2 It was a cold day in Maryland on December 6, 2009 when something happened that made the whole country realize that the New Orleans Saints were a team of DESTINY. The back and forth battle between the Saints and Redskins on that day eventually ended with a game-winning field goal in overtime on the leg of Garrett Southlake Hartley, but it was 3 rd and 25 pass-play that resulted in what I ve always called The Meachem Miracle and it has burned that one-and-only victory against Washington into the minds of Who-Dat Nation for all time. While Brees has not been putting up his yearly HOF passing stats, he hasn't needed to, as the Saints have won seven straight with the Aerial Assault now having the best ground-attack (since 2009) and a much improved defense that is holding opponents to an average of 18.3 points per game, and fewer than 15 points per game during the team's win streak. In that span, they ve looked like the most dominant team in the NFL, outscoring opponents and grabbing the attention of every NFL pundit in the process. "I don't plan on leaving New Orleans ever," Brees has said. "We just have a great understanding here. Listen, we're going to go through this season and we'll revisit it [the contract] in the offseason. Right now, I'm in the moment." And that s what I m getting at about bringing up The Meachem Miracle from Week 13 of the 2009 Season. Not because it has anything to do with what s happening now, but rather, to point out that if you look back at all of the great Saints teams of yesterday you ll see that they all had some of those GREAT moments, which defines a team of DESTINY.

3 Coach Payton refers to the hype around the 7-2 Saints as white noise. Great leaders will tell their men not to buy into the hype. Will they buy into the hype? Will they believe they're as good as people say they are and look ahead to bigger and grander things or stay focused and keep their eye on the prize? If we were talking about the Dallas Cowboys it would be quicker and easier to answer that question. And what is it that The Master-Playcaller has always said. The Darkside of Fandom is quicker, easier, more seductive. Consume you it will with its over-hyped media, elaborate facilities and locker-room drama. Master Playcaller This week, the team s leader and great American-hero spoke out; I don t think we ve played our best football. I know that the challenge is only becoming greater as we go along here (in this season). The ultimate goal of this season was not to be 7-2. The ultimate goal is to continue to put ourselves in position to win the division and go to the playoffs and see what happens. I like the track we are on. I think we re an ascending team. We re (getting) better every week. We ve found a bunch of different ways to win and have a lot of guys playing well and (guys) gaining a lot of confidence along the way. We want to keep that going. Personally I think we re only scratching the surface as far as how good we can be. The important thing and the emphasis is that we all have that mindset. We are trying to get better each and every week. We don t want to stay the same. There are still improvements and corrections to be made. Let s see how good this team can be, Brees explained. Spoken like a true Jedi.

4 The Saints pass defense has become a strength of the team, climbing to No. 7 in the NFL rankings. They have done it primarily with a very young but talented secondary, a solid defensive line, and an aggressive defensive coordinator. New Orleans has given up an average of less than 160 yards passing over the last seven games, and during that time has intercepted 10 passes and sacked the quarterback 22 times. Cornerbacks Marshon Lattimore, a strong rookie of the year candidate, and second year Ken Crawley have emerged into a pair of shutdown defenders, and have virtually taken opposing wide receivers out of relevance. Their coverage success has allowed Saints safeties and linebackers to play a variety of different coverage packages against the opposition's tight ends and running backs that have limited their effectiveness, as well as allowed coordinator Dennis Allen to employ different blitz and coverage packages. Ends Cam Jordan (7 sacks) and Alex Okafor (4.5 sacks) have each been effective rushers, but the Saints have gotten sacks from 12 different players. The Saints run defense is ranked 16 th, although, they ve been better than their record might indicate. They've given up less than 100 yards rushing in 4 of the last 6 games, and have held their opponents running attack in check since the streak began in Week 3. The concern for New Orleans is the tendency to give up 1 or 2 big rushes per game, but the above-average play [in the box] has opponents trying to pass and the secondary has been shutdown thanks to a much improved pass-rush from the front-line and superb game-play by the corners! A 23rd ranked Redskins rushing attack has been further weakened by injuries since the season started. Washington has averaged less than 97 yards rushing per game, and have rushed for less than 100 yards in each of their last five games. So if you re wondering if there s anything good at all about this year s Redskins team that we ll be facing tomorrow, I would point out, probably only this..

5 And that s about it. Anyway, so the Saints are 7-2 right now and that s awesome, I m as excited as most of you. But they don t give any NFC South Division crowns to 7-2 teams in the NFL. With a desperate Washington Redskins (4-5) team attacking The Dome this Sunday and a trip to the west-coast in two weeks to face the LA Rams, there can be no relaxing on Airline Drive for the Boyz N Black & Gold. The real test has begun. It s a 5-game stretch starting with a road team from up north (in the cold) with an undefeated home-record. One down, four to go. Next, is a team that s got a losing record, however, they re 4-1 against the Saints during the Payton/Brees Era and seem to always have their number, except in 09 as stated above. The Saints are running the ball efficiently, they re running more and passing less. Last Sunday in the cold and dreary winter weather in Buffalo, nothing could ve been more rewarding than to see Drew Brees attempt only five (5) passes in the second half. Only five! Dat s right, Breesy was lounging in the backfield, taking it Easy while the Grid-Iron Ground-Attack was rolling over the Bills like a scene out of a Kevin Costner movie! And that movie did win Best Picture and last Sunday, the Saints painted us all a beautiful picture.complete with playoff party-favors at the end of regulation! Can the Saints keep this pace and hold on to their NFC South lead? Only if they remain focused and bring it when we face the Carolina Panthers in 2 weeks, otherwise, Cam the Sham and the Kittens could pass us by the same way they did back in 2013 and steal the division from us. In our last meeting with the Redskins on November 15, 2015, Cousins threw for 324 yards and 4 TD s and no interceptions, while the Washington rushing-attack mowed-over the Saints defense for 209 yards. In fact, it was the very game that got DC, Rob Ryan (eventually) fired!

6 NFC SOUTH: Coming into Week 11; the Boyz N Black & Gold have won seven games in-a-row, despite the 0-2 start, which seemed to mark what the 2017 Season was going to look like for Who-Dat Nation. Now, they are still holding onto first place in the NFC South Division for the first time since the 5-0 start in 2013 propelled them into the Playoffs and are currently the No. 3 Seed in the current NFC standings (as indicated on the page below. So what happened in Week 10? The Bucs beat the NY Jets at Raymond James Stadium last Sunday, but I m not worried about Jughead and the Bucs doing anything to come back from 3-6 record. These guys are just horrible. The Dirty Birds were at their look-a-like dome taking on the Jerry s Kids which ended with a 27-7 win over America s Old Team. Meanwhile, the Karolina Kittens got to play a home game at the BOA Litter-Box against a dismal Miami Dolphins club that looks like it s ready to forfeit the rest of the 2017 Season, allowing them to stay on the heels of the Saints. In Week 11, NFC South action has the Saints taking on the Redskins at The Dome, the Bucs visiting the Dolphins in their makeup game, the Karolina Kittens are off for their BYE and the Dirty Birds are taking on the Sleazy Seabirds in Seattle on Monday Night Football, which I m calling The Battle of the Beaks.

Well, what kind of citizen was he He did not work and was unemployed for the last year and the only thing he did was sue the NFL. Perhaps they do or their just fools. AND IN OTHER NEWS: You know, Houston fan-favorite JJ Watt raised $37 million dollars for Hurricane Harvey victims. And did Kapersnack raise any money to donate anything to anybody oh wait, he did, I found out that he gave a donation of $25,000 to a group that celebrates copkillers! This is obviously a political stunt to help increase the readership of a failing magazine..but at what cost? Do these idiots in the media realize the ramifications of celebrating the antics of a former athlete turned activist that is pushing a Leftist-Communist ideology? I ve learned that the Patriots vs. Raiders game will not be played in Oakland this weekend. Instead, the fans of Raider-Nation will be forced to sacrifice one of their home games, while these two teams travel to Mexico City to play our sport. How nice of the Evil Commissioner and the League Office to care about Americans and the fans who have supported the NFL all these years.
