Should ethical, moral people ever confront those that are teaching, preaching or otherwise expressing something that is FALSE? Today more that ever in history we find a converging of error with truth. Most lies are shrouded in a skin of truth, thus making the LIE acceptable. We find partial truths,

When politicians lie, we seem to accept it as the norm, BUT, what about deceptions, lies, and false theology coming from our spiritual leaders? Should we be willing to confront these false teachers? Feel free to share this with interested friends and family. Matthew 7: Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. God's word is very clear that we have not only the responsibility BUT also the command to do so. In Ezekiel's day God directed him to confront the false prophets. In the context it was referring to those that were responsible for the spiritual safety of Israel, as well as those in political leadership positions. In Ezekiel 13:1-9 we find a very interesting text that should be applied today. MANY so called prophets are preaching-teaching half truths as well as complete fabrications. It is time every believer stands up and confronts these wolves in sheep clothing. 1. The CALL to CONFRONT Recorded: (v.1-3) "and the word of the LORD came unto me saying, son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel the prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their OWN HEARTS, Hear ye the word of the LORD;" NOTICE: (A) We are to Confront wrong; there is never a time when we should just sit idly by and allow a lie to go as truth. God calls on us to speak the truth in love. We are to LOVE, yet confront false teachings and false teachers. We are not to say well, maybe they just did not understand. We have multitudes via television today that will be responsible for sending millions to HELL because of their false teachings under the guise of preaching. (B) We are to Chronicle the WORD. "Hear ye the WORD of the LORD". It is not my opinion; it is not what I think or feel, BUT, it is the WORD of GOD. The Bible is the foremost in every discussion of truth. (C) We are to Caution of WOE. "Thus saith the LORD GOD woe unto the foolish prophets..." (v.3). God's word is very clear: these false prophets will face God's WOE.

3 Page 3 of 7 Jeremiah 14: Then the Lord said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart. Ezekiel 13: 1-9 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the LORD; 3 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! 4 O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts. 5 Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD. 6 They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word. What is Woe? What does it mean? Woe means calamity, catastrophe, or destruction. Those teaching false theology will face God's Judgment for the things they are preaching-teaching. The text tells us that these false teachers/ prophets will face calamity. We are not to be silent, but we are to speak out and confront false doctrine with the truth. This scripture furthermore says of the false prophets: (1) They're Foolish: "they follow their own spirit", They do not follow the Holy Spirit, they follow after and teach what they think, feel, or believe regardless of what the Scripture says. (2) They're Frauds: "and have seen nothing". Literally these false teachers/prophets teach and preach things that they have not seen in the Bible and/or those things that the LORD has not told them to say or preach. In modern terms we would have to say that they are preaching-teaching LIES, half truths and FALSE THEOLOGY. (V.4) goes on to tell us these false prophets "are like the foxes in the deserts" clearly God is saying that false prophets are very cunning, deceptive, dangerous and very deadly.
