November 28, Your elected Board would like to make it clear that this meeting has been called by a dissident group of residents. The elected Board did not call this meeting, we do not approve of it in anv way AND WE WILL NOT ATTEND. If you have given your proxy to this group, it will be used to further their agenda which has only the 3 items listed below. 1. Remove the current Board of Directors and the Comisario 2. Elect a New Board, Comisario and Alternate Comisario 3. Reinstate the 2007 Bylaws It is your decision to support or not support this group in their subversive attempt to take over the elected Board of Chula Vista. We want you to know that our lawyers are aware of the meeting and have advised us regarding actions that will be taken against this group. In the interim, the problems that could be created with water. garbage. electricity and salary payments for our workers as well as the every day running of this colonos could be severely damaged over the next 2 months if this group is even temporarily successful. The AGM in January is the time to vote out the people you do not want on the Board and vote in who you wish without disruption or further unnecessary expense to this Fraccionamiento. The group claims they have permission from a Jalisco Judge to hold this meeting. Our la\n)ers are looking into the terms under which this permission was granted. Their findings will likely affect the outcome of an? decisions made at the meeting. This dissident group also claim that Jalisco Law overrides the Bylaws of Chula Vista yet they have not e\.en followed Jalisco Law in calling this meeting. Two of the people hoping to be elected to a neb Board are suspended Board members, one other is not even an owner or resident and another is not a registered owner. The!. ha1.e broken many of the Chula Vista Bylaws and Rules and Regulations under which this Fraccionamiento has operated for many years. Their self professed leader has been a resident for much less than 2 years. She seems to think she can deceive the intelligent people in this community into believing that her dishonest uords and actions will bring her credibility in the minds of the people of Chula Vista. Is this really the person you \%ant leading this community? We also know after the information meeting yesterday, that calmer. rational people will prevail and see the leaders of this group for what they are. Don't be seduced by their quest for raw unbridled power. 2 Who is Janet Peace? (edited N ~V. 19/09) She is the self-designated leader of a small dissident group writing half truths and lies in an attempt to convince the Chula Vista community of dishonorable actions and intentions of the legally elected Board of Chula Vista. Ms. Peace published this "resume" on the Chula Vista Homeowners website. Now a full-time resident of Chula Vista, Janet has manv decades of Board ex~erience f aas a Board member she has served as Board Chairman, managed large-scale budgets and organized many volunteer committees. By profession, Janet is a corporate mediator and management consultant and has also owned and run several small manufacturing businesses. Janet is a firm believer that the strength and quality of a community depends on the degree to which community members are informed of, and involved in, the key decisions facing the community. She comes to Chula Vista as a full-time resident from Victoria, BC. where she was active in the administration of the Dean Park Homeowners Association, whose Bv-Laws and Reaulations were verv similar to those of Chula Vista. She is now retired and able to commit time and energy to serving the Chula Vista fraccionamento. As a newly-elected Association Board member she acted as Treasurer and Chair of the Building and Zoning Committee until her unlawful suspension in April Comments regarding the above: Note that the first paragraph of Ms. Peace's "resume" does not specifically name any Board she chaired or business she owned or ran in "many decades". Why not? The Dean Park Estates Homeowners, (their new name), is in North Saanich, part of Sidney B.C., north of Victoria, B.C. It has 370 homes and 12 members on the Board. Available records going back 4 years show that Janet Peace was a Dean Park homeowner in 2005 and (See other side for official info from Dean Park.) The membership chair of Dean Park Estates Homeowners, Ivy Anderson and the treasurer Joyce Nordlund have never heard of Janet Peace. Another Board member Richard Nordlund, with wife Joyce mentioned above have lived in the community since 1984 and have been consistently on and off the Board during that time. Richard has been on the Board consistentlv since He also has never heard of Ms. Peace but was able to look up records for this information. Records show Janet Peace did not Dav her vearlv dues, $25.00 a year, for 2005 and 2006, needed for the privilege to voteor be involved with the administration. Mr. Nordlund is quite confident that Ms. Peace was not "active in the administration of the Dean Park Homeowners Association..." or he would have known her. Records of non-payment of dues also confirm his belief. After seeina this evidence, Ms. Peace still says she worked with this administration. The Board of Dean Park wrote the attached letter at their Board meeting before sending it to us to be sure of the honesty of the letter. Please call them to confirm. What else has Ms. Peace exaggerated and lied about to this community? Answer: Most of what she has said and written about the elected Board. The BOD also questions Ms. Peace's honesty in her claim of "many decades of Board experience" and challenges her to prove &I statements of volunteer and work experience she published as her resume on Edited 11/19/09
