated and read papers at the Seminar. Dr. Joshua presented a paper titled: Religious Diversity in India: Issues fostering violence and Instruments promoting peace. His other memorable experiences include: Becoming a reading member of the Library of Congress, visiting the White House, Washington Memorial, Pentagon on 9/11 memorial, and to the Museums of American History, Natural History. Dr. Kalapati also had the opportunity to visit Boston School of Theology to participate in a one day workshop and present the paper titled, Social Distinctions among Indian Christians at home and in diaspora: Some future directions on 20 th September in Boston, Mass. Harvard University is one of the most coveted places for any academician to visit. Fr Dr. Francis Clooney S.J., Director of the School of World Religions at the Harvard Divinity School was kind enough to discuss issues of academic collaboration between the Department of Philosophy and Centre for Peace Studies in MCC and the H.D.S. Dr Joshua had spent the last four days (Sept. 22 to 26 th ) in USA, visiting various academic institutions in New York, including the Columbia University on 26th. Thus ended a memorable visit of 45 days to the US, which was as memorable as it was academically rewarding.
