A Gospel for the Weak By Mitchell Kuhn Luke 6:20 (NKJV) Then He lifted up His eyes toward His disciples, and said: "Blessed are you poor, For yours is the kingdom of God. Luke 5:30 (NKJV) And their scribes and the Pharisees complained against His disciples, saying, "Why do You eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?" Luke 5:31 (NKJV) Jesus answered and said to them, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. Luke 5:32 (NKJV) I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance." 2 Corinthians 12:5 (NKJV) Of such a one I will boast; yet of myself I will not boast, except in my infirmities. 2 Corinthians 12:6 (NKJV) For though I might desire to boast, I will not be a fool; for I will speak the truth. But I refrain, lest anyone should think of me above what he sees me to be or hears from me. 2 Corinthians 12:7 (NKJV) And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. 2 Corinthians 12:8 (NKJV) Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV) And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:10 (NKJV) Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 1 Corinthians 1:25 (ESV) For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 1 Corinthians 1:26 (ESV) For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth.
1 Corinthians 1:27 (ESV) But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 1 Corinthians 1:28 (ESV) God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, 1 Corinthians 1:29 (ESV) so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. 1 Corinthians 1:30 (ESV) And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, 1 Corinthians 1:31 (ESV) so that, as it is written, Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord. Proverbs 30:8 (NKJV) Remove falsehood and lies far from me; Give me neither poverty nor riches Feed me with the food allotted to me; Proverbs 30:9 (NKJV) Lest I be full and deny You, And say, "Who is the LORD?" Or lest I be poor and steal, And profane the name of my God. Christ speaking with authority Matthew 7:24 (NKJV) "Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: Matthew 7:25 (NKJV) and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. Matthew 7:26 (NKJV) "But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: Matthew 7:27 (NKJV) and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall." Matthew 7:28 (NKJV) And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, Matthew 7:29 (NKJV) for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. Titus 2:15 (NKJV) Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.
2 Corinthians 10:10 (NKJV) "For his letters," they say, "are weighty and powerful, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible." 2 Corinthians 10:11 (NKJV) Let such a person consider this, that what we are in word by letters when we are absent, such we will also be in deed when we are present. Gideon s Army Judges 7:2 (NKJV) And the LORD said to Gideon, "The people who are with you are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel claim glory for itself against Me, saying, 'My own hand has saved me.' Judges 7:3 (NKJV) Now therefore, proclaim in the hearing of the people, saying, 'Whoever is fearful and afraid (of our weakness), let him turn and depart at once from Mount Gilead.' " And twenty-two thousand of the people returned, and ten thousand remained. Judges 7:4 (NKJV) But the LORD said to Gideon, "The people are still too many; bring them down to the water, and I will test them for you there. Then it will be, that of whom I say to you, 'This one shall go with you,' the same shall go with you; and of whomever I say to you, 'This one shall not go with you,' the same shall not go." Moses being slow of tongue Exodus 4:10 (NKJV) Then Moses said to the LORD, "O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue." Exodus 4:11 (NKJV) So the LORD said to him, "Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the LORD? Exodus 4:12 (NKJV) Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say." Exodus 4:13 (NKJV) But he said, "O my Lord, please send by the hand of whomever else You may send." Exodus 4:14 (NKJV) So the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and He said: "Is not Aaron the Levite your brother? I know that he can
speak well. And look, he is also coming out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart. Exodus 4:15 (NKJV) Now you shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth. And I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and I will teach you what you shall do. Exodus 4:16 (NKJV) So he shall be your spokesman to the people. And he himself shall be as a mouth for you, and you shall be to him as God. John 1:46 (NKJV) And Nathanael said to him, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see." Matthew 26:73 (NKJV) And a little later those who stood by came up and said to Peter, "Surely you also are one of them, for your speech betrays you." 1 Samuel 22:2 (NKJV) And everyone who was in distress, everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered to him. So he became captain over them. And there were about four hundred men with him. Jonah 1:3 (NKJV) But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the LORD. Luke 22:42 (NKJV) saying, "Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done." Jeremiah 1:6 (NKJV) Then said I: "Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth." Jeremiah 1:7 (NKJV) But the LORD said to me: "Do not say, 'I am a youth,' For you shall go to all to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak. Matthew 13:53 (NKJV) Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these parables, that He departed from there.
Matthew 13:54 (NKJV) When He had come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, "Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works? Matthew 13:55 (NKJV) Is this not the carpenter's son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas? Matthew 13:56 (NKJV) And His sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this Man get all these things?" Matthew 13:57 (NKJV) So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house." Matthew 13:58 (NKJV) Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief. Proverbs 16:32 (NKJV) He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city. Peter- Deny Christ Protect him (sword) Withdraw from the Gentiles and rebuked by Paul Deuteronomy 28:13 (NKJV) And the LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them. Isaiah 40:29 (NKJV) He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Isaiah 40:30 (NKJV) Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV) But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
