We all know what a famine is and what it can do. When you find famine of water, people will thirst to death. Many countries are without proper drinking water supply. Many other countries experience famine of food products due to dry parched land and NO farming skills. Due to the lack of proper irrigation and/or water source, the crops will not produce enough grain to feed the people. As a result of this type of famine, multitudes will starve or thirst to death. When hearing of others dying due to famine, all Americans want to rise up and help in some way. Many will go to these foreign nations and provide actual intellectual, financial, or physical assistance to prevent the suffering of humanity. In America we are traditionally known as the land of plenty. We have historically been called the bread basket of the world, because of wonderful crop production and industry, trade, and manufacturing capabilities. God has wonderfully blessed America as no other nation on the globe. Today, even with the serious downturn in the economy, the loss of millions of jobs, and the multitude of Washington-Obama administration scandals, we are still the envy of other nations. Anyone who rejects this position needs only refer to the millions crossing the border or waiting in line for visas to enter America,"the land of the free and the home of the brave", as we like to call it. So, WHERE IS THE FAMINE IN AMERICA?? Today America has a FAMINE of the WORD of The Bible as never before. A recent survey conducted by the U.S. based Center for the Study of Global Christianity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, titled "Christianity in its Global Context, " gives staggering facts of the present and future condition in America relating to Christianity. The survey revealed a serious drop in Europe and America as related to Christianity. We only need to watch TV or listen to the daily news and KNOW that America is a post-christian nation. We no longer revere the BIBLE. The present administration is hostile toward the Bible and anyone who is Christian. Obama speaks disrespectfully of Christians, saying that they "cling to guns or religion". He

Obama says the national motto is "E Pluribus Unum" (out of many- one) rather then "In God we trust". Through the military, he has required all Christian crosses to be removed from military chapels, so as not to offend anyone. He has praised Islam and condemned Christianity. In January 2012, it was argued in the Supreme Court, that the first amendment provides NO protection for churches and synagogues in the employment of their pastors and rabbis. We could go on and on, HOWEVER the FAMINE of the WORD in America is fundamentally NOT the fault of OBAMA, but can be traced directly to the pulpits in our great nation. Why do I say this and what is the evidence that this is the source of the FAMINE? Amos 8:11-12 says, 11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: 12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it. For over 50 years we have seen the increasing trends as the following will indicate: 1. Spineless preachers fearful of their JOBS who refuse to "PREACH THE WORD", because "someone may get their feelings hurt". 2. A willingness to appease the crowds with funny stories, rather than preach verse by verse "THUS SAITH THE LORD". 3. Churches with minutes of rock-n-roll music and 15 minute sermonette for Christianettes. 4. Preachers preaching "COTTON CANDY THEOLOGY" that tastes good but is NOT FILLING. 5. Preachers preaching "GOOSE BUMP THEOLOGY". It makes you feel good but is not lasting. 6. Preachers afraid of losing the government's 501-c-3 designation rather than being FEARFUL of GOD. 7. So-called believers who will heap to themselves teachers because of their "itching ears" (2 Tim 4:1-4). 8. Pastors unwilling to call sin, SIN, which includes preaching against abortion, Sodomite marriages, the corruption in Washington, and many other social issues that REALLY are Biblical issues, rather than political issues. May God intervene and turn America BACK to The WORD while we still have Constitutional freedoms in our

3 Page 3 of 8 come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: 12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it. 2 Timothy 4:1-4 4 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. Romans 8: Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate great nation. Pray that God will intervene in the upcoming 2014 mid-term elections and give us MEN and WOMEN of GOD who will open the doors for God to, once again, Bless America. Dr. Gene A.
