3 At the Annual Newton Stewart Homecoming on Sept 4, 1938, the Newton Stewl!-rt Homecoming Association was organized by the Executive Committee consisting of C H. Denbo, Chairman; 0. C. Osborn, Sec. and Treas., and B. T. McFarland, Sam Sillings and Homer Byers, Committeemen. CONSTITUTION AND MEMBERSHIP ROLL OF NEWTON STEW ART HOME COMING ASSOCIATION OF NEWTON STEWART, INDIANA Preamble of the Constitution: For as much as the people of Newton Stewart and vicinity have met in an annual meeting for a number of years to pay homage to the deceased, and greeting of friendship to the living, we the people, do establish and ordain this Constitution for the purpose of doing good, and maintaining a high standard of morality and good will toward our fellow men. Article 1. The name of this Association shall be THE NEWTON STEW ART HOMECOMING AS SOCIATION, Ai-ticle 2. Each Homecoming shall consist exclusively of a Reli15ious Program in the forenoon. The afternoon Progr~m may consist of good clean varied entertainment that should in no way do dishonor to the Sabbath. Article 3. Membershin in the said Association shall be acquired by the payment of an annual fee of 50 cents to the Association, The same to be used by the Committee to help defray the expenses of the Association. Article 4. The Officers of this Association shall consist of an executive Committee consisting of five members elected by the members of the Association, who shall serve for one year.

4 Article 5. The Annual Meeting shall be held on Sunday before Labor Day, the same being the first Monday in September of each year. Article 6. At the Annual Meeting, the members in good standing of the Association shall elect all members of the executive committee and transact any other lmsiness deemed for the good of the Association. To be a member of good standing he or she shall have paid all dues for, the previous year. Article 7. The Committee, when elected, shall meet within ten days, or as soon thereafter as convenient, and elect one of their members as Chairman and one for Secretary, and one for Treasurer; provided the same person may serve as both Secretary and Treasurer, if the Committee so elects. The Chairman shall preside at all Committee meetings and with the assistance of the Secretary, shall conduct the program of the annual meeting. Provided that the Chairman or Secretary may call such other meetings as they may deem for the good of the Association. This same executive committee so elected, shall have sole authority to arrange the Program and plan for the omecoming to be held the following year. Article 8. At no time shall any proceeds from the Association be used for the purchase of alcoholic beverages neither shall they be permitted on the Homecoming grounds. Article 9. No bills shall be incurred or allowed until first approved by the Committee. Article 10. At the Annual Meeting of the Association the Secretary shall make a full and complete report of all moneys collected and expended during the year. Article 11. This Constitution may be amended by the Committee, but such amendment or amendments must be approved by a majority of the members in good standing of the Association, at the next regular Homecoming of this Association before said amendment or amendments shall be effective and in full force or effect.
