3 This year s convention theme is: Fresh Anointing The Hebrew word is Messiah and in the Greek it s Christ. Christ is in the New Testament 509 times and it means the anointed one. The Lord anointed His Son - for a purpose! The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. - Luke 4:18-19 God also anoints His people - for a purpose! But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. - 1 John 2:27 As we go through life, we speak of experiencing up s and down s as we serve the Lord. Fortunately, the Lord is ready and waiting to pour a fresh anointing upon those who will look to Him, and who will meet the conditions to receive His anointing. We need His fresh anointing, as individuals serving Him, and collective as His Church. 3
