Pleasant Hill- (Barih Achukma) is a Methodist Church.;- - The year of,its organization is not known as the old members who first helped organize it have all died. But it dates back to territorial days. This'church was or the first meetings were being hem in private "homes about" four miles west of Caney, Indian Territory, and later two acres were set aside by the ^ovdmment forchurch site on the comer of an Indian's allotted land.. There is also a burial ground set aside for the cemetery and it has been used as burial ground to, the present time. It is claimed that another church had a claim on this property befor e the Methodists first moved to this new location, so in 1935 another tract of land was bought" from J. Milton Lee, the present owner of the land, and they have built a church and made other improvements on the new tract, and the old site reserved for this purpose had'been abandoned and used only as a cemetery. The name of the church is Pleasant Hill. There are about two hundred people that have been buried at this place, but there are Ao head stones on any of, the,graves

It ia claimed that there are about 200'people tha,t have been buried at this place. This is un- /J t j&ly 'true, yet there,are no head stones on any of the graves but about 31. Houses have been built over most of the graves but they have not been properly kept and they are in bad condition. The headstones and the inscriptions are;. THY WILL BE DONE. It is'not known as to when this r church was organized,- but the church book shows that Itr was In operation as far back as 1880 and the last meeting was held in 1912:. Altho there is nothing to show of the old,ground, fes it was,not ioce&ed on any reserved,, property. Hence when the land was allotted to the Choctaws, no provision was ever made about the church ground, <-
