An important note for those already expecting visits in 2019

1 January 22, 2019 Dear Colleagues: On behalf of your devoted bishops, who take such pleasure in their visits with you and your congregations, greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! Attached please find the visitation schedule for the parishes and missions of the Diocese of Los Angeles. We are continuing the practice of providing visitation dates for two years at once so churches will have more flexibility in their planning. Please check the date of your visit immediately and put it in your calendar. If you need to change the date of your scheduled visit, we ask that you please do so by contacting another mission or parish being visited by the same bishop, make a trade, and report the change directly to me. An important note for those already expecting visits in 2019: Please check the revised 2019 calendar to make sure dates have not changed. With our new practice of publishing two years at once, further-out dates are bound to shift more often because of churches and bishops schedules. The pre-visit checklist is attached as well. As usual, it should be filled out and sent to me two weeks prior to the visit. A confirmation participation list is also provided for your convenience so that the Diocese may keep its records accurately. Please fill out this participation list after the bishop's visit and include all those who were confirmed in or received into this branch of Christ's Church and those who reaffirmed their baptismal vows and mail it to the Cathedral Center, marked to my attention. When planning your liturgies, please use the propers for the given Sunday rather than those for confirmation. In addition to the information on the previsit checklist, bishops will need the bulletin for the Sunday of the visit as well as the most recent issue of your newsletter. If you have any questions about the visitation schedule or these instructions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
