3 For even the Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. Mark 10:45 God has blessed us with yet another new year. We pray that this new year brings you a deeper relationship with God as you serve Him and share Him with others. This new year provides new opportunities for you to serve Him as you serve and minister to those around you. Set an example for your children by serving Jesus. Better yet, get them involved in serving Him as well. 4 JANUARY BIBLE FELLOWSHIP HIGHLIGHTS Happy New Year! There is no better New Years resolution than one that includes God in your every day living. Attending Bible Fellowship on Sunday mornings is so important, especially in training your child to serve God and not the world. Make Sundays your day to refuel and reenergize. Come and take in God s word so you can be prepared to deal with life s ups and downs. Show your child how important it is to put God first in all things. In January our children will continue learning that THERE IS NOTHING GOD CAN T DO as we learn about His plan to deliver His people out of Egypt. Even today, God has a plan for our lives and it s so important to learn more about God and how to serve him. See you in Bible Fellowship in 2019! According to the North American Mission Board website, the population of the Indianapolis metropolitan area is almost 2 million people. Of that number almost 58 percent are not affiliated with any religious body, which means the mission field is really big. Barry and Amy Rogers are church planters in Indianapolis. They have four children, Yonas, Titus, Fable and Justus; the children tell their friends about Jesus too. On Sunday evenings in January, Mission Friends will explore the sights and sounds of Indianapolis while learning about and praying for the Rogers family. Happy New Year from Mission Friends and Kids on Mission We invite children from ages 3 to grade 5 to join us on Sunday evenings at 5:30 p.m. Our Kids on Mission are always learning.

6 DOWN THE STREET AND AROUND THE WORLD Outreach is very important ministry in the life of a church. Growing our forever family at CLBC entails contacting our first time visitors and following up on these potential members, making sure they feel welcome and have all the necessary information about our church. Our reach316 team needs you. If you would like to be a part of this ministry team, please contact David Collet at or dcollet@pbswvcom. JANUARY FOOD PANTRY NEEDS Laundry Detergent Jelly Canned Tuna Crackers Toilet Paper Coupons are needed!! Please bring any unused newspaper coupons for food and toiletry items and place them in the grocery cart in the Family Life Center. Thank you! CARING ABOUT PEOPLE. CHRISTMAS BLESSING PROGRAM Thank you to all those who participated in our Christmas Blessings program. This year our members were given the opportunity to sponsor a child from our giving tree. In need families were identified through our local schools. Your generosity put smiles in the hearts of many this Christmas season. Children and their families were taken shopping at Kohl s where they were able to buy new clothes and a few toys. If you have never been shopping with one of these families, you should mark your calendar for next year and be prepared to be blessed as you walk along with them and help pick out items. It s a great opportunity to shine for Jesus and to share His love to those less fortunate. TYLER MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY SERVICES Our members also committed to bringing 245 jars of peanut butter that were used in the Tyler Mountain Community Services Christmas food box program. This year TMCS asked if neighboring churches and businesses could help donate specific items for the food boxes. In turn, these food boxes were delivered to the homes of needy families on December 21st right here in the Cross Lanes community. THANK YOU FOR CARING ABOUT OTHERS AND SHOWING GOD S LOVE...DOWN THE STREET!!

8 Men s Ministry PRAYER BREAKFAST January 19th 8:00 am -FLC Banquet Room Come out for fellowship, meditation, and of course prayer, with some coffee and bacon as a side order. We begin at 8:00 am in the FLC Banquet Room. Our men are urged to connect with this very important men s ministry. For more information, contact Kennon Chambers at kicham.1973@gmail.com or call (304) Every Man A Warrior is a discipleship initiative designed for Christian men that focuses on discipleship skills that last a lifetime. It is especially for those Christian men that know they can accomplish a true walk of faith with God s Spirit, working in fellowship with other Christian men; all striving for a closer walk with Christ. A dozen men have just finished the first of three books in this discipleship series, Walking with God. Pastor Seth discovered this discipleship program and because of the success of the first group we are going to be offering Walking with God again, beginning January 13 th, We hope you will come out and join us. Our second class is limited to a dozen, so sign up soon. You can sign up on-line or call the church office. Kennon Chambers will be facilitating Walking with God. So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Colossians 3:1 Our life in Christ is a ministry of stages: Crawl, Walk, and Run. A follower of Christ progresses over time. We must learn patience, anticipation, how to dream, make plans, and most of all, learn to hope with God that all of us will come before the Cross. If you know that you are not now where you ought to be; if you are certain that you can be more of what God is revealing, inviting, and wanting you to become, then come and join us in this exciting Walk with God and Cross Lanes Baptist Every Man A Warrior class on nine Sunday evenings, beginning January 13, 2019.
9 Women s Ministry The ladies ministry celebrated the Christmas season with a night of food, carols, games and exchanging Christmas ornaments at our get together on December 11. Stephanie Neidlinger shared a devotion with the group of 28 women. It was a great opportunity to have fun and get to know each other better. Here are a few pictures of the event. Prayer Sisters is an ongoing program for the Women s Ministry. There are brochures in both Welcome Centers at the church that describe the program. If you are interested in participating or have questions, please contact Heather Johnson ( ) or Terry Smarr ( ) We hope to see you at our next event on February 8, The CLBC ladies will be putting our own spin on Valentine s Day by focusing on God s love for us as women and how we are important in his ministry. There will be a short program and a dinner. We will be sending out more information as we get closer to the date, but please mark your calendar and plan to attend! There s always room for you and no one can take your place! A Look to the Future February 8, 2019 Women s Ministry Valentine Dinner April 6, 2019 Showers of Blessings Luncheon
