4 The Call to Worship L: I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord, our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem. P: For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. L: Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek thy good. P: Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. L: Blessed are they that dwell in thy house, Lord I have loved thy habitation, the place where thy honor dwelleth. P: For the Lord is in His Holy Temple, Let all the earth keep silence before him. L; Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight O Lord my strength and my redeeer. All: O sing unto the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things, make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth sing praises. The Hymn of Praise - #191 - Glory To His Name Down at the cross where my Savior died, Down where for cleansing from sin I cried, There to my heart was the blood applied - Glory to His name! (Chorus) Glory to His name, Glory to His name; There to my heart was the blood applied - Glory to His name. I am so wondrously saved from sin, Jesus so sweetly abides within; There at the cross where He took me in - Glory to His name! Chorus O precious fountain that saves from sin, I am so glad I have entered in; There Jesus saves me and keeps me clean - Glory to His name! Chorus Come to this fountain so rich and sweet, Cast thy poor soul at the Savior s feet; Plunge in today, and be made complete - Glory to His name! Chorus The Affirmation of Faith I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ His only Son, Our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; the third day he rose from the dead, he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Universal Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
5 Celebration in Song The Responsive Reading - #569 Jesus Our Advocate Leader: These things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. People: And He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. Leader: Hereby we do know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. People: He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. Leader: Whoso keepeth His word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him. People: He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked. Leader: Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning: People: The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning. Leader: Again a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in Him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth. People: He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even unto now. Leader: He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. People: But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. Leader: Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God; People: Therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not. Leader: Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is. All: And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as He is pure. The Gloria Patri Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end, A-men, A-men

7 Reverend Aaron Crutison Sr. Reverend Aaron Crutison Sr. is an Associate Minister at Kyles Temple African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church located in Vallejo, California, where he recently served as Interim Pastor. He has been appointed by the Right Reverend Bishop Staccato Powell as Minister of The Male Investment Program for the Black Methodist United, which is a coalition of the AME, AME Zion and CME churches who have joined forces to create a Black Methodist Coalition to confront challenges facing young African American males in this country by training qualified mentors around the nation and world to target education, economics, health, wellness, and spirituality. Born the third of five children in the public housing projects of Memphis, Tennessee, he would later relocate with his mother and siblings to South Central Los Angeles at the age of 14. He is married to Suzanne Crutison, a union approaching 30 years, and is the proud father of four adult children: Aaron II, Cameron, Ashley and Taylor. They are most proud that all have attended college. The two boys are both college graduates, with Aaron II graduating from UC Riverside and Cameron recently graduating from UCLA. The two daughters will soon follow as Ashley is entering her senior year at Sacramento State University and Taylor is entering her sophomore year at Stanford University. As Deputy Director of Solano County s Child Welfare Services Division, he provides leadership and vision to a professional workforce responsible for keeping children safe from abuse and neglect while sustaining and strengthening families to keep children out of foster care when safely possible. He believes every child should have a loving, caring adult in their lives and a safe place they can call home. He earned a Bachelor s degree in Social Science with emphasis in Health Administration from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Masters of Public Administration degree from the University of San Francisco. He is also a member of various organizations and boards in his community. He is a Solano County First Five Commissioner, a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. where he has served as Acting General President and the 27 th Western Region Vice-President, and the former President of the University of California, Berkeley Black Alumni Association. Reverend Crutison is a social justice advocate, teacher, preacher, vocalist, and humble servant God has called to minister, save souls, and transform lives. He has traveled the world throughout his ministry utilizing theology and social policy to liberate and inspire the living word to resound in every Christian and Non-Believers. If you ask others about who he is, you will often hear, He is a child of God, a man who exemplifies compassion, and a voice for the voiceless. Yet, if you ask him, you will hear him say, I owe it all to God, I give Him all the Glory, for if it were not for the Lord on my side, I do not know where I would be.
