What is the Lunar Sabbath Teaching?

The "About Us" page reveals nothing of particular interest about the author other than that their belief system aligns with the early Adventist church. I speak fluent Adventist, so my rebuttal will be a clear and utter dismantling of End Times-Bible Prophecy's (ET-BP from here on) position on the Lunar Sabbath using language that they will completely understand. I hope you recognize that I am not aiming at ET-BP, my target is their false doctrine. Any shrapnel wounds they receive will be due to their close proximity to my target (their false doctrine) and will have to heal naturally. To avoid further injury, I recommend that they put some distance between themselves and my intended target. When you are done examining this rebuttal, if you feel that I have adequately made my case against their anti-lunar Sabbath position, let them know what you think at: mail@endtimesbibleprophecy.com. The modern SDA church does not have an answer for the Lunar Sabbath, and the early SDA church encountered it twice (examining the evidence) without ever addressing it publicly. So before I even begin, I already know what ET-BP will bring to the table against the Lunar Sabbath: Nothing but their tradition. At a little over 3.5 pages, ET-BP must not consider the Lunar Sabbath much of a threat or they would have made a little more effort here. This independent SDA ministry has put no more effort into the examination of the evidence than the modern SDA church. This distinct LACK of effort is more an attempt to sweep it under the rug than to actually examine the evidence. The apple never falls far from the tree. End Times-Bible Prophecy writes exclusively in black, I will respond in blue [bracketed in blue] in mid paragraph, with a little red, green and purple. Dated The Lunar Sabbath Teaching Exposed - End Times Prophecy. What is the Lunar Sabbath Teaching? The lunar sabbath is a fairly recent teaching [been around since creation] that is spreading throughout the seventh day sabbath keeping churches. And although there are slight differences in the teachings out there concerning the lunar sabbath, the core of the teaching seems to be constant. And that is the weekly sabbath is determined by the moon and occurs on the same DATES every month. These dates being the 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th. So this means the sabbath for those who abide by this teaching falls on different days each week.

2 The Sabbaths do not fall on different days each week, they are determined by New Moon which is a monthly event. The weekly Sabbaths always fall on the seventh day of the week, but that is the week/month established at Creation, not the pagan/papal Gregorian calendar week. When considering the Lunar Sabbath while LOOKING at the Gregorian calendar, it appears as if the weekly Sabbaths fall on a different day of the week each month. What the author of ET-BP is complaining about is that if the New Moon announces the beginning of the new month on a w- day, the next 4 w-days will be announced as the weekly Sabbaths by the quarter phases of the moon. The following month, New Moon may be on a th-day, and the subsequent 4 th-days would be announced as the weekly Sabbaths by the quarter phases of the moon. The pagan/papal months do not line up with Israel's lunar months. This is one of the greatest causes of confusion when considering this issue. When Lunar Sabbath keepers say week and month, they are referring to the Scriptural week and lunar month. Satyrday Sabbatarians ASSUME we are referring to the pagan/papal week and month that they observe; we are not. Not only that, as you can see, the number of days between the 'sabbath' on the 29th day and the 8th day is NOT seven days, but either 8 days or 9 days for the majority of months. And this is the first huge issue that satyrday Sabbatarians do not understand or even attempt to understand. This is assumed by ET-BP because they are NOT looking at time as presented in Scripture, they are comparing what Lunar Sabbatarians believe by looking at the pagan/papal calendar. New Moon days are the 8th and/or 9th days spoken of above. According to Scripture, New Moon days are NEVER included in the work week. Genesis 1:1-2 and Ezekiel 46:1 prove that new moon day is a third category of day, not counted as a week day. The second month of earth's history began with a New Moon, last month began with a New Moon, so what do you suppose the FIRST month of earth's history began with? New Moon. Looks like this. New Moon (Genesis 1:1-2) Day 1 of week (Genesis 1:3-5) Day 2 of week (Genesis 1:6-8) Day 3 of week (Genesis 1:9-13) Day 4 of week (Genesis 1:14-19) Day 5 of week (Genesis 1:20-23) Day 6 of week (Genesis 1:24-31) 7 th day Sabbath (Genesis 2:1-3) Ezekiel 46:1 says that the gate to the temple is shut on all SIX working days, but open on the Sabbath and new moon. The 4th day of the week is a work day, right? Let's say for a moment that New Moon fell on the 4th day of the week (on a w-day). If the tabernacle were still here and I asked you, Would the gate have been open or shut?, how would you answer? If you say open because it is New Moon, I would respond that it is a work day, it must be shut. If you agreed, Of course wednesday is a work day, it must be shut. I d reply, But friend, it is New Moon, it must be open. 2

3 ET-BP has no correct answer because they are applying this Scriptural calendar event to a pagan/papal/roman/solar-only/man-made calendar. Amos 8:5, Isaiah 66:23 and II Kings 4:23 also prove that the days of set-apart convocation (Sabbaths and New Moon days) belong in a separate category, apart from the six common work days. Amos: The unscrupulous venders are seeking to cheat the Israelites, but it is Sabbath and New Moon. Israel won't come out to buy their wares until it's a work day. Isaiah: We will worship YHWH on the Sabbaths and New Moon days, not on work days. II Kings: The boy collapses in the field, his mother races out, scoops him up and runs inside. There the boy dies in her lap. So she runs upstairs, places the boy on Elisha's bed, then runs to her husband asking permission to take a donkey and a servant with her to go see the prophet. To which he inquires, It is neither New Moon, nor Sabbath, why do you want to go see him today? Where was the man? In his field. What was he doing? Working. The gates were closed the SIX work day, open on New Moon and Sabbaths. When you configure a calendar model that accommodates for this Scriptural FACT, New Moon interrupts the week, which destroys any notion that satyrday is the weekly Sabbath. Put the New Moon day back in its rightful place in the calendar and it is a third category of day, never falling on a work day, nor a weekly Sabbath. There is simply NO evidence in Scripture that the Sabbath is EVERY 7th day in succession. There is simply NO evidence in Scripture that satyrday is the Sabbath. Scripture says that the Sabbath is the seventh day of the week. Period. But whose week? Yah s week or the pagan planetary week? ET-BP wants you to believe it is the latter. So to one standing outside of the true calendar of Scripture, the last week of the lunar month may seem to be 8-9 days long, but it is not. All Scriptural weeks are 7 days long. Lunar Sabbath Exposed I always have to smile with I read a headline like this. Nearly every anti-lunar Sabbath article I come across uses a line like this, and not a one of them have ever "exposed" anything but the fact that satyrday is not the Sabbath. Watch, and I will show you what I mean... All throughout scripture the sabbath of the Lord is confirmed as being on the SEVENTH DAY. 'Six days shalt thou labour, but the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord. In it you shall do no work.' [And in EVERY instance in Scripture, only a ONE week sample size is given. Satyrday Sabbatarians ASSUME that this means that the seven day weeks run in an unbroken cycle because they are L@@KING at the pagan/papal Gregorian calendar at the expense of the other time segments given in Scripture. They ignore New Moon and it's place in YHWH's calendar in order to embrace their false calendar, false Sabbath and false doctrine.] This is repeated time and time again all throughout the Old Testament, and yet those who hold to the lunar theory DO NOT keep the sabbath day every seven days. [True, but we observe the Sabbath on the seventh day of every week.] Every month one of their 'sabbaths' occurs on the 8th or 9th day! This alone shows it to be a false teaching. Oh wow. ET-BP did not pay the slightest bit of attention to the Lunar Sabbath doctrine or the evidence before them. Only the last Sabbath of the month SEEMS like there are 8-9 days in it (because ET-BP does not understand New Moon's place in the Scriptural calendar). Please look at the following calendar model so you can understand ET-BP's ignorance here... 3

In this instance, to the uneducated, it seems as if there are 9 days in this week before you get to the first day of the following week. When there is a 29 day month (meaning no day 30), then there is only ONE New Moon day and it seems to those ignorant of the Scriptural calendar as if there are 8 days in the last week of the month. You can't fix stupid, but ignorance is easily replaced by knowledge. Remaining in ignorance in light of the truth is called willful ignorance and THAT is indeed a problem. So, tet me lay the foundation for how Scripture describes that the weekly Sabbath is regulated by the moon... Creation Calendar Class 101. Genesis 1:14 says that the two great lights would be for signs, seasons, days and years. Thus the calendar of Yah is in the heavens. Exodus 31:13, Ezekiel 20:12, and 20:20 all say that the Sabbath is a sign, using the SAME Hebrew word found in Genesis 1:14 (owth), meaning signal or beacon. Can you go out side and look at the sun and tell whether it is satyrday or the Sabbath? No of course not. The sun looks the same every day. So try the other luminary in the heaven. This ain't rocket science. Psalm 104:19 says that the moon will regulate the seasons (mo edim--appointed times, set feasts). Leviticus 23:1-3 shows the weekly Sabbath to be the first feast (mo edim--appointed times, set feasts). This alone is enough to prove that the Sabbath is by the moon, but it does not answer every possible question as to HOW or WHY that might take place. Yours is not to ask WHY. Either do (obey) or do not. Let us look at the creation account and see when the moon and the weekly sabbath day was created. Genesis 1: 'And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.' 4

5 Genesis 2:2-3...'And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.' So when did God make the moon? He made it on the FOURTH DAY of creation. [So childish. It appears that ET-BP believes that the Scriptures were inspired in English. Friend, the KJV English is a translation. Have you ever considered what the underlying Hebrew says? Of course not. That would actually be examining the evidence and way too much work.] And what about the sabbath day? He instituted it on the SEVENTH DAY of creation. Now we know that Adam and Eve were created on the sixth day. So what was the first full day that Adam and Eve spent together? It was the seventh day sabbath. [Indeed, and the 8th day of the month.] And was this sabbath day that Adam and Eve spent together determined by the moon? No, because the moon was only created 3 days prior. [Matthew 22:29] Ok, so what about the NEXT sabbath day that Adam and Eve observed? That was SEVEN DAYS later right? Was that one determined by the moon? Clearly not. What about the NEXT sabbath day? Determined by the moon? No! Yes! The sun, moon and stars (says heaven AND earth) were created in Genesis 1:1-2. See calendar model at the bottom of page 2 above. Everything you can see from earth was created in Genesis 1:1-2. Watch and you will come to understand just what this means. The word for create meaning created from nothing (Hebrew words, bara--as used in Genesis 1:1 and 1:27, et al) is not found in Genesis 1: The action word used there is made, "And Elohim made two great lights..." This word made (Strong s H# 6213) is used several times during the creation week and does NOT mean created from nothing. It comes from the Hebrew word asah, (ah-saw). The Hebrew word asah means advanced upon or appointed, made, like making a bed in the morning. For example: He appointed (asah) the moon for seasons Psalm 104:19. Here David very nearly quotes Genesis 1:14, only he s very specific about the role of the moon. Seasons here in Psalm 104:19 is the same Hebrew word found in Genesis 1:14; mo edim, appointed times or set feasts. If I made you a general in my army, does that mean you did not exist until I pinned the stars on your lapel? No, it means I advanced upon or appointed you as a general in my army. You existed prior to your appointment. Here s the scenario: YHWH created heaven and earth at a certain point in time (in Genesis 1:1-2). He doesn t call it a day (yom) because the time piece that regulates the day was not yet ordained as such, and the sun (which regulates the day) had not been lit. Then on the first day of the week, YHWH lights the sun creating light and, of course, day and night as a result. I'm sorry ET-BP, but if you read Genesis 1:3-5, the only light source that can possibly divide day from night is the sun. The Hebrew word for day (yom) literally means heat (as in from the sun). So the sun regulates the day (and of course the night by default). And since the sun was lit on the first day of Creation week, there are actually three "days" (yom) listed BEFORE the 4th day of Creation. Lunar Sabbath keepers are not stuck on the 4th day of creation. We studied the underlying Hebrew and discovered that the churches lied to us. The sun, moon and stars could not have been created on the 4th day since the sun was lit on the first day of creation week. On day four, YHWH made (meaning advanced upon, not created from scratch) the luminaries that He had created earlier [when He created the heavens and the earth and then illuminated on day one], and ordained them, appointed them as time keepers. ET-BP ignores the difference between the Hebrew words bara and asah yet feels qualified to judge the Lunar Sabbath. 5

6 It is the movement of the sun, moon and stars that define time on earth. The simple fact is that time on earth began in Genesis 1:1-2, not Genesis 1:3-5. Also, it is a universal truism that without motion there can be no time. And the inverse is also true, without time there can be no motion. So, since time began on earth at the moment the Creator spoke heaven and earth into existence (Genesis 1:1-2 reveals movement--something appeared out of nothing), what all did He create and set into motion at that time? Do you deny the absolute laws of the universe? You must deny them if you insist that the sun and moon did not exist until the 4 th day of Creation. Lunar Sabbatarians do not deny the universal Codified Law, we embrace it. Do you see the clear Biblical truth here friends? [The truth was presented and is rather clear in the blue font above. Not much by way of truth in the black font yet.] The institution of the weekly sabbath had no bearing on the moon and the moon had no bearing on the weekly sabbath. The moon was created on day four and there is no mention whatsoever that it would have any bearing on when the sabbath day would be. Instead, God simply setup a weekly seven day cycle from creation that continued. And it is this that determined the seventh day sabbath, not the cycle of the moon. Indeed, ET-BP, and YHWH also set up New Moon. YOU can ignore New Moon if you wish, truth-seekers cannot and will not ignore it. Put the New Moon back where it belongs, and there are no repeating seven day weeks. A repeating 7 day week is of pagan origin. I have already revealed the foundation for the New Moon and Lunar Sabbath from Scripture. These people understood this concept... The New Moon is still, and the Sabbath originally was, dependent upon the lunar cycle. Universal Jewish Encyclopedia, p No quote can be clearer than this. Please note the source. the Hebrew Sabbathon was celebrated at intervals of seven days, corresponding with changes in the moon s phases... Encyclopedia Biblica, p In the time of the earliest prophets, the New Moon stood in the same line with another lunar observance, the Sabbath. Ezekiel, who curiously enough frequently dates his prophecies on the New Moon describes the gate of the inner court of the (new) temple looking eastward as kept shut for the six working days, but opened on the Sabbath and the New Moon. Scribner's Dictionary of the Bible (1898 edit.), p. 521 The Hebrew month is a lunar month and the quarter of this period one phase of the moon appears to have determined the week of seven days. Encyclopedia Biblica, p And why have we never been taught any of this??? The [early] Hebrews employed lunar seven-day weeks which ended with special observances on the seventh day but none the less were tied to the moon s course. Hutton Webster, in his book, Rest Days, page 254. In the article Shawui Calendar: Ancient Shawui Observance, we find confirmation of a radical change in YHWH s calendar. The [lunar]...calendar was used by all the original disciples of Yeshua... This original Nazarene lunar-solar calendar was supplanted by a Roman planetary week and calendar in 135 C.E. -- when the Bishops of the Circumcision (i.e. legitimate Nazarene successors to Yeshua) were displaced from Jerusalem. This began a three hundred year controversy concerning the true calendar and correct Sabbath. 6

7 This intimate connection between the week and the month was soon dissolved. It is certain that the week soon followed a development of its own, and it became the custom -- without paying any regard to the days of the month (i.e. the lunar month) --...so that the New Moon no longer coincided with the first day [of the month ]. Encyclopedia Biblica, (1899 edit.), p the custom of celebrating the Sabbath every 7th day, irrespective of the relationship of the day to the moon s phases, led to a complete separation from the ancient view of the Sabbath... Encyclopedia Biblica, (1899 edit.), p The calendar was originally fixed by observation, and ultimately by calculation. Up to the fall of the Temple (A.D. 70), witnesses who saw the new moon came forward and were strictly examined and if their evidence was accepted the month was fixed by the priests. Eventually the authority passed to the Sanhedrin and ultimately to the Patriarchate. Gradually observation gave place to calculation. The right to determine the calendar was reserved to the Patriarchate; the Jews of Mesopotamia [Babylonian Jews] tried in vain to establish their own calendar but the prerogative of Palestine was zealously defended. So long as Palestine remained a religious centre, it was naturally to the homeland that the Diaspora looked for its calendar. Uniformity was essential, for if different parts had celebrated feasts on different days confusion would have ensued. It was not until the 4 th century A.D. that Babylon fixed the calendar Encyclopedia Britannica: Vol. 4, article Calendar. These imported [from Babylon] superstitions eventually led Jewish rabbis to call Saturn Shabbti, the star of the Sabbath, [and]...it was not until the first century of our era, when the planetary week had become an established institution, that the Jewish Sabbath seems always to have corresponded to Saturn s Day [Satyrday]. Hutton Webster in his book, Rest Days, p Thus the condemnation in Amos 5:26 was set in stone. In Amos 5:26, the prophet is recorded as reminding Israel of their apostasy. Israel started worshipping Chiun, a star-god of their own making. In Acts 7:43, Stephen quotes Amos and is translated into Greek as saying Remphan, the star-god Chiun and Remphan are the respective Hebrew and Greek words for Saturn. The Sabbath of Scripture is based upon the lunar cycle. So Israel did indeed come to worship Saturn on his day, but at a much later date and not by Divine command. The four quarters of the moon supply an obvious division of the month...it is most significant that in the older parts of the Hebrew scriptures the new moon and the Sabbath are almost invariably mentioned together. The [lunar] month is beyond question an old sacred division of time common to all the semites; even the Arabs, who received the week at quite a late period from the Syrians, greeted the New Moon with religious acclamations. We cannot tell [exactly] when the Sabbath became disassociated from the month. Encyclopedia Biblica, 1899 edit., pp How is it that Scholars cannot tell when the Sabbath was disassociated from the lunar cycle while modern Satyrday sabbath keepers in general deny that the Sabbath was ever connected with the moon in the first place? This is not uncommon knowledge, it is just commonly ignored (or denied) by satyrday Sabbatarians. With the development of the importance of the Sabbath as a day of consecration and the emphasis laid upon the significant number seven, the week became more and more divorced from its lunar connection... 8 If there is any possible remaining doubt that Israel observed a lunar Sabbath in Scripture, let this quote settle your conscience: Luni-solar calendar foundations of the Jewish calendar extend from the earliest verses of scripture. Natural, uniform motions of the heavenly spheres are the pivotal markers of time reckoning. The list of ancient characters mentioned in the Old Testament used this lunar-solar calendar system of time recording. Observation of lunar phases coupled with solar positioning graduated the lifetime ages of Adam and his descendants.... Changes in the appearance of the moon provided the seven-day week. Originating with ancient interpretations of lunar time, divisions of seven days separate the four basic lunar phases... Starting with a dark new moon, the moon gradually comes into view on following nights. In about seven days the first half of the moon is visible. The second half waxes until full moon at the end of two weeks. Lunar light reverses progression in the third week, waning to half visibility again. A fourth week completes the month, and visibility again diminishes toward a new moon. Completion of four lunar phases comprises the month. Ages of Adam, published in 1995, by Clark K. Nelson. Now take a look at the following important truth concerning the sabbath day contained in the 4th commandment. Exodus 20: 'Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.' I was hoping for this opportunity. Satyrday Sabbatarians always bait a trap then step in it themselves, so I'm not surprised for this opportunity at all... Do you see what event God is pointing to in His 4th commandment? He is pointing to creation week. [Yes, He does. Do you want to know what ELSE YHWH attaches the weekly Sabbath as well?] And He is confirming that it is this creation event from where we get the seventh day sabbath, as the weekly sabbath is a memorial of God's creation and a day that shows our allegiance to our Creator God, the one true God. And as we have already shown above, the seventh day sabbath of creation was NOT determined by the moon. [Says the uneducated. 8

9 Honestly, ET-BP has shown nothing above. No evidence that satyrday is the Sabbath. No evidence disproving the Lunar Sabbath, yet they are already trumpeting victory. Not so fast my friend.] Sure, Exodus 20:8-11 links the Sabbath to the seventh day of the week. But the Sabbath command in Deuteronomy 5:12-15 links the weekly Sabbath to the exodus. Israel was delivered from bondage in Egypt on Abib 15. Using the pagan/papal Gregorian calendar, Abib 15 rarely falls on satyrday. With the Lunar Sabbath, Abib 15 falls on the weekly Sabbath every year. Looks like this: New Moon Day First Week Day Second Week Day Third Week Day Fourth Week Day Fifth Week Day Sixth Week Day Seventh Week Day (30) Did you know that EVERY weekly Sabbath that can be date identified every in Scripture falls on either the 8th, 15th, 2nd or 29th day of the month. If you disbelieve, the evidence can be examined here: It is not my fault that ET-BP spoke before they did any research, that he/she assumes his/her tradition is on par with Scripture, or that he presumes his/her ignorance is counted as wisdom. Do a search of Genesis and Exodus and you will only find one mention of the moon, and that was concerning Joseph's dream of the sun, moon and stars bowing down to him. [Why do you limit your search to Genesis and Exodus? Is the rest of Scripture not inspired enough for you?] Nothing to do with the sabbath day. You do err, not knowing the Scriptures. Genesis 1:14 speaks of TWO great lights. One would rule the day and night as established in Genesis 1:3-5. What is the other great light, ET-BP? The moon. These two lights are to regulate signs, seasons (Hebrew mo'edim), days and years. Leviticus 23:1-3 TWICE names the weekly Sabbath a feast (Hebrew mo'edim). Can you go outside and LOOK at the sun and tell whether it is satyrday or the Sabbath? No. Then try the other light, the moon. According to Genesis 1:14, it will be one or the other. Psalm 104:19 flat out says that the moon will regulate the seasons (Hebrew mo'edim). Mo'edim means set feasts or times appointed. The fact that Leviticus 23:1-3 TWICE names the weekly Sabbath a mo'edim completely eliminates any and every argument that ministries like ET-BP can bring against the Lunar Sabbath. They do err, not knowing the Scriptures. They are very well versed in the pagan/papal calendar, however. How that qualifies them to judge other's Scriptural calendar observance is a question that thus far remains unanswered. 9

10 What about the account of the Israelites in the wilderness after leaving Egypt? Didn't God tell them to collect the manna for six days and then rest on the seventh day? [Again, a ONE week sample size is extrapolated out to infinity without examination of the evidence.] Was there any mention of the moon? No, the moon isn't mentioned AT ALL in the book of Exodus. So what sabbath day would God be telling them to observe? The weekly sabbath that He instituted during creation week of course, which had nothing to do with the moon. I will let the ignorance of that last statement go without comment. The evidence that ET-BP chooses to ignore is on them. I will, however, present the evidence regarding the manna that proves the Lunar Sabbath. No mention of the moon does not remove it from the equation since the moon was named as a time keeper at Creation. It is an observable fact for a modern truth seeker and it was simply an underlying fact of life to the ancient Israelite. Exodus 16 is the first place where the word Sabbath is used in Scripture. In the first verse, YHWH is speaking to Moses and Aaron on the 15th day of the 2nd month and gives them what turns out to be a simple math equation. From day 15 add 6 days of manna = 21. Next day (22nd) is the Sabbath. Israel was to collect one portion of manna from the 16th to the 20th and a double portion on the 21st because the morrow was the Sabbath. ET-BP, please look at the last column below. New x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x2 Sabbath Moon (30) So, the evidence in this passage PROVES that the 22nd WAS a weekly Sabbath, which proves the nature of the 8th, 15th and 29th days of the second month as well. And which days do Lunar Sabbatarians observe as the weekly Sabbaths? ET-BP made not the slightest effort to do the simple math problem I just did, one that any 4 grader could have done. So, did ET-BP expose anything false about the Lunar Sabbath? Nay, all the evidence points to their fraudulent use of the pagan/papal calendar in lieu of the calendar of Scripture. The only thing ET-BP has exposed is their ignorance of the Scriptures, which is in full display. Ceremonial Sabbaths The main confusion with this lunar teaching is with regards to their understanding of Leviticus 23. They see that the "holy days" and "sabbath days" are to be kept at certain times of the month and attribute this also to the weekly sabbath day of the Lord. The problem with this is that God distinguishes these ceremonial sabbaths from the weekly 'sabbath of the Lord' in verse 38: Leviticus 23: 'These are the feasts of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day: Beside the sabbaths of the Lord, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto the Lord.' 10

11 So God is clearly telling His people that these feasts and holy days and monthly/yearly sabbaths are BESIDES (In addition to) the weekly sabbath of the Lord. Which is why in verse 3 of Leviticus 23 God confirms the weekly sabbath day, to make sure His people do not confuse the different "ceremonial sabbaths" with the main weekly sabbath of the 4th commandment. Cherry picking what you believe is truth again, I see. Truth seekers do not cherry pick. If it is true, we accept it and disregard whatever tradition that gets trampled in the process. I agree with ET-BP, the weekly Sabbath and annual Sabbaths ARE distinct. Weekly Sabbaths happen frequently, annual Sabbaths do not. And while Lunar Sabbath keepers read Leviticus 23:37-38 and recognize that YHWH commanded different offerings for the weekly and annual feasts, ET-BP and other satyrday Sabbatarians look at Leviticus 23:1-4 and IGNORE the comparison that YHWH makes between the weekly Sabbaths and the annual Sabbaths. The weekly (Leviticus 23:1-3) and annual Sabbaths (Leviticus 23:4) are both identified as feasts (mo'edim) of YHWH. In Genesis 1:14, we were told that either the sun or moon, one of the two great lights in the heavens, would regulate the mo'edim. It is not my fault that ET-BP has not or does not know how to examine the underlying Hebrew. It is not my fault that ET-BP seems only to know how to read the English translation. Therefore it is not my fault that ET-Bp does err, not knowing the Scriptures. The weekly and annual festivals (Sabbaths) are distinct because different offerings are required for each, but BOTH are regulated by the same light in the heavens. And this is a fact that ET- BP conveniently ignores, which eliminates any credibility this ministry has in their effort to refute the Lunar Sabbath. Sabbaths of Leviticus 23: 'A Sabbath' = 'SHABBATHOWN' (Ceremonial Sabbath) 'The Sabbath of the LORD' = 'SHABBATH' (Weekly Sabbath) Sabbath of the 4th Commandment: 'The Sabbath of the LORD' = 'SHABBATH' (Weekly Sabbath) This is an example of a very uneducated bit of circular reasoning or a not very clever deception. The Strong's Concordance Hebrew number for "Shabbathown" is H7677, the Hebrew number for "Shabbath" is H7676. Here are the Strong's definitions... H7677, ש ב תוֹן, shabbâthôn, shab-baw-thone' From H7676; a sabbatism or special holiday: - rest, sabbath. H7676, ש ב ת, shabbâth, shab-bawth' Intensive from H7673; intermission, that is, (specifically) the Sabbath: - (+ every) sabbath. Does not "every Sabbath" include the land Sabbaths and the annual Sabbaths as well? Are not the annual feasts and the land Sabbath considered "intermissions" also? Let us see what the evidence says... 11

12 Please note that there is nothing by definition that links H7676 specifically to the weekly Sabbath or H7677 to the annual feasts, and also please note the following examples where H7677 (the "sabbath" ET-BP calls a ceremonial Sabbath or annual Sabbath) is used in conjunction with the weekly Sabbath, H7676: And he said unto them, This is that which YHWH hath said, To morrow is the rest H7677 of the holy Sabbath H7676 unto YHWH: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning. Exodus 16:23 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the Sabbath H7676 of rest, H7677 holy to YHWH: whosoever doeth any work in the Sabbath H7676 day, he shall surely be put to death. Exodus 31:15 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a Sabbath H7676 of rest H7677 to YHWH: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death. Exodus 35:2 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Sabbath H7676 of rest, H7676 an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the Sabbath H7676 of YHWH in all your dwellings. Leviticus 23:3 The texts above contradict ET-BP's statement above. Here now are places where H7676 (the Hebrew word ET-BP says defines the weekly Sabbath) is linked to the annual Sabbaths, H7677. Day of Atonement: It shall be a Sabbath H7676 of rest H7677 unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever. Leviticus 16:31 Unleavened Bread: And he shall wave the sheaf before YHWH, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the Sabbath H7676 the priest shall wave it. Leviticus 23:11 Pentecost (referring to Unleavened Bread): And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the Sabbath, H7676 from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Sabbaths H7676 shall be complete: Leviticus 23:15 Day of Atonement: It shall be unto you a Sabbath H7676 of rest, H7677 and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your Sabbath. H7676 Leviticus 23:32 The texts above again contradict ET-BP's statement above. Here is a text that uses the Hebrew word H7676 (the word ET-BP says specifically defines the weekly Sabbath) in context with the land Sabbath. But in the seventh year shall be a Sabbath H7676 of rest unto the land, a Sabbath H7676 for YHWH: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard. Leviticus 25:4 Yet another contradiction to ET-BP's statement above. So ET-BP is making hard and fast statements of fact that are, in.fact, false. Is anyone out there other than me NOT surprised by this? It is as if ET-BP simply opens their mouth and started spouting the first thing that came to mind, without verifying anything they said before publication as if no one would ever check their work. Perhaps the lemmings among their readership would not seek verification. I am neither an ET-BP reader, nor a lemming. 12

13 So as we can see from the above there were different sabbaths, with the 'sabbath of the Lord' being the same as the 4th commandment and 'a sabbath' being the ceremonial yearly sabbaths that were part of the feast days, which were observed at SPECIFIC DAYS OF THE MONTH. And here lies the confusion! The sabbath days which were to be observed on specific days of the month each year were ceremonial sabbaths [There is no such thing as a "ceremonial Sabbath" in Torah. This term is not used anywhere in either the OT or NT as it is the invention of the 13 th century Catholic lawyer and theologian, Thomas Aquinas.] which the New Testament confirms have been abolished by Christ Jesus: Oh wow. I did not expect to find THIS statement here. This is the most "ignorant" statement ET-BP has made, and they've made a lot of them. It has been the tradition of "churchianity" to nail the annual Sabbaths to the cross for hundreds of years. That does not make it so, and I will take the time to prove it. Colossians 2: 'Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.' The New Testament does not confirm that the annual Sabbaths have been abolished by "Christ Jesus". The Newer Testament says Paul, a Pharisee, was in complete harmony with the Torah (Acts 24:13-14, Acts 25:7-8) in festival attendance. Pharisees were zealous for the law (Torah). These going before tarried for us at Troas. And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days. Acts 20:5-6 Paul wanted to--but could not go to Jerusalem this particular year because of a plot on his life. So, at Philippi--a place that did not have then and still does not have an Hebrew synagogue-- Paul kept Passover and the feast of Unleavened Bread with gentiles. If the only reason Paul was going to Jerusalem was to preach the good news to unconverted Hebrews, but not to keep the feasts himself, why then, without a multitude of Israelites in sight, does Paul still keep these two feasts with his gentile converts? Paul, by keeping the feasts named in the covenant (Exodus 23:14-15) even with Gentiles, is displaying spiritual integrity. In a place where no Israelite could witness or judge his behavior, Paul still obeyed the command of YHWH. Why? The simple solution: Paul taught the Philippians and all his other converts to do as he did, and as Yahushua did for that matter. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do, Philippians 4:9, (see also Philippians 3:17, I Corinthians 4:16 and I Corinthians 11:1). It certainly was not a cultural thing, a habit hard to break. Culture prohibited Israelites from keeping feasts with gentiles, remember? When Paul is connected at all with a feast, he is either hurrying to keep it, is keeping it, or has kept it already, all well after Calvary. Acts 18:21 [A.D. 54] ==> Unspecified feast, probably Passover as this was the most highly attended feast. 1 Corinthians 5:7-8 [A.D. 59] and Acts 20:6 [A.D. 60] ==> Passover/Unleavened Bread. 1 Corinthians 16:8 [A.D. 59] and Acts 20:16 [A.D. 60] ==> Pentecost Acts 27:9 [A.D. 62] ==> Day of Atonement. Peter, who preached at Pentecost after the ascension, the disciples, and the rest of the 120 in the upper room must have missed where the man from Galilee did away with this feast. 13

14 Pentecost represents the indwelling of Yah s Spirit, which is precisely what occurred during this feast. If Yahushua's death had nullified the feasts, why did the Spirit of YHWH attest to and bless the feast of Pentecost AFTER the crucifixion? Why so many references to the feasts after the fact if they all met antitype at Calvary? Acts 18:21 shows Paul s personal responsibility in festival observance: I must...keep this feast, while I Corinthians 5:8 indicates our corporate responsibility for festival observance: Therefore let us keep the feast... It appears that no one in the New Testament thought that the feasts were abolished or nailed to the cross. The burden of proof for those who believe that the feasts are not part of the Good News of Salvation rests on the shoulders of those who present this argument. In this case ET- BP offered no evidence, they just SAID the "ceremonial Sabbaths" were abolished and expect us to believe them. An appalling practice, but one that many a ministry employs, relying on the tradition of men to be easy to hear rather than shoot straight with their readers. As we can see, the ceremonial sabbaths that were determined by the moon and observed every year on CERTAIN DAYS OF THE MONTH have been done away with. [That is not what Colossians 2 says.] But the 'Sabbath of the Lord', the weekly seventh day sabbath of creation contained in the 4th commandment still stands. And we keep it on the seventh day of the week, which is our Saturday. [OUR satyrday? We shall see who's day satyrday really is, but first...] EIGHT Mistakes Believers have made with Colossians 2: The phrase Handwriting of ordinances means the Law of Moses, or the Ceremonial Law. The phrase handwriting of ordinances is translated from Cheirographon tois dogmasine and does not appear anywhere else in Scripture. We have no 2nd witness. It does not mean the Law of Moses or the ceremonial law because the phrase law of Moses is in the Greek Old Testament, (the Septuagint) many times and Cheirographon tois dogmasine is never used. Also, the Greek word for law (nomos) does not appear anywhere in the whole book of Colossians. However, from archeological discoveries scholars have learned that this phrase is a business term meaning, Bond or Certificate of debt with its requirements. It is an IOU. In the first century, a bill was written on a clay tablet. When it was paid in full, a nail or spike was driven into it, breaking the tablet, canceling the record of debt. What record of debt is recorded against you? What debt that you can never repay would you like to have blotted out? Psalm 51:1, Psalm 51:9, Isaiah 43:25, Isaiah 44:22. Peter agrees, Acts 3: The Law of Moses is against us, contrary to us, just read Deuteronomy 31:26, Ezekiel 20:25. The Law of Moses is not against us...it is a witness against us. Every law, including the Decalogue is a witness against you if you transgress against it. A law points out our lack. Observing the statutes is for our good. Deuteronomy 6:24, Deuteronomy 10:13, Nehemiah 9:13. Observing any righteous law is always in our best interest. It is not legalism. It is obedience. Legalism means doing what is right. If this creates a problem, perhaps you prefer illegalism? 14

15 3. Paul was saying not to let fellow believers (including himself) judge you. Paul was saying not to let the false teachers with their vain precepts judge the service of the Colossians (which Paul had taught them). A modern application is to be made. It is only understood if the added italicized words (days in verse 16 and is in verse 17) are removed. Scholars say that the line Which are a shadow of things to come is a parenthetical statement. Meaning that if you put it in parentheses that it will be better understood. Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath (which are a shadow of things to come), but the body of Christ. Do not let anyone BUT the body of righteous believers judge you. 4. Some even say that Paul nailed the clean/unclean flesh statute (Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14:3-21) to the cross. Do you think Paul, a Pharisee, would tear off a part of the Law of Moses? Matthew 5:17, Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. Destroying one jot or tittle of the Torah would make Paul (or anyone else) a false teacher, Isaiah 8:20--To the Law [Torah] and to the testimony [of the prophets], if they speak not according to this word, there is no light in them. This word law (nomos) is the Greek equivalent of the Hebrew word Torah. The books Moses wrote. Nowhere in Scripture are the health laws repealed. Fulfilled means he came to show us how it was to be successfully observed, not destroyed. Peter did not believe that the dietary laws had been abrogated. See Acts 10, paying close attention to Acts 10:17-28 and also Acts 11:1-18 as he gives his interpretation of the vision he received. 5. Paul nailed the festival Sabbaths (and the new moon observance which tracked the festival calendar) to the cross. Passover will be observed in heaven, Mark 14: The Spirit still has not fallen in full measure on the assembly of believers (Pentecost). Judgment (Day of Atonement) is still not complete. The final harvest of souls (Feast of Tabernacles) still has not taken place. The new moons will be observed in the new earth, Isaiah 66: Has type met antitype for Paul to so brashly nail them to the stake? Paul continued to keep the feasts well after the Crucifixion: Acts 18:21, 20:16, 27:9, I Corinthians 5:7-8, and 16:8. 6. The phrase Sabbath days means the ceremonial or annual Sabbaths. In every other place in Scripture that Sabbath days is used as a phrase it refers to the weekly Sabbath. (Matthew 12:5, 12:10, 12:12, Mark 3:4, Luke 4:31, 6:2, 6:9, and Acts 17:2). Why would Colossians 2 be the exception? Fact is, days is in italics--therefore is added text and should be immediately discarded. It should read as Sabbaths. (Note: The term ceremonial Sabbath or annual Sabbath is foreign to Scripture.) Paul was actually referring to several Old Testament passages: I Chronicles 23:31, II Chronicles 2:4, 8:13, 31:3, Nehemiah 10:33, Ezekiel 45:17 and Hosea 2:11 where the three different appointments in time are listed together: annual feast days, monthly new moons, and weekly Sabbath. If Paul was referring to the annual Sabbaths, he was needlessly repeating himself. Feast days, new moons, feast days. 7. Colossians 2 says the meat and drink, holydays, new moons, and ceremonial Sabbaths were shadows of things to come. They all met anti-type at the crucifixion. 15

16 Sorry, Paul rightly said that they ARE a shadow of things to come. He wrote this book about 33 years after the crucifixion and he was speaking in the present future tense, not past tense. The feast days, new moons and Sabbaths point to some yet future fulfillment. 8. Bad grammar. Some try to nail the ordinances to the cross because Passover is an ordinance (Exodus 12:12-14). This argument fails when you realize that the verb is singular not plural. If you presented a school paper that said The ordinances was nailed to the cross, you would have been penalized for bad grammar, yet this is precisely what many are doing. They are forcing their theology onto the text. Please note also that of ordinances is a prepositional phrase and cannot be the subject of the verb. The handwriting was nailed to the cross and it was the handwriting that was against us. This is the handwritten record of our sin (made by our recording angel) that is nailed when we repent. Here s another problem: notice the pronoun, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross. If ordinances were in reference here, Paul would have said and took them out of the way, nailing them to his cross. Now, read Colossians 2:14-17 again! 14. Blotting out the certificate of sin-indebtedness that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it [the accusing witness] out of the middle of the court assembly, nailing it to his stake. 15. And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it. 16. Let no man [false teacher, see vss. Colossians 2:4, 8, 18, 20-22] therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath: 17. (which are a shadow of things to come) but the body of believers. The Sabbath here in Colossians 2:16 is the Greek G4521, Sabbaton, which is the equivalent of the Hebrew H7676, Shabbath. If the feasts and New Moon are abolished in this verse, so is the weekly Sabbath. In truth, NONE of them were abolished by Yahushua. Have you read Matthew 5:17-18 lately? He said Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Go outside and look up. Now look down. If heaven and earth are still there, the law stands. Remember the last thing ET-BP said above, calling satyrday OUR Sabbath? OK, I admit it, Israel worshiped on satyrday, and if they had NOT done so, we would not be calling it satyrday today. But you have borne the tabernacle of your moloch [king] and Chiun your images, the star of your god which you made for yourselves. Amos 5:26. Chiun is the Hebrew word for saturn. But that does not mean their worship was acceptable to YHWH. In this verse Amos sees a day where Israel worships a star-god that they would make for themselves which means that Israel would have been in apostasy at the time. 16

17 Stephen, in Acts 7:43, quotes Amos and is translated as Remphan, which is Greek for saturn. (See quote from Hutton Webster on page 7 above.) Satyrday is a day found exclusively on the pagan seven day planetary week. Satyrday was the first day (not the seventh) of this pagan calendar week from at least 600 B.C. and perhaps further back. The Father s calendar is found in the sun and moon (the two great lights), not in the planets. Why am I spelling it satyrday instead of saturn s day? Because saturn and the satyr are both linked to the same false system of worship. Do this word study with your concordance. Isaiah 13:21 says But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there. The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; the screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest. Isaiah 34:14 In both cases, the Hebrew word here translated as satyr is Strong s H8163. It would seem that the Father stopped Israel s satyrday observance early on. Speaking to Israel after their deliverance from Egypt, YHWH said And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils, after whom they have gone a whoring. This shall be a statute for ever unto them throughout their generations. Leviticus 17:7. Notice the word for devils below. And they shall no 3808 more 5750 offer 2076 (853) their sacrifices 2077 unto devils, 8163 after 310 whom 834 they 1992 have gone a whoring This 2063 shall be 1961 a statute 2708 forever 5769 unto them throughout their generations Same Hebrew word, H8163, satyrs. Jeroboam and his sons were later cursed for leading Israel BACK into idolatry. II Chronicles 11:15 says And he [Jeroboam] ordained 5975 him priests 3548 for the high places, 1116 and for the devils, 8163 and for the calves 5695 which 834 he had made Same Hebrew word, H8163, satyrs. Jeroboam brought back what YHWH had removed from Israel in Leviticus 17. And nearly every time Jeroboam s name is mentioned thereafter it is either prefaced or followed by the statement, who has made my people Israel to sin. Amos reminded Israel of their satyrday idolatry, Stephen repeated it and it got him killed. Let me share with you why I believe it is a good idea to examine the foundation of the day that most Sabbatarians call Sabbath. Watch for the purple font below because at least one particular scholar DOES believe that satyrday worship is linked to saturn worship, and he proves it VERY convincingly. Ever heard of a dual counterfeit? Only the enemies of YHWH would accept an obvious counterfeit, but for the more elect, the Adversary has a not-so-obvious counterfeit. How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be Almighty, follow Him: but if Ba al, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. I Kings 18:21. 17

18 Ba al is the obvious fraud, but what about the LORD? Every time you read LORD or GOD in all capital letters in Scripture, the underlying Hebrew is YHWH, the Creator s Name. Ba al means Lord in Hebrew. In Hebrew there is no deception, His Name is YHWH, (which is how the Hebrew reads) but in English there is no right answer from which to choose, both mean Lord. YHWH tells us to stop calling Him my Lord (Hosea 2:16-Baali means my Lord ). Friends, what we have here is a dual counterfeit; one is obvious, the other not-so-obvious. Which day do YOU keep set apart? Sunday, the current first day of the pagan Roman/papal calendar Saturday, the current seventh day of the pagan Roman/papal calendar. I say current because these days were not always the first and seventh days of the week, respectively. As a side note, I find it very interesting that we pronounce the n in woden s day (wednesday), but we don t for saturn s day (saturday). Have you ever heard of a satyr? The cloven footed half-man, half-goat the universal symbol of Satan himself? Sunday is the obvious fraud. Only the enemies of YHWH would observe sunday, in honor of the pagan sun-god. But every satyrday, of every week, of every year, Sabbatarians everywhere, in spite of themselves, worship on satyrday a day named after Satan himself. Very cleverly, the Adversary receives his worship every week, all year long, by sincere folks who believe they are following YHWH. Friends, what we have here is a dual counterfeit; one is obvious, the other not-so-obvious. Even if saturday really is named after saturn, don t think we are going to get off the hook so easily. Saturn worship is the oldest form of Satanism and is clearly and historically linked to satyr, the horned goat. The Adversary does not care how you spell his many different names, or which one you worship, as long as you do not worship YHWH. Please feel free to connect the dots Satan (or Pan) is also called the Horned God Pan a lusty satyr, half-man, half-goat, was given to every form of licentiousness and debauchery. Kronos, the father of the gods for a certain wicked deed, was called Titan, and cast down to hell. Kronos is none other than Satan himself. Titan, or Teitan, as it is sometimes spelled, is the Chaldee form of the Hebrew word Sheitan (Satan), the common name for the Adversary. In the region where the Chaldean Mysteries were originally concocted,--that Adversary who was ultimately the real father of all the pagan gods,--and who (to make the title of Kronos (Saturn), the Horned One, appropriate to him also) was symbolized by the Kerastes, the Horned serpent. 18

19 Horned goat, horned serpent, father of the gods.hmm. Kronos claims to be in charge if TIME! Kronos is where we get our word Chronology, the study of time. Kronos, said another way, is also known as Father Time. Cue Scriptural support: Daniel 7:25, see also Isaiah 14 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of Elohim: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High. Isaiah 14:13-14 The word congregation here is the Hebrew word Mo edim, which means appointed times. A mountain in Scripture is a controlling power or seat of government. The prophecy above is proclaiming that someone will claim to sit on the mount of YHWH s appointed times. He is saying that he will control the calendar, and the appointed times. And indeed he does, but only in the hearts and minds of his followers, having no control of YHWH s calendar appointed times or the Children of the King. Now, the name Saturn in Chaldee is pronounced Satur; but, as every Chaldee scholar knows, consists only of four letters, thus S T U R. This name contains exactly the Apocalyptic number 666 S = 60 T = 400 U= 6 R = The information in the purple font was gleaned from Alexander Hislop s classic, The Two Babylons Truth is a two edged sword. If we are going to condemn sunday observance as worshipping on the venerable day of the sun, satyrday Sabbath keepers need to look in the mirror. Is worshipping on a day named after Satan any better? Satyrday bears the name of our enemy. However, to assume that Israel observed the pagan seven day planetary week in the first century when Rome themselves did not is sheer lunacy. Rome did not officially adopt the seven day planetary week until A.D. 321 when Emperor Constantine became a christian. At that time, saturn s day was the 1st day of the seven day planetary week that Rome adopted, not the 7th. 20 Rome ruled the world in the first century B.C., thus the Roman numerals, but this is not a Roman calendar. This is a bona fide pagan seven day planetary week as it existed from about 600 B.C., until A.D. 321 when Constantine venerated the day of the sun. You see, Constantine worshiped Mithra, the Persian version of the sun god. He did not want the day of the sun taking a back seat to saturn, so when he venerated the day of the sun all he did was bump satyrday from the coveted #1 position of the week all the way to the seventh day, which was vacated by all the other days moving up one position in the weekly cycle, permitting the sun s day to hold the preeminent position. Satyrday was not the seventh day of the week anywhere on earth until A.D. 321, and only then by virtue of Constantine, not the Creator Almighty, so it certainly was NOT the Sabbath of Israel at any time in earth s history. In the first century, Rome observed a repeating 8 (EIGHT) day calendar week. They were identified as A-B-C-D-E-F-G-H. Seen below is an actual copy of a first century Roman calendar. At that time, the months of january, april, the equivalent of the 6 th month (june), sextember (august), september, november and december each had 29 days instead of 30 or 31 days that they consist of now. Also, there was a 13 th month (intercalary) added 7 times over a 19 year period. 20
