1 March 2019 Yes, God Is In Control!!! Acts 12:1-11 Now about that time Herod the king stretched out his hand to harass some from the church. Then he killed James the brother of John with the sword. And because he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to seize Peter also. Now it was during the Days of Unleavened Bread. So when he had arrested him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four squads of soldiers to keep him, intending to bring him before the people after Passover. Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church. And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, Arise quickly! And his chains fell off his hands. Then the angel said to him, Gird yourself and tie on your sandals ; and so he did. And he said to him, Put on your garment and follow me. So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. When they were past the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him. And when Peter had come to himself, he said, Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people. Fear-Fear-Fear- Satan and his workers stir up much fear in many different ways. The weather, tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes, lightning, ice on the roads, and the list goes on. Many things cause fear. Some have fear of the dark. Some have fear of the unknown. Many things cause fear, but especially the adversary, Satan. God does not want us to live in fear and we do not have to live in fear. Why? Because, we recognize that God is still in control. We Are Not Afraid Of Danger. Daniel in the lion den - Daniel 6:22 My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions mouths, that they have not hurt me: And also in chapter 3 of Daniel, the 3 Hebrew men (Shadrach, Meschach, and Abednego) God Is In Control! All these young men stood for God here on earth and He took care of their needs from heaven. Folks, we serve a mighty, mighty God. We Are Not Afraid To Suffer. Afflictions, Sickness, Emotional: Romans 8:28 Assures us God is going to make all things work together for good for those who love God. You have folks like David Ring, even though he is afflicted, he still stands up for the Lord. The results are, many are blessed, and many come to know Jesus as Savior. Even through sickness, we meet people we never would have otherwise. There are many people hurting. God puts us in their paths so we can maybe make this journey a little easier for them. Maybe, He puts us in their lives to pray for healing for them. After all, God is still in control. We Are Not Afraid To Trust God's Care. God knows everything Omniscient-God Sees Everything -God is Everywhere Omnipresent! Folks, we must put our faith in God and trust in Him, for His thoughts are mightier than our thoughts. His ways are greater than our ways. He knows what is going to happen tomorrow. Remember, He died on the cross for you and for me. He loves us so much, that He stretched out his arms on the cross for you and me. He knew the Father s plan all the way to the cross. We Are Not Afraid of Dying. 2 Corinthians 5:1-8 For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found

2 naked. For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. What a day that will be- Amen- Amen- Amen!!! 2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. Folks, the most important thing we can do is let God be in control.
