WELCOME THE 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS *CALL TO WORSHIP Wendy Reardon & Coco Fitzgibbons An Intergenerational Experience! Melina Louloudes Leader: People: Leader: People: All: It is a night of anticipation, a night of waiting. We wait, as Mary and Joseph waited for the birth of their son. We wait, surrounded by the darkness of night. We wait, anticipating the coming of the light. In a child, they would see the light of God. *PRAYER OF INVOCAITON We gather to worship here in the sight of God, to remember the birth of Jesus. In a tiny town of Bethlehem a worried father waited, a would-be mother labored. The world held its breath for a Savior. The baby arrived, and angels sang of goodwill to shepherds, lighting up the night sky. Centuries later, we celebrate this birth this advent of life and hope. May God this day lighten the darkness of our lives, so that we too can sing Gloria! Gloria! 1

4 TONIGHT S OFFERING All gifts will be donated to: Mission Trip 2020: Costa Rica 26 Youth Group members and adult mentors will be volunteering in Costa Rica on the Sea Turtle Conservation Project for 2 weeks in June We will be working alongside a local biologist to assist with sea turtle studies, focus on marine-conservation volunteer activities and support sustainable egg protection programs. There are four sea turtle species in Costa Rica -protecting these spectacular species will be at the heart of our volunteer work, as we give-back with other international volunteers from around the world. We will be working a variety of day and night shifts, which include beach patrols, building hatcheries to protect eggs from predators, beach cleaning, counting and tagging sea turtles, locating nesting females, collecting eggs and replanting mangroves. Friends of the Children Boston Generational poverty can be broken. They've been doing it for over 13 years. Children born into poverty are at risk for dropping out of school, substance abuse, incarceration and teen parenting. Friends of the Children provide a salaried, professional mentor, called a Friend, for their entire childhood, from kindergarten through graduation years. No matter what. Friends choose children facing the highest risks and help them to rewrite their story. Changing lives and communities right here in Massachusetts. We hope that you will give generously, as the gift of volunteering and serving others changes lives and communities in immeasurable ways!
