PREACH THE WORD I. 2 Tim 4: I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: 2. Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. A. The Apostle Paul is giving his spiritual son; Timothy a revelation by which to build his ministry upon 1. The Preaching of The Word of God B. Many ministries, churches and believers have made the fatal Mistake of basing their life and ministry upon 1. various moves of God a. which may only last for a season 2. Thank God for His various Moves & manifesting of The Holy Spirit a. But, moves of God come and moves of God go 3. Jesus gives us a revelation that will keep our lives, churches and ministries relevant at all times & thru all season of life & ministry a. Matt 5:18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 4. Regardless of the season of what God may or may not be Doing a. Regardless of the season of life you may be going thru b. Regardless of the season you ministry or church may be in (1) There is one that that is constant (2) There is one thing that we must always do (3) 2 Tim 4:2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 1
II. Preaching The Word God is a key factor for building our lives, churches and ministries: or we could say: A. key for building our house 1. Preach The word with boldness: a. Acts 4:12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." 13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, And perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. b. Acts 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness. B. Lay foundations thru the preaching of the Word, that can withstand the storms of life and ministry 1. Matt 7:24"Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 2. Biblical truths we must preach in order to lay foundation= In our lives, churches and ministries: a. Heb 6:1Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 2 of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. (1) above lists: 6 FOUNDATIONAL DOCTRINES 2
C. Preach The Doctrine of Christ: 1. 2 John 9 Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. 10. if anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; a. Much of the church is bringing forth every doctrine, but DOCTRINE OF CHRIST (1) This includes: all biblical truths in regards to life and person of Jesus (a) From The virgin birth, to His deity, to His cross And much, much more (2) The Doctrine of Christ also include the literal teachings of Jesus Christ Himself found in the Gospels (3) Example of the Doctrine of Christ: (a) Matt 3:2 "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand! D. Preach the Apostle s Doctrine 1. Acts 2:42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. 2. Acts 2:46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 3. Acts 28:30 Then Paul dwelt two whole years in his own rented house, and received all who came to him, 31 preaching the kingdom of God and teaching the things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ with all confidence, 3. Col 1:28 Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. 3
E. Preach you vision / pattern & remain faithful to it in all seasons 1. Heb 3:1 Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, 2 who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house. III. Heb 3: 1& 2 Is speaking of Jesus as our Apostle & High Priest whom Is to be our confession: A. Partakers of our heavenly calling 1. This calling applies to every believer a. and part of that calling is to: PREACH THE WORD (1) be it thru pulpit ministry (2) or one on one witnessing B. We have come to the place of confessing things, more than we confess Jesus 1. Our first priority is to confess Him / Jesus C. Heb 3:2 speaks of Jesus being faithful to His house God appointed Him to, as Moses was faithful to the house he was appointed to: 1. Heb 3:6 but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are a. Jesus received The Word & Vision / Pattern from The Heavenly Father by which to build His house (1) John 12:50 Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak." (a) Jesus spoke / Preached The Word The Father gave Him Jesus spoke / Preached The Word The Spirit put in His mouth (1)1 Tim 4:2 Preach The Word (2) John 5:19 "Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. (a) Jesus was faithful to build His HOUSE according to the vision / Pattern the Heavenly father gave Him thru The Holy Spirit 4
(1) We must learn to apply these same principles to the House (which is our life / church / ministry) Gods has required of us to build for His glory: (2) We accomplish this the same way Jesus did: (a) We Preach The Word, The Holy Spirit puts in our mouth (b) which in turn enables us to build the House according to the Pattern / vision The Father shows us D. Hebrews 3:2 Moses was faithful in all His house 1. God put a Word in Moses mouth at the burning bush: a. Exodus 7:16, 8:1&20, 9:1&13, 10:3 (1) Let My people go (A) Moses had to 2 Tim 4:2 Preach The Word God gave him 2. Key: WE EACH MUST HAVE OUR PERSONAL BURNING BUSH EXPERIENCE a. Ex 3:3 Then Moses said, "I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn." 4 So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, "Moses, Moses!" And he said, "Here I am." (1) In order to receive The Word The Spirit of God desires to put into our mouth we must first do as Moses did: (a) HE HAD TO TURN ASIDE FROM HIS EVERY DAY ACTIVITIES VS 3 Moses was tending his flock (b) note vs 4 When God seen that Moses took the time to turn aside (1) Then God called unto Moses (2) We each must have that SECRET PLACE that we go to To get away from the flock: (a) so we can hear God calling unto us & placing a Word in our mouth (b) Thus enabling us to feed our flock with a relevant word (1) Ex 3:15 "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: 5
(2) After Moses heard the voice of God, it required a higher degree of surrender and commitment on his part (a) Moses responded: Here I am E. Heb 3:2 Moses was faithful in all His house 1. Moses received and built his house according to the vision / pattern The Heavenly Father showed him a. Ex 40:16 Thus Moses did; according to all that the Lord had commanded him, b. Acts 7:44 instructing Moses to make it according to the pattern that he had seen, c. Heb 8:5 as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, "See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain." (1) From the building of the tabernacle (2) to setting up the priesthood (a) By preaching The Word God put in His mouth (b) Moses was able to build his house according to the pattern Revealed unto him, by the Spirit of God 2. Just as Moses climbed the mountain in the wilderness to receive His PATTERN for Ministry a. We also must have our mountain top experience by responding to bidding of the Holt Spirit b. When The Lord is calling us to come up higher, to be with Him alone c. away from all the distractions & business of life and ministry d. so we may receive God s Divine Pattern for us to build our ministry by 6
F. Every HOUSE has to take on it s own characteristics that come About thru: 1. The WORD God puts in your mouth at your burning bush experience 2. and the VISION / PATTERN God personally reveals to you at yout mountain top experience a. Your House will have a Peculiar MISSION b. Your House will have a Peculiar SONG c. Your House will have a peculiar ANOINTING d. Your house will have a peculiar VISION / DREAM / PATTERN by which to build your ministry e. and it all comes to pass as you are faithful to preach the peculiar WORD God puts in your mouth (1) Don t be a copy (2) Be an original (a) Be faithful to build your HOUSE: life / church / ministry (b) By Preaching / proclaiming / heralding The Word of God That The Spirit of God has put in your mouth G. I teach each of our Pastors within our fellowship: 1. I have the extra local word / pattern for our fellowship a. which consists of Missions, leadership training 2. They have to personally get their word & pattern for their local church a. At their own Burning bush experience..get the word to preach b. At their own Mountain top experience.get the pattern to build by c. then come back and PREACH THE WORD that the Spirit of God has put in your mouth d. which will enable them to build your church / ministry according to the pattern God has given them (1) Then I do what I can in helping them fulfill their vision 7
H. People will always try to get you to: 1. Change the Word God has given you to preach a. and change the pattern by which God has given you to build by 2. You have to become faithful like Paul, and not give into the pressure or the criticism from others a. Acts 26:19 "Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, 3. Example of Preaching The Word & Building according to Pattern: a. Over Seas Ministry: (1) When God puts a nation on my heart I begin to pray fro two things: (a) an open door into the country (b) a connection with an individual with a Apostolic or Prophetic Calling upon their life (1) usually when I meet them this degree of their calling is not yet developed (2) then begin to build a relationship with that individual, and they become a spiritual son unto me & I a spiritual father unto them (3) We then begin to hold Leadership Conferences in that nation, working thru my spiritual son in that nation (4) Next step is I plant a bible school in that country, under the leadership of my spiritual son (5) With the bible school graduates, we plant new churches, who become a part of our network / fellowship: Abundant Ministries under the leadership of my spiritual son (a) I do not relate to the pastors of these new churches, I only relate to my spiritual son in that country (b) I turn the fellowship totally over to the oversight of my spiritual son, thus giving them a spiritual inheritance. As well as all of the pastors & churches In each country, being his spiritual sons.not my spiritual sons. 8
