I met Brian Hoeck in 2011 in Bakersfield, California for a live-recorded debate on the Lunar Sabbath, hosted and produced by John VanDenburgh. DVD's were made and duplicates used to be available at the address given below. Two were selected to present the evidence FOR the Lunar Sabbath and two others were chosen to present their evidence AGAINST the Lunar Sabbath. Brian and I were on opposite sides of this debate. If this dvd debate is still available, you may be able to obtain it here. It was entitled, Lunar Sabbaths: Pros and Cons. Bible Explorations P.O. Box Terra Bella, CA Orders: (877) info@bibleexplorations.com If you get the dvd's and wonder who Brian is glowering at during his presentation, that would be me. It was kind of funny actually. He was trying to bore holes through me. Brian had nothing on the Lunar Sabbath in 2011, and he has nothing in it now. No, I have not read this new study against the Creation Calendar yet, but that is how confident I am in YHWH, His Sabbath, and man's inability to bring anything against the Creator's established truths. Brian writes in black, dark red, and this custom plum color. His original article is found here: I will respond in green, [bracketed in green in mid paragraph], a little blue and red. Dated: Sabbath: Counted From the New Moon? Many, having come to the understanding that the Fourth Commandment was not nailed to the cross with Christ, began setting apart the Sabbath day for holy use. Standing in their faith, people would choose to lose their jobs rather than work late on Fridays and chance transgressing the boundary of the Sabbath at sunset that evening. [Standing up for one's belief, even in the face of disgrace or loss of a job is not evidence that what they believe is true--only that they are willing to endure deprivation for that belief.] However, in recent years, and amidst the various calendar controversies, questions have arisen in certain circles: Have we been keeping the wrong day? Should the Sabbath count start with the sighting of the new moon? Apparently, some have answered in the affirmative. Followers of this reckoning provide many, many writings of men for their support (due to lack of direct Scriptural support). [A lack of direct Scriptural support? Come now let us reason together. There is Scriptural support, which will be forthcoming.] For example: "All the days are styled "favourable," an expression which must indicate a pious hope, not a fact, since the words ud-khul-gal or umu limnu ("the evil day") are particularly applied to the seventh, fourteenth, nineteenth, twenty-first, and twenty-eighth days...with regard to the reasons which dictate the choice of the seventh, fourteenth, twenty-first, and twenty-eighth days, two views have been entertained. It has been held, in the first place, that the "evil days" were selected as corresponding to the moon's successive changes; hence that the seventh day marks the close of the earliest form of the seven-day week, a week bound up with the lunar phases." (Hutton Webster, Rest Days: A Study in Early Law and Morality, New York: The MacMillan Company P. 224) [This is about Babylon's lunar calendar.]

"Asurbanipal in the seventh century promulgated a calendar with a definite scheme of a seven-day week, a regulation of the month by which all men were to rest on days 7, 14, 19, 21, 28. The old menology of Nisan [1] that made the two days of the dark moon, 29, 30, rest-days, so that each lunar month had 9 rest-days, on which neither the sick could be cured nor a man in difficulty consult a prophet; none might travel and fasting was enforced." (S. Langdon, Babylonian Menologies and the Semitic Calendars, London: Oxford University Press, 1935, pp.86-87) [This is also Babylon's lunar calendar.] "The association of sabbath rest with the account of creation must have been very ancient among the Hebrews, and it is noteworthy that no other Semitic peoples, even the Babylonians, have any tradition of the creation in six days. It would appear that the primitive Semites had four chief moondays, probably the first, eighth, fifteenth, and twenty-second of each month, called sabbaths from the fact that there was a tendency to end work before them so that they might be celebrated joyfully." [2] (The New Schaff-Herzog Encyclopedia of Religious Knowledge, Vol.10, p.135) "It is powerfully urged by the believers in a primitive Sabbath, that we find from time immemorial the knowledge of a week of 7 days among all nations-- Egyptians, Arabians, Indians -- in a word, all the nations of the East, have in all ages made use of this week of 7 days, for which it is difficult to account without admitting that this knowledge was derived from the common ancestors [Adam and Eve] of the human race. Among all early nations the lunar months were the readiest large divisions of time...(and was divided in 4 weeks), corresponding (to) the phases or the quarters of the moon. In order to connect the reckoning by weeks with the lunar month, we find that all ancient nations observed some peculiar solemnities to mark the day of the New Moon." (The Popular and Critical Bible Encyclopedia, Vol. 3, 1904, p.1497) 1. Sabbath and New Moon (Rosh Hodesh), both periodically recurring in the course of the year. The New Moon is still, and the Sabbath originally was, dependent upon the lunar cycle. Both date back to the nomadic period of Israel. Originally the New Moon was celebrated in the same way as the Sabbath; gradually it became less important, while the Sabbath became more and more a day of religion and humanity, of religious meditation and instruction, or peace and delight of the soul, and produced powerful and beneficent effects outside of Judaism. (Universal Jewish Encyclopedia, p.410, Holidays ) Bless his heart, 4 of the 5 quotes above (the first 4), I had never seen before. Brian has done more homework that I it seems. I find it interesting that a nay-sayer can unearth quotes that support the Lunar Sabbath that this Lunar Sabbatarian has not found. HalleluYah! The sheer weight of all the commentaries, encyclopedias, and other such writings used by teachers of this reckoning would almost seem to prove this doctrine true. [Lunar Sabbath keepers do not use the preponderance of historical evidence as anything other than a second witness. Without Scriptural support, these writings would have no merit whatsoever.] But before one readily accepts it, let us recall the Biblical admontion (sic) to "put all things to the test, and hold fast to that which is good." The next three paragraphs are Creation Calendar 101: Genesis 1:14 says that the two great lights would be for signs, seasons, days and years. Thus the calendar of Yah is in the heavens. Exodus 31:13, Ezekiel 20:12, and 20:20 all say that the Sabbath is a sign, using the SAME Hebrew word found in Genesis 1:14 (owth), meaning signal or beacon. 2

Psalm 104:19 says that the moon will regulate the seasons (mo edim--appointed times, set feasts). Leviticus 23:1-3 shows the weekly Sabbath to be the first feast (mo edim-- appointed times, set feasts). This is Scripture, and according to Isaiah 28:9-10, this is called evidence. This alone is enough to prove that the Sabbath is by the moon, but it does not answer every possible question as to HOW or WHY that might take place. Yours is not to ask WHY. Either do (obey) or do not. The HOW will only be answered by going outside and looking AT the clock and watching for patterns. The following is how believers are told in Scripture to determine what is truth. 1. In Scripture: If I find 2-3 witnesses, texts saying the same thing, (Genesis 41:32, Deuteronomy 19:15, II Corinthians 13:1) then it is truth that I must admit and comply with. 2. In Scripture: If I find a single text saying "thus saith YHWH", (Deuteronomy 8:3b, Luke 4:8, Matthew 4:10) it is truth; it is my duty to obey His command whether there are 2-3 witnesses or not. 3. In Scripture: If I find a chain of texts where there is an unfolding of truth, one expounding upon the other, (Isaiah 28:9-10), this reveals truth that I am responsible for. For example, Genesis 1:14 says that the luminaries in the heavens regulate the seasons (Hebrew: mo'edim). Psalm 104:19 reveals that the moon alone regulates the seasons (mo'edim). Leviticus 23:1-3 calls the weekly Sabbath a feast (mo'edim). This is a chain of evidence that cannot be questioned. 4. If it is in the law [Torah] or the prophets, it is true, Isaiah 8:20. If something outside of Torah and the prophets agrees with the Torah and the prophets, neither adding nor diminishing aught (Deuteronomy 4:2), it is the straight truth. The standard listed in Isaiah and Deuteronomy (above) was given to trump Test 1 IF the 2-3 witnesses are false witnesses (speaking not according to the Torah and the prophets). 5. A doctrine or accepted belief that fails any of the above 4 tests means that it is NOT true. YHWH says that He will do NOTHING unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets, Amos 3:7. If the prophets are silent, then it did not come from YHWH. If there is no "thus saith YHWH, no 2-3 witnesses, no chain of inter-textual evidence and thus no support found in the Torah and the prophets, then it is my privilege to admit it and tell others that it has no foundation in truth. 6. Any historical evidence that agrees with Scripture (e.g. the Torah and the prophets) is acceptable as supportive evidence of the truth. Any historical record that disagrees with or contradicts Scripture, failing the first 4 tests above, is a lie in the highest order of magnitude. 7. If someone makes a statement, it does not matter if 1000 witnesses come later saying that he did NOT say such and such or did not MEAN such and such; the spoken word of the person in question (Almighty Yah, the prophets, you or I) takes precedence over that of all his defenders OR detractors. 3

8. If someone claims to be Messiah, or a prophet, or to have a special message for the body of believers, but fails to pass Tests 1, 2 and 3 above, then Isaiah 8:20 and Deuteronomy 18:18-22 (in essence, Tests 4 and 5) must be applied. If what they say doesn t come to pass or they speak not according to the Torah or the testimony of the prophets, fear them not, there is no light in them. Included here are the tests that the New Testament (NT) authors recognized and taught their converts. John and Paul instructed their converts/followers to try the spirits (I John 4:1), to prove all things and hold fast that which is good (I Thessalonians 5:21), and also to search the Scriptures daily to see whether these things (that Paul taught them) were so, Acts 17: As silly as this might sound, the Carpenter from Nazareth never quoted a verse from the NT because the ONLY Scripture in existence during the first century was the Old Testament. In other words, the NT must meet the standard of the OT, not the other way around. In truth, if a NT writer does not meet the standard of the law [Torah] the testimony of the prophets, there is no light in this writing either. Brian is about to use some of these passages to show you just how knowledgeable he is, but he will not apply them to the evidence he is about to share with us regarding the Sabbath. As students of the Word of God, we should all be aware of the measuring stick for doctrine: "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, throughly (sic) furnished unto all good works." (II Tim 3:16,17) "To the Law and to the Testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." (Isaiah 8:20) Remember this passage Brian. We should always use this plumbline to measure all things we build our spiritual house with. Let us begin our testing of the "Lunar Cycle Sabbath" doctrine with the introduction to the Word of God--the book of Genesis. First of all, it is not the "Word of God". I've noticed that Brian has used Christ and God (so far) in his presentation. God is the name of the Scandinavian pagan sun deity (throughout history and by various tribes) he was called God, Gott, Goth, Gawd, etc. The Creator has a Name, but it is not God. Christ is translated from the Greek word Cristos, and means anointed (same as the Hebrew word Meshyach--Messiah). This might merely be a translational issue if it weren't so sinister underneath. Cristos and Messiah have the same meaning (anointed) but Cristos IS the name of a pagan Greek god. Christian means Christlike. Why would a believer in the Most High want to be like a pagan Greek god? In fact, YHWH commanded that we not take the names of false "gods" upon our lips. And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth. Exodus 23:13 4

Brian is a feast keeper, but apparently he has never accepted the Sacred Name. I am not being flippant with my next statement. The Sacred Name is vitally important to moving forward as the Father shines His Light upon His original truths. It is, therefore, no wonder that Brian is lagging behind. If you reject or fail to accept or examine new (old) truths, the Father is not going to share any further light with you until you have accepted whatever doctrine you rejected or failed to accept. So if Brian has been exposed to the Sacred Name but still calls the Almighty by pagan names, that explains several things. Sabbath Of Creation What day of creation week did God rest upon, and sanctify and bless as a holy rest? Was it the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, or seventh day? The seventh day of the week, naturally. "And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all His work which God created and made." (Genesis 2:2,3) Ok, now which of the creation days did the new moon appear on? Was it the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, or seventh day? Hmm. This question is misleading the way it is worded. Even though I guarantee you that he considers the correct answer to be the 4th day, that answer presents an insurmountable quandary. You see, New Moon is the first day of each month. The first month of earth's history began at Genesis 1:1-2. There is no such thing as a partial day, a partial week, a partial month or partial year ESPECIALLY at the beginning of time here on earth. I will explain more in a bit. "And God said, 'Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth': and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: He made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day." (Genesis 1:14-19) Giving Genesis chapters 1 & 2 an overview, one can gather the following: Creation Week Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4 Day 5 Day 6 Day 7 No Moon in existence yet No Moon in existence yet No Moon in existence yet Sun, Moon and Stars created 2nd day of the Moon 3rd day of the Moon 4th day of Moon God rests; He sanctifies and blesses this day--the 7th day of the week 5

Not so. The sun moon and stars (says heaven AND earth) were created in Genesis 1:1-2: New Moon (Genesis 1:1-2) Day 1 of week (Genesis 1:3-5) Day 2 of week (Genesis 1:6-8) Day 3 of week (Genesis 1:9-13) Day 4 of week (Genesis 1:14-19) Day 5 of week (Genesis 1:20-23) Day 6 of week (Genesis 1:24-31) 7 th day Sabbath (Genesis 2:1-3) Please note that heaven AND earth was created in Genesis 1:1-2. Watch and you will come to understand just what this means. The word for create (bara--as used in Genesis 1:1 and 1:27, et al) is not found in Genesis 1: The action word used there is made, "And Elohim made two great lights..." This word made (Strong s H# 6213) is used several times during the creation week and does NOT mean created from nothing. This is the Hebrew word asah, (ah-saw). The Hebrew word asah means advanced upon or appointed, made, like making a bed in the morning. For example: He appointed (asah) the moon for seasons Psalm 104:19. Here David very nearly quotes Genesis 1:14, only he s very specific about the role of the moon. Seasons here in Psalm 104:19 is the same Hebrew word found in Genesis 1:14; mo edim, appointed times or set feasts. If I made you a general in my army, does that mean you did not exist until I pinned the stars on your lapel? No, it means I advanced upon or appointed you as a general in my army. You existed prior to your appointment. Here s the scenario: YHWH created heaven and earth at a certain point in time (in Genesis 1:1-2). He doesn t call it a day (yom) because the time piece that regulates the day was not yet ordained as such, and the sun (which regulates the day) had not been lit. Then on the first day of the week, YHWH lights the sun creating light and, of course, day and night as a result. I'm sorry Brian, but if you read Genesis 1:3-5, the only light source that divides day from night is the sun. The Hebrew word for day (yom) literally means heat (as in from the sun). So the sun regulates the day (and of course the night by default). And since the sun was lit on the first day of Creation week, there are actually three "days" (yom) listed BEFORE the 4th day of Creation. On day four, YHWH made (meaning advanced upon, not created from scratch) the luminaries that He had created earlier [when He created the heavens and the earth and then illuminated on day one], and ordained them, appointed them as time keepers. So, to answer Brian's question above: What this means is that New Moon was the segment of time before the sun was lit, listed in Genesis 1:1-2. It also means that the sun was lit on day one and has been regulating days ever since. It also proves that the sun, moon and stars were not created from scratch on the 4 th day of creation. Honesty permits only ONE answer. And this one honest answer is not what Brian Hoeck is trying to share with his readers. 6

And here is my "proof question" to Brian to prove my point. It is understood that the Hebrew month's were lunar. The second month of earth's history began with a New Moon. Last month began with a New Moon. What, Brian, do you suppose the very first month of the first year of earth's history began with? Answer: New Moon If New Moon (the beginning of the first month) came on the 4th day of Creation week (as Brian wants you to believe), then what month did the days listed from Genesis 1:1 to 1:13 belong to? Time (seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years) all started at the exact same moment on earth. That moment is Genesis 1:1. I know it, Brian knows it, and I know Brian knows it. But will he ever admit the truth? If the Sabbath is indeed to be reckoned from the moon as "Lunar Cycle Sabbath" calendar proponents claim, then one must consider why we find that God rested on the 7th day of creation (which was the fourth day of the moon) rather than resting on the 10th day from "the beginning" of creation.[3] [It is merely Brian's assumption that the month began on the 4th day of Creation week. He offers no evidence, just expects you to believe it. Here's a dirty little secret that Brian neither recognizes as truth, nor does he want you to. New Moon days in Scripture are a third category of day. They never fall on week days, being neither work day nor weekly Sabbath. See ** below.] Also, if "originally the New Moon was celebrated in the same way as the Sabbath," as the Universal Jewish Encyclopedia claims, why then did God not rest on the day the moon was made? (We'll examine the claim that each and every New Moon day is a Sabbath momentarily.) Only the 7th New Moon was a Sabbath (rest day). There are some new Lunar Sabbath keepers who in ignorance assume that the New Moon days are Sabbaths, but they are not. The New Moon celebration (called a convocation) that took place every New Moon was similar to Sabbath worship (also called a convocation), but the entire day of New Moon is not a rest day. This is assumed on Brian's part. Regardless of what the "Jews" did or did not do, New Moon is never called a rest day, other than the seventh New Moon (Feast of Trumpets). ** Genesis 1:1-2 and Ezekiel 46:1 proves that new moon day (the first day of every month, even the FIRST month of earth s history) is a third category of day, not counted as a week day. Ezekiel 46:1 says that the gate to the temple is shut on all SIX working days, but open on the Sabbath and new moon. The 4th day of the week is a work day, right? This is the day Brian wants you to accept as New Moon day. Let's say for a moment that New Moon fell on the 4th day of the week (on a wednesday). If the tabernacle were still here and I asked you, Would the gate have been open or shut?, how would you answer? If you say open because it is New Moon, I would respond that it is a work day, it must be shut. If you agreed, Of course wednesday is a work day, it must be shut. I d reply, But friend, it is New Moon, it must be open. Brian has no correct answer because he is applying a pagan/papal/roman/solaronly/man-made calendar to this Scriptural calendar event. Amos 8:5, Isaiah 66:23 and II Kings 4:23 also prove that the days of set-apart convocation (Sabbaths and new moon days) belong in a separate category, apart from the six common work days. Amos: The unscrupulous venders are seeking to cheat the Israelites, but it is Sabbath and new moon. Israel won't come out to buy their wares until a work day. 7

Isaiah: We will worship YHWH on the Sabbaths and new moon days, not on work days. II Kings: The boy collapses in the field, his mother races out, scoops him up and runs inside. There the boy dies in her lap. So she runs upstairs, places the boy on Elisha's bed, then runs to her husband asking permission to take a donkey and a servant with her to go see the prophet. To which he inquires, It is neither New Moon, nor Sabbath, why do you want to go see him today? Where was the man? In his field. What was he doing? Working. Put the new moon day back in its rightful place in the lunar cycle, and suddenly (IF one is going outside and LOOKING at the Creator s clock--the lights in the heavens) the Sabbaths will be announced by quarter phase moons before the 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th days of each lunar cycle. There is simply NO evidence in Scripture that the Sabbath is EVERY 7th day in succession. There is simply NO evidence in Scripture that satyrday is the Sabbath. Scripture says that the Sabbath is the seventh day of the week. Period. But whose week? Yah s week or the pagan planetary week? Brian wants you to believe it is the latter. The testimony of the first witness stands against this "Lunar Cycle Sabbath" theory. But, let's have all things established in the mouth of at least two or three witnesses. Oh, you want more than one witness. OK, sure, you mean like the 4 witnesses I just gave proving that there are three categories of day in Scripture? Here is more evidence that not all New Moon days were Sabbaths. Please note the source: The foundation of the earth was laid on new moon day (Genesis 1:1). This was a segment of time BEFORE the first work day of the first month of the first year of earth's history. On the first day of the first month, Noah removed the roof from the ark (Genesis 8:13), not typically something that would be done on the weekly Sabbath, but was non-commerce labor. The desert tabernacle was erected on new moon (Exodus 40:2-17), the foundation of Yah's temple was laid on new moon day (I Esdras 5:57) and the foundation of Solomon's Temple was relaid on new moon day (Haggai 1:1, 2, 8, 12). The first census was taken on new moon day (Numbers 1:1-4). Again, not a Sabbath activity, but neither was it commerce. YHWH never sent Israel into battle on the Sabbath, yet the battle of Jericho was a 7 day affair. The first day of the battle of Jericho was on New Moon day (Joshua 6:1-4, Jasher 88:14). There is also another seven day battle in I Kings 20 (see 20:29 specifically). The only way for Israel to be engaged in a seven day siege or battle without violating the weekly Sabbath is if the first day of the seven is New Moon day (see illustration below). There is a convocation that takes place on new moon day, but the convocation is called "holy", not the day. For the Sabbath, the DAY is called "holy". Day one (1) below is New Moon, the first day of the month. x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x7 Sabbath

And it was in the second month, on the first day of the month, that YHWH said to Joshua, Rise up, behold I have given Jericho into thy hand with all the people thereof; and all your fighting men shall go round the city, once each day, thus shall ye do for six days. And on the seventh day they went round the city seven times, and the priests blew upon trumpets. Jasher 88:14, 17 This not only proves the Lunar Sabbath (see calendar on p. 8 above), it also proves that New Moon days interrupt the seven day weekly cycle. The Manna And The Sabbath "And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt. And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness: And the children of Israel said unto them, 'Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.'...and the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 'I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, 'At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God'.' And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host. And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground...and they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted. And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses. And he said unto them, 'This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy Sabbath unto the LORD..." (Exodus 16:1-30) From the above account, it can be ascertained that the 15th day of zif in the year of the exodus from Egypt occured (sic) on the weekly Sabbath. Interesting. Most nay-sayers do not admit that the 15th day of the second month was a Sabbath. Just giving credit where credit is due. The truth is going to be tough on Brian in this rebuttal, so he's going to need all the brownie points he can get. So, give the man his due. Second Month (Zif) Israel camps Quail is sent Manna is sent Manna is sent Manna is sent Manna is sent Manna is sent Double Manna Sabbath Day (day one) (day two) (day three) (day four) (day five) (day six) (day seven) 9

We see here that the Sabbaths occured (sic) then on the 15th and 22nd--and thereby also the 8th (seven days previous) and the 29th (seven days thereafter). This is at odds with some of the "prooftexts" used by some Lunar Cycle Sabbath Calendar proponents. [Those were not proof texts, they are historical quotes that acknowledge Babylon's version of the lunar calendar.] For one, as noted near the beginning of this article, Babylonian archealogical (sic) finds wherein the 7th, 14th, 19th, 21st, and 28th days are "rest days" are often quoted for support of the Lunar Cycle Sabbath teaching, yet we find here in the Scriptural account of the second month after the exodus, Sabbath days of the 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th days of the month, and also the children of Israel laboring on the Babylonian "sabbaths" (at least these 19th, 21st, and 28th days, wherein they gathered manna). The Babylonians were pagans, remember? All nations in this era had a lunar-solar calendar that consisted of 12 thirty day months for a total of 360 days in a year. It is true that the Babylonian Sabbath is a perversion of the genuine. But no Lunar Sabbatarian says or believes that because Babylon employed a lunar calendar and Sabbath that this proves that Israel got their Lunar Sabbath from Babylon. The fact is that they BOTH had one, but they had them simultaneously, one did not get it from the other, they BOTH got it because the lunar-solar calendar extended from the Garden of Eden. The tower of Babel was built using the language of Eden (of heaven actually). So Yah dented the original language of earth, making many where there had been only one. Likewise, once scattered, these heathens segregated into their different language groups and were worshipping their pagan deities using the CALENDAR of Eden (of heaven really). It if ain't broke, don't fix it. The lunar-solar calendar was the only calendar known to man at that time, so Yah slightly altered the relationship between the earth, sun and moon knowing full well that only His people would continue to observe His appointed times using the original calendar and instructions in Scripture while the pagans, under no such restraint, would create calendars of their own to suit their own pagan ideals. This calendar scramble is historically known to have taken place in the 8th or 7th century B.C. At the Tower of Babel Yah altered the languages of the earth, leaving behind a remnant of the original with the Shemites who were in mountains to the east and who would have maintained the original language of Eden -- Genesis 10:31 to 11:9. In a similar fashion, Yah dented the original calendar of earth, ultimately causing many differing calendars where there had been only one True Calendar. The righteous patriarchs and ultimately the nation of Israel continued to observe this calendar because they were given only these calendar instructions in Torah. This dent caused only two previously un-encountered calendar issues. Originally there were always 2 days of New Moon every month and there were always 12 months every year. With whatever YHWH did to His calendar in the cosmos, the moon was moved a half day closer to earth making a 29.5 day lunar cycle where there had originally been a 30 day cycle, and the sun moved a little more than 5 days further away, making a day year where there had originally been a 360 day year. Interestingly enough, there is not a single command in Torah that says, Thou shalt have 30 days in a month. Or Thou shalt have 12 months in a year. So the resulting changes Israel had to make to continue to observe the Creation Calendar broke no laws. At times, now, they had 29 day months, meaning some months had only one day of New Moon, where there had originally always been two. And now, 7 times every 19 years, a 13th month had to be added to keep Passover in line with the barley harvest. 10

Questions To Ponder: If the 14th day of the month is always Sabbath, why do we find Scripture declaring the 14th day of the first month, the month of the abib, to be a day of preparation? (see Matt 27:62; Mark 15:42; John 19:14, 31, 42; all of which correspond to the fact that there is no command in Torah to rest from labor on Passover, the 14th day of the abib). Why would anyone ponder this question? The 14th day of the month is never the Sabbath. No Lunar Sabbatarian believes that Abib 14 is the Sabbath. Abib 14 was a Babylonian Sabbath, not Hebrew. Abib 14 (Passover) is always preparation day for the Sabbath (Abib 15). The 10th day of Abib (the day commanded in Torah to set aside the Passover Lamb) is a work day. The man from Galilee rode on a donkey making it work on Abib 10, they cut palm branches, there was buying and selling of Paschal lambs in the temple courtyard, and on Abib 10, he healed a man and everyone thought it was wonderful. He wasn t accused of breaking the Sabbath. Luke 19:35-45, Matthew 21:2-15. Abib 10 floats on the Roman calendar. The 14th day of Abib is always the preparation day for the Sabbath and first day of Unleavened Bread. Matt. 27:62, Mark 15:42, Luke 23:54--24:1, John 19:14, 31, 42 John 20:1. Abib 14 floats on our current version of the Roman calendar. The fact is that the 10th, 14th and 16th of Abib are, without exception, commanded work days. The barley harvest could begin on the 16th only after the Wave Sheaf had been offered and accepted, Leviticus 23:9-14. If there is a continuous 7 day cycle, every few years either the 10th, 14th or 16th will fall on a satyrday. Evidence: Abib 10 fell on a satyrday in The 14th fell on satyrday in 2004, 2008 and Abib 16 fell on a satyrday in 2002, 2006, and There is no legislation provided to do these tasks a day early or late in case these days "just happen" to fall on the Sabbath, these work dates are fixed. And YHWH never has Israel do common work on a rest day. He is not the Author of confusion. His calendar looks like this, every month, all year long... New Moon Day First Week Day Second Week Day Third Week Day Fourth Week Day Fifth Week Day Sixth Week Day Seventh Week Day (30) If the 15th day of the month is always a Sabbath (Hebrew: Shabbat), which would allow no manner of work upon it according to the commandment, why do we find God defining the 15th day of the abib like a shabbaton, and instructing Israel that certain labors may indeed be performed on it that are not lawful to be performed upon the 7th day Sabbath of the Fourth Commandment? (Exodus 12:16; Leviticus 23:7 "no servile work") [4] 11

For the record, there is no such thing as a Sabbath day's journey in Scripture. That is Talmud, not Torah. And being released from bondage and marching out of Egypt with all their belongings on the Sabbath day was not work, nor did they consider it so. It was a victory parade. Israel had just been in Egypt for 430 years, and in bondage for many generations. They had completely forgotten the Sabbath. The Sabbath was FIRST mentioned to Israel (in Exodus 16) in the middle of the second month of their exodus (the Sabbath Brian admits was the weekly Sabbath on p. 9 above). What better day to be released from bondage (literal or physical) than on the Sabbath? Remember the cripple in John 5:1-10 that the man from Galilee healed on the Sabbath who then carried his bed home? Did he sin? No. The Sabbath And the Full Moon Despite this point, some Lunar Cycle Sabbatarians may actually cite the above example from Exodus 16 and claim it is proof for their doctrine--because the full moon, which is believed by Lunar Sabbath adherents to be a sign of a Sabbath day, can occur on the 15th of the month as well as the 14th. True enough, the full moon can fall on either day--in fact, it can occur the 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, or 16th day after the new crescent is first seen. [5] I have no idea where the footnote leads or what it says, but this is a bold faced lie. I have been examining the almanac for many years, and the observed full moon is about 14.5 days from conjunction. The moon can APPEAR to be full for 2-3 days each month, but only ONE of them is the ACTUAL full moon. A 98% or 99% moon looks full, but is not. A full moon cannot be seen days after conjunction and the moon seen on days would be waning (99%, then 97-98% and so on). Astronomical facts (nature) do not lie. Men do. The observed full moon usually rises at or after the sun sets the evening of the 14th. At times it can rise before sunset, but not generally. The way you can tell if it is the ACTUAL full moon is to examine it at dawn the following morning. The REAL full moon will still be hovering over the western horizon AFTER the sun rises in the east. The entire waxing phase sets before the following sun-up. It is agreed that 2-3 moons can look full, but the real full moon is the first phase of the moon to still be up at day-break the following morning. Questions To Ponder: If the Sabbath is be reckoned by counting seven days after the new moon, how could there ever be a Sabbath on the eighth day of the month as above? I'm thinking someone did not do well at math? It ain't rocket science. Looks like this: New Moon Day First Week Day Second Week Day Third Week Day Fourth Week Day Fifth Week Day Sixth Week Day Seventh Week Day (30) 12

Pause and think on this. If the 2nd Sabbath of a month is to be based upon the full moon (the day of the full moon is the second Sabbath of a month, it is claimed), then what day would be the first Sabbath of a month when the full moon occurs on the 12th, 13th, 15th, or 16th day of the cycle? The full moon does not fall on those days. Those moons are 97% to 99% full. Brian you are swallowing a camel and gagging on a gnat. Again, pause and think on this. The weekly cycle with its culmination in the seventh day Sabbath is independent of both the lunar (monthly) and solar (yearly) cycles. As we saw earlier in the Genesis account, the week began before them both. [This is patently false. Time began in Genesis 1:1, not 1:14. And, Brian, the moon plays a role in the year as well as the sun. The sun brings spring back, but the New Moon of the first month of the year is a lunar event, meaning that the New Year's day IS lunar. I know this and Brian knows this. And I know that Brian knows this, but will he ever admit the truth? When you invest this much into a false doctrine, you rarely come back. It is possible, but I've never seen it.] Weeks run consecutively without "uncounted days" in between as with the lunar-based calendar weeks (wherein the 29th and 30th days of the lunar cycle are not included within the frame of any week). [Brian, you SAY that the weeks run consecutively (because the Gregorian weeks run consecutively--and for no other reason), so please give me an example of weeks that run consecutively in Scripture without uncounted days in between the months (these are New Moon days that are not included in the work weeks). Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, uninterrupted weeks do not exist, but Brian wants his readers to believe that they do without any evidence whatsoever.] Note that in the Exodus 16 account of the manna and the Sabbath, that the Israelites were commanded to gather an omer each day for days 1 through 5 of the week, but were instructed to double the amount on the sixth day to cover the Sabbath. They were never instructed to gather more than 2 omers for Sabbath preparation--they were never told to triple or quadruple the gathering amount. [There is a ONE week sample size in Exodus 16. Whether Israel ate or not on New Moon or when and how much manna was gathered was not presented in the text, so Brian cannot make any hard and fast conclusions about this without running afoul of Deuteronomy 4:2.] How would they have known how much manna to gather anyway, since it was unknown when the moon would reappear, and if the month would be 29 or 30 days? [First of all, at the time of the exodus, there were only 30 day month, so there were always 2 days of New Moon celebration after the last Sabbath of each month.] The fact is, no such provision was given to cover the alledged (sic) rest days of the 29th & 30th each month. Plainly, each week consists of seven days that run back to back. [Back to back weeks are not plainly revealed by the manna. See ** on next page.] Note the fourth commandment itself: "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it." (Exodus 20:8-11) [This is also a one week sample size. In order to have anything to say here, you would need a month's size sample. The lack of New Moon instruction here doesn't negate its place in the calendar.] 13

** Satyrday Sabbatarians have tried for years to use the story of the manna as proof that the Lunar Sabbath is a false teaching. They say the narrative in Exodus 16 offers no instruction for Israel to pick up manna (or not) on New Moon during their 40 years in the wilderness. These same folks admit that the New Moons were observed, but because there is no mention of them in conjunction with the falling of the manna, they say that this proves that the seven day weeks are not interrupted by the New Moon days and therefore, the assumption is that manna MUST have fallen on the New Moon days. In the same breath, these same well meaning folks insist that the days of the week go uninterrupted all the way back to Creation, and with no evidence other than our present Gregorian calendar and their tradition, say that satyrday IS that seventh day. Let me propose that this is not the case for several reasons. (1) When Israel was walking in the Torah, they always observed the same lunar-solar calendar established in Genesis 1. (2) With this calendar, the days of New Moon are described as a third category of day in Ezekiel 46:1, II Kings 4:23, Isaiah 66:23 and Amos 8:5. Since New Moon is a third category of day (neither a work day nor Sabbath) elsewhere in Scripture, then it was a third category of day during Israel s wilderness sojourn. (3) By insisting that Israel gathered manna on New Moon days during their wilderness sojourn, they are adding to Torah, in violation of Deuteronomy 4:2. Scripture does not say whether Israel gathered or ate manna on New Moon days, so they can only speculate. Where Scripture is silent, silence (on our part) is golden. (4) Satyrday is only the seventh day of the week by virtue of Emperor Constantine. In 321 A.D., he venerated the day of the sun which moved satyrday from its coveted position as the first day of the pagan planetary week to the seventh day of the pagan planetary week. Historically, Israel fasted on New Moon days. Says Hutton Webster, the establishment of a periodic week ending in a Sabbath observed every seventh day was doubtless responsible for the gradual obsolescence of the new moon festival as a period of general abstinence, since with continuous weeks the new-moon day and the Sabbath Day would from time to time coincide (Rest Days., p. 255). Each new moon was celebrated with a fast (Jewish Family Celebrations, p. 35). And we also find the following: the sacred festival of the new moon, which the people give notice of with trumpets, and the day of fasting, on which abstinence from all meats and drinks is enjoined... (Philo, Book 26, XXX, 159). I find it interesting that science has shown that fasting once a month is great for your health. Satyrday Sabbath keepers who have knowledge of the health message should jump up and shout, but they won t because they must also admit defeat regarding the manna issue. The land Sabbaths were important enough to the Father to cause Israel to go into captivity for 70 years in Babylon for NOT observing them. These land Sabbaths were also in 7 year sequences (like the days of weeks). Israel could sow and reap for the 6 years, but on the land Sabbath, they were to abstain. The Father caused a triple portion of produce to be harvested on the 6 th year to provide food for Israel during the 6 th year, the 7 th year (land Sabbath) and the first year of the subsequent 7 year sequence, since there was no sowing/reaping during the 7 th year land Sabbath. Also, there was neither sowing, nor reaping during the year of Jubilee. So the 48 th year of the Jubilee cycle had to provide produce for FOUR years (the 48 th, 49 th, th and the first year of the subsequent Jubilee cycle). 14

My point: Just because there is nothing said about eating manna on New Moon days during the 40 year wilderness sojourn does not prove anything. This in no wise disproves the Creation Calendar. Actually, the Jubilee cycle proves just the opposite. The day(s) of New Moon interrupt(s) the weeks, and the th year interrupts the seven 7 year counts. Jubilee cannot double as the first year of the following Jubilee cycle because you can sow and reap on the first year of each land Sabbath, Leviticus 25:3. Israel apparently fasted on New Moon, and in similar fashion, no one could sow and reap during the th year of Jubilee, Leviticus 25:11. New Moon days are a third category of day; the year of Jubilee is a third category of year. It is neither one of the six year of sowing/reaping, nor is it a 7 th year land Sabbath. The commandment clearly shows that we have 6 days of labor in between the weekly Sabbaths--not 7 or 8 as the Lunar Cycle Sabbath would have occur in between the last Sabbath of a month and the first Sabbath of the next month. According to the Bible, each and every week consists of 6 days of labor, followed by the 7th day of rest. Exodus 20:8-11 says nothing about having only 6 days between Sabbaths. All it says is that there are "6 days of labor, followed by the 7th day of rest." Lunar Sabbatarians recognize only 6 work days in a week, then a Sabbath. It's not our fault that the New Moon is a 3rd category of day in Scripture. It's not our fault that nay-sayers do not recognize or acknowledge the distinction of New Moon in Scripture. Scripture proves that New Moon interrupts the weekly cycle of 7 day weeks (New Moon, then 4 seven day weeks) no different than the Year of Jubilee interrupts the land Sabbath cycle (7 seven year cycles, then Jubilees). This fact is consistant (sic) with the Scriptural criteria for determining the Feast of Firstfruits (i.e., Pentecost). And if you use the Catholic count to Pentecost, using the pagan/papal calendar, you can make a case. The problem is, neither Scripture, nor Israel used the pagan/papal calendar or papal count to Pentecost. It is YHWH's feast (Leviticus 23:1-2; 23:15-16), embedded in HIS calendar (Genesis 1:14, Psalm 104:19, Leviticus 23). "And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Sabbaths shall be complete: Even unto the morrow after the seventh Sabbath shall ye number fifty days..." (Leviticus 23:15,16) "Seven weeks shalt thou number unto thee: begin to number the seven weeks from such time as thou beginnest to put the sickle to the corn. And thou shalt keep the Feast of Weeks unto the LORD thy God..." (Deuteronomy 16:9,10) Deuteronomy 16 is not admissible as evidence because it omits quite a number of things, parts of some feasts, omitting other feasts entirely. Please read about the other feasts listed in Deuteronomy 16. None of them have all their details mentioned. Deuteronomy 16 seems to be a review of some sort and certainly cannot be used to support Brian's conclusion. Wave sheaf is not mentioned in Passover/Unleavened Bread. Counting days is not mentioned in Feast of Weeks. The 8th day is not listed in the recounting of Tabernacles. Aren't these parts important to these feasts? 15

Day of Atonement and Feast of Trumpets are omitted entirely. Aren't these feasts vitally important? If we don't have to count days from the morrow AFTER the seventh Sabbath complete as we were instructed in Leviticus 23, then based on Deuteronomy 16 we don't have to observe wavesheaf or the 8th day of Tabernacles either (or observe Day of Atonement or Trumpets at all). See my point? Gotta read EVERYTHING in context. I was hit with this very argument from Deuteronomy 16 several years ago. So I read it, the whole thing, not just the part about Pentecost. When I did it became very clear that Deuteronomy 16 is not instructional and was not meant to be doctrinal, it was review in which just the basics were covered or simply a reminder. We have all been so indoctrinated with a lie that we gloss over the words that are actually there (or not there in this case). It never ceases to amaze me how blind I am (and would remain were it not for the indwelling of Yah's Spirit). And I never cease to be amazed at the blindness of those who think themselves so wise that they fight against YHWH. The Holy Scriptures give us three main criteria for determining Pentecost [6] : 1) The count is to begin on the "morrow after the Sabbath" (during the Feast of Unleavens), (sic) and end on a "morrow after the Sabbath." The first segment begins at the morrow after the Sabbath of Unleavened Bread, that is true. But it does not end on the morrow after the seventh Sabbath, that is the beginning of the next segment. More information to follow... 2) The count is to contain seven Sabbaths---seven complete weeks (culminating on the day after the seventh Sabbath). True. 3) The count is to number days. Not true. We were not told to number days from wavesheaf, we are told to number weeks. The number when we get to the seventh Sabbath complete is seven, not fifty. All three of these criteria must be met in order for Pentecost to be correctly determined in line with the Scriptural commands. Could they all be met utilizing the "Lunar Sabbath" calendar? Let's take a look. [False calendar alert: Passover (Abib 14) is never a Sabbath, see p. 11 above.] First Month--Abib (Lunar Cycle Sabbath Reckoning) New Moon Sabbath Sabbath Passover 16

Xxxxxxxx XxxxxxxxxxX X X X X X X Sabbath (7th) Sabbath X Xxxxxxxxx X X The above date charts stand to show the unscriptural nature of the "Lunar Cycle Sabbath" calendar. The three Scriptural criteria are not met. Counting seven Sabbaths yields a 53 day count (doesn't fit Scripture), and counting days yields a day that is not a "morrow after the Sabbath" (likewise doesn't fit Scripture). The above is not a Lunar Calendar model. Brian is trying to present what Lunar Sabbath keepers believe using lunar months laid out in the pagan/papal Gregorian calendar format. We are only told to number days once we get to the morrow AFTER the seventh Sabbath. This "morrow after" is a divider between the first and second segment of the count. Some have pointed out that ad or od (Strong s H-5704, H-5703) does NOT mean FROM the morrow after the 7th Sabbath, but H-4480 DOES. Guess where THAT word is? Leviticus 23:16 Even unto 5704 the morrow 4480, 4283 after the seventh 7637 sabbath 7676 shall ye number 5608 fifty 2572 days; 3117 and ye shall offer 7126 a new 2319 meat offering 43 unto YHWH Look at what Strong s says about H-5704 whether of space (even unto) or time (during, while, until). Leviticus 23:16 is about time, not space, so we ve been applying the word in the wrong manner all along. The Hebrew actually could be translated: WHILE FROM the morrow (after the) seventh Sabbath (shall ye) number fifty days (and ye shall) offer a new meat offering (unto) YHWH. The Fenton Translation is the ONLY translation that seems to be honest with this evidence: You shall also count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath that you bring the Wave- Sheaf, seven Sabbaths. They must be complete. Then after the seventh Sabbath, you shall count fifty days, when you shall present a new offering to the Ever-Living. Leviticus 23:15-16 If you will read the context of Leviticus 23:15-16, the days are numbered from the morrow after the seventh Sabbath, not from Wave Sheaf. Consider the following calendar with the New Moon days put in an easier position, yet still outside the ranks of the common work day. 18

There are actually 4 steps, and I will follow all 4 of the commands for the count to Pentecost given in Leviticus 23:15-16: 1. The count is required to start from the morrow after the Sabbath [Abib 16] 2. There is required to be seven complete Sabbaths as a part of the complete count 3. New Moon days are not part of the week, so they are not included while numbering Sabbaths. If New Moon days WERE included, there are actually days from wavesheaf to the morrow after the seventh Sabbath, not. 4. There is to be a total of fifty days numbered from the morrow after the seventh Sabbath Here is how you count seven Sabbaths Brian, you ignore New Moon days (in blue) st Month wave sheaf > <1 st Sabbath complete <2 nd complete week nd Month <3 rd complete week <4 th complete week <5 th complete week <6 th complete week 1.. 3rd Month <7 th complete week morrow after > th Sabbath th Month Feast of Weeks/Pentecost, days from the morrow <= after the Seventh Sabbath This is how you count days. Please count the underlined days listed above. The 9 th day of the third month is the morrow after the seventh Sabbath. This is not the first day of the because the command is to count days FROM the morrow after the seventh Sabbath, not days from the seventh Sabbath. Also, when counting days, New Moon days must be included because they are individual days on the monthly calendar, they are just not included when counting Sabbaths complete (complete weeks). The count to Pentecost ends on the 29 th day of the 4 th month. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, please tell me which count fits Scripture (as Brian suggested above). 19

And guess what? The wheat planted in Scriptural time was harvested in the summer, the same season as the grapes and olives and figs. For a short study on this issue, click here: For a complete study on the REAL count to Pentecost, click here: The Father, for reasons known only to Him, offered an equation rather than a date for Shavuot (aka: Feast of Weeks or Pentecost). My theory (and I am speculating) is that YHWH foreknew that there would be a counterfeit count (the one the Catholic church and Brian is offering) so He established an equation that truthseekers would find and use to determine that Feast of Weeks is on the 29th day of the 4th month which is in agreement with the Lunar Calendar established at Creation, while nay-sayers, reading the SAME EXACT text, would come to a different conclusion. One organization who keeps the "Lunar Cycle Sabbath" calendar claims that the count to Pentecost should begin on Aviv 16, which in 2001 occurred on April 11. Their given date for Pentecost 2001 is June 1 (determined by counting 7 "lunar Sabbaths" and the day after). Would the three criteria for correctly determining Pentecost be fullfilled (sic) counting from such a date in this calendar reckoning? Let us count. Counting from April 11 to June 1 yields 52 days--2 days over the Scriptural criteria of days. While this count is also in error, also using the counterfeit Catholic model, they at least knew not to include the two days of New Moon in their count. So, while the concept of excluding New Moon days is correct, their calendar model is not. Not all Lunar Sabbatarians (or Protestants, or Catholics, or Muslims, et al) are created equal. Another teacher of the Lunar Cycle Sabbath Calendar begins his Pentecost count (elevation sheaf day) on the 22nd of the aviv every year, and thus observes Pentecost on Sivan 15 every year. [This too is incorrect, not even following the instructions in Leviticus 23:6-7, 11, 15 of beginning the count from the morrow after wavesheaf (Abib 16).] This year, the month of the aviv was 29 days and the second month was 30 days (thus a 53 day count). This is not the only year that this Pentecost reckoning is incorrect, but this will happen EVERY year. If both months were 30 days, you have a 54 day count, and if both consisted of 29 days, you'd have a 52 day count--not one matching the Scriptural command. In short, the count to Pentecost by any Lunar Cycle Sabbath Calendar reckoning will never fulfil (sic) the Scriptural command of days. Brian, Catholics and most Protestants keep sunday, the first day of the week set apart to "God". This is in error. Sabbath keepers (Jews, Adventists, 7th day Baptists, et al) keep the seventh day of the pagan/papal calendar as the Sabbath of YHWH. This too is in error. Pointing out the intrinsic fallacies of an entire religion is one thing; cherry picking the false doctrines observed by a few Lunar Sabbath keepers is quite another. Their error cannot be put on the shoulders of other Lunar Sabbatarians who embrace not that error. Is Every New Moon Day A Sabbath? No, why do you ask? 20

At the start of this article, the Universal Jewish Encyclopedia was quoted as stating, "Originally the New Moon was celebrated in the same way as the Sabbath..." Does this statement stand as truth when measured by the plumbline of Scripture? I understand and agree, to a point. But a conclusion without examination is utter foolishness, so let's try it (examination). What can it hurt? Right? Israel observed New Moon with some of the same activities as the weekly Sabbath, blowing of horns, special sacrifice and a "Holy" (Set Apart) convocation. These are all activities that are distinctly NOT practiced on work days. To that end, the Jewish Encyclopedia is correct, the New Moon is "celebrated" in the same way as the Sabbath. But the only New Moon that is called a Sabbath in Scripture is the seventh New Moon, Feast of Trumpets (Leviticus 23:24-25). These activities alone are rather like the Sabbath, but there was also labor that was performed on New Moon days in Scripture that is conspicuously NOT Sabbath activity. The foundation of the earth was laid on new moon day (Genesis 1:1). This was a segment of time BEFORE the first work day of the first month of the first year of earth's history. On the first day of the first month, Noah removed the roof from the ark (Genesis 8:13), not typically something that would be done on the weekly Sabbath, but was non-commerce labor. The first census was taken on new moon day (Numbers 1:1-4). Again, not a Sabbath activity, but neither was it commerce. YHWH never sent Israel into battle on the Sabbath. Jericho was a 7 day battle/siege. Thus, the first day of the battle of Jericho was on New Moon day (Joshua 6:1-4, Jasher 88:14). There is also another seven day battle in I Kings 20 (see 20:29 specifically). The only way for Israel to be engaged in a seven day siege or battle without violating the weekly Sabbath is if the first day of the seven is New Moon day (see illustration below). New Moon x1 First day x1 Second day x1 Third day x1 Fourth day x1 Fifth day x1 Sixth day x7 Seventh Day Sabbath (30) There is a convocation that takes place on New Moon day, but the convocation is called "holy", not the entire day. For the weekly and annual Sabbaths, the DAY is called "holy". So, the answer to the question is no, every New Moon day is NOT a Sabbath. 21

Let us first briefly examine Amos 8:5, for some may believe that the prophet Amos recorded such proof. Amos 8:5 Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the Sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit? Due to the fact that the Hebrew word translated "new moon" here (chodesh) can also mean "month," some commentators (going back 2000 years) have understood Amos to be referring to a harvest month: Kimchi and Ben Melech interpret it of the month of harvest, when the poor found what to eat in the fields; when they gleaned there, and got a sufficiency of bread, and so had no need to buy corn; and hence these rich misers, that hoarded up the grain, are represented as wishing the harvest month over, that they might sell their grain to the poor, having had, during that month, no demand for it; and so the Targum renders it the month of grain. (John Gill, Exposition of the Entire Bible, Amos 8:5 note) If Amos is speaking of the actual day of the New Moon, is he speaking from viewpoint of Law or tradition? Considering what I know (from examination) about New Moon that Brian does not know (because he chooses to remain in ignorance), Amos here is more than likely referring to New Moon, possibly the seventh New Moon (Feast of Trumpets). The time frame is probably in late summer or early fall when there was actually corn to sell. It is agreed that chodesh can sometimes be translated as 'month', but this passage is not referring to just any month because there is no prohibition to buy or sell after a harvest or at some point during a 'month'. The ONLY times when this prohibition was in effect is the Sabbaths and/or New Moon. And by factoring in corn (grain), we are again limited to late summer or early fall. One must remember that the authors of these commentaries (Gill, Henry, Wesley, Clarke, et al), while not bad men, were not Sabbath keepers, much less knowledgeable of the calendar established at Creation. There may not have been an agenda, but neither was there an effort to accurately present the true calendar of YHWH. Their ignorance of New Moon as a 3rd category of day causes these commentaries to make the same mistakes as our intrepid friend, Brian Hoeck, because they were applying a Scriptural event to a pagan/papal calendar. If every New Moon Day is a Sabbath, why do we not find any command from YHVH to rest upon it (with the exception of Yom Teruah, the New Moon of the 7th month)? [Good question. It is new or ungrounded Lunar Sabbath keepers that proclaim or believe New Moon is to be treated as a Sabbath. As Brian points out, there is no such command. Lunar Sabbath keepers, you should take note when a nay-sayer like Brian can find ought with your doctrine that actually sticks.] Shouldn't we find it listed among the Appointed Times of Leviticus 23, since after all, as the favorite text of Lunar Sabbatarians says, "the moon was made for Appointed Times"? What explanation can be given to the fact that nowhere in Scripture has the command of God been recorded to cease from all labors upon the New Moon Day, or upon the 29th and 30th days of each month? The 29th is a weekly Sabbath. So there IS a standing prohibition to labor on that day, but the 30th is indeed a New Moon. There is no command to cease from all labor on New Moon (with the exception of the seventh New Moon), but neither is New Moon included in the week. 22

If that causes you confusion (Brian, I'm talking to you), please consider the fact that the evidence PROVES that New Moon is neither one of the SIX work days nor weekly Sabbath, and is therefore a third category of day. If every New Moon Day is a Sabbath, why do we find God commanding labor upon the day, and labor being exacted upon the day? Valid question. Lunar Sabbatarians who are guilty of making all New Moon days a Sabbath, should be paying rapt attention and consider that their folly is being pointed out by a naysayer. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, On the first day of the first month shalt thou set up the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation.... Thus did Moses: according to all that the LORD commanded him, so did he. And it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was reared up. (Exodus 40:1,2,16,17 -- read all of Exodus 40:1-33 to see how much labor was done this New Moon Day) In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD'S house should be built.... Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD.... Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him, and the people did fear before the LORD. (Haggai 1:1,2,8,12) If every New Moon Day is a Sabbath, why do we find God commanding Zerubbabel to gather wood and build upon the first day of the month? Recall God's judgment against the man who gathered wood on the Sabbath in Numbers 15: Had I known that Brian was going to point out places where Israel labored on New Moon, I would not have done so on p. 21 above. Also please note that none of this labor can be proven to be paid labor. Free labor is prohibited on any Sabbath, but apparently not on New Moon. If you can find paid labor or commerce occurring on New Moon, then Brian would be making a genuine assault upon the Lunar Sabbath, because the first pillar in the Lunar Sabbath doctrine is that the New Moon is a third category of day being neither work day nor Sabbath. If every New Moon Day is a Sabbath, we should find the command to make the Sabbath offering on the New Moon Days as well. No such command was given. Only the daily offering was to accompany the New Moon offering. (Numbers 28:15) In correlation to the above, we will call forth again this last witness to testify further regarding the offerings. Let us overview the laws of offering as given in Numbers 28: Daily Offerings (Numbers 28:3-8): two lambs of the first year, tenth ephah of flour mingled with oil, drink offering (1/4 hin per lamb) 23

Weekly Sabbath Offerings (Numbers 28:9,10): two lambs of the first year, 2 tenths ephah of flour mingled with oil, drink offering (plus the daily offerings) New Moon Offerings (Numbers 28:11-15): two young bulls, one ram, seven lambs of the first year, 3 tenth-measures of flour mingled with oil per bull, 2 tenth-measures of flour mingled with oil with the ram, several tenth measures of flour mingled with oil for each lamb, drink offerings (half hin per bull, one-third hin for ram, and one-fourth hin per lamb), one kid of the goats (plus the daily offerings--note THE ABSENCE OF THE SABBATH OFFERINGS) Feast of Unleavens (sic) Offerings (Numbers 28:17-25): two young bulls, one ram, seven lambs of the first year, 3 tenth-measures of flour mingled with oil per bull, 2 tenth-measures of flour mingled with oil with the ram, several tenth measures of flour mingled with oil for each lamb, drink offerings (half hin per bull, one-third hin for ram, and one-fourth hin per lamb), one kid of the goats (plus the daily offerings) Firstfruits/Pentecost Offerings (Numbers 28:26-31): two young bulls, one ram, seven lambs of the first year, 3 tenth-measures of flour mingled with oil per bull, 2 tenth-measures of flour mingled with oil with the ram, several tenth measures of flour mingled with oil for each lamb, drink offerings (half hin per bull, one-third hin for ram, and one-fourth hin per lamb), one kid of the goats (plus the daily offerings) Point well made and point taken. Brian, you are mostly preaching to the choir here, but I understand why you are doing this. It makes it look like to your readers that the Lunar Sabbath is based on a false premise, but the Lunar Sabbath I am defending here and presenting to the ladies and gentlemen of the jury is not affected by this accusation. The New Moon is a third category of day in Scripture. I shall not apologize for Lunar Sabbath keepers who did not abandon all of their previous calendar traditions (i.e. only two categories of day--work days and Sabbaths). They put their pants on one leg at a time, just like nay-sayers, and must also answer for their lack of due diligence. Notice that though there is relation between the New Moon offerings and the annual Appointed Times offerings, any such relation between the weekly Sabbath offerings and the offerings of the New Moon is sorely lacking. If the Sabbath is related to the New Moon, one should expect the offerings to relate to one another. There is, in fact, no relation between the weekly Sabbath (regarding its reckoning) and the New Moon. [Thank you Brian. You are doing the Lunar Sabbath movement a great service by pointing out the lack of verity in some of the tenets brought to this movement by well meaning folks who have simply put forth a doctrine based on their own tradition or based on a lack of examination of the evidence.] Specifically, the Sabbath operates independent of the moon phases. [Not only is this last sentence a false statement, this cannot be deduced from the evidence presented by Brian. It is nothing more than a desperate leap based on faith in his tradition, not the faith of Abraham.] The offerings of the weekly Sabbath are actually in relation to the daily offerings. It is this same relation that Leviticus 23 mentions: six days labor, followed by a seventh day of sanctified rest. Leviticus 23 bears witness of the timing of all the Appointed Times of the Eternal. Three of the times listed have no given relation to the lunar cycle and its phases. [Again, a false statement based on Brian's tradition. Genesis 1:14 and Psalm 104:19 clearly establishes the link between the mo'edim of YHWH and the lights in the heavens, the moon specifically, and Leviticus 23:1-3 twice calls the weekly Sabbath a mo'ed, the FIRST mo'ed in a long list of mo'edim.] 24

These are the weekly Sabbath, the Elevation Sheaf Day, and Firstfruits/Pentecost. The weekly Sabbath is simply "the seventh day." There is no mention of "of the month" therein, as with the other Appointed Times. Likewise, both Elevation Sheaf Day and Firstfruits/Pentecost are to be observed "the day after the Sabbath," with again, no mention of any relation to the lunar cycle or its phases. That the link between the moon and the Sabbaths had LONG been established (at Creation no less, and expounded upon with the writing of Torah), means Brian's argument here falls well short of the mark. Not only is it a false conclusion, it is also an exercise in futility. The evidence in Scripture strips this false conclusion bare, exposing it for what it is. The fact that Brian believes this false conclusion only makes it worse...for him. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, these are unforced errors that Brian is making; no one is holding a gun to his head here. His tradition has betrayed him, and he does not even know it. He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him. Proverbs 18:13 Even a fool, when he is silent, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is considered a man of understanding. Proverbs 17:28 The Historical Sabbath The Sabbath Of The First Century C.E. Oh wow. Brian has the chutzpah to try to prove satyrday was the seventh day of the week in the first century. This is going to blow up in his face for sure. Watch now... The general claim of lunar sabbath adherents is that the lunar sabbath understanding was discarded during the Babylonian captivity, and was then replaced by the Sabbath of the day of Saturn (i.e., saturday) at that time. [I have no idea where this "general claim" came from because none of the Lunar Sabbath adherents I know believe this. Israel was still observing the Lunar Sabbath in the first century because saturn's day (satyrday) was still the FIRST day of the pagan planetary week at that time. Only a fool would try to present something as true that history disproves.] Thus, lunar sabbatarians [No Brian, a minute fraction of Lunar Sabbatarians...] would have us to believe that the remnant who returned to the Land of Israel were keeping a false sabbath. This would then continue to be the case in the first century, when Messiah came in the flesh. We find, however, that Jesus kept the same Sabbath day holy as did His fellow Jews about Him, (Matt 12:1-12/Mark 2:23-28; Mark 1:21; 3:1-4; 6:2; etc.), and we know that He came as one "under the Law," and that He never sinned (i.e., transgressed the Law). Therefore, the Sabbath kept by the Jews in the first centruy C.E. is the same Sabbath from creation codifed at Sinai. Thus, Lunar Sabbatarians would have you believing no such thing. Again, I have NO IDEA what Lunar Sabbath keepers Brian is interviewing to come up with this crap (which is exactly what it is. Perhaps you prefer the word dung?). Israel in the first century kept the same Sabbath established at Creation and codified at Sinai. It was not until the 4th century C.E. (after Hillel II) that Israel once and for all abandoned the Lunar Sabbath for satyrday. This is sustained by history. Only someone who has not examined the evidence would say that Israel started satyrday observance during their Babylonian captivity. 25

The New Moon is still, and the Sabbath originally was, dependent upon the lunar cycle. Universal Jewish Encyclopedia, p No quote can be clearer than this. each lunar month was divided into four parts, corresponding to the four phases of the moon. The first week of each month began with the new moon, so that, as the lunar month was one or two days more than four periods of seven days, these additional days were not reckoned at all. Universal Jewish Encyclopedia, Vol. 10, p Article "Week." the Hebrew Sabbathon was celebrated at intervals of seven days, corresponding with changes in the moon s phases... Encyclopedia Biblica, p In the time of the earliest prophets, the New Moon stood in the same line with another lunar observance, the Sabbath. Ezekiel, who curiously enough frequently dates his prophecies on the New Moon describes the gate of the inner court of the (new) temple looking eastward as kept shut for the six working days, but opened on the Sabbath and the New Moon. Scribner's Dictionary of the Bible (1898 edit.), p. 521 The Hebrew month is a lunar month and the quarter of this period one phase of the moon appears to have determined the week of seven days. Encyclopedia Biblica, p The [early] Hebrews employed lunar seven-day weeks which ended with special observances on the seventh day but none the less were tied to the moon s course. Hutton Webster, in his book, Rest Days, page 254. In the article Shawui Calendar: Ancient Shawui Observance, we find confirmation of a radical change in YHWH s calendar. The [lunar]...calendar was used by all the original disciples of Yeshua... This original Nazarene lunar-solar calendar was supplanted by a Roman planetary week and calendar in 135 C.E. -- when the Bishops of the Circumcision (i.e. legitimate Nazarene successors to Yeshua) were displaced from Jerusalem. This began a three hundred year controversy concerning the true calendar and correct Sabbath. This intimate connection between the week and the month was soon dissolved. It is certain that the week soon followed a development of its own, and it became the custom -- without paying any regard to the days of the month (i.e. the lunar month) --...so that the New Moon no longer coincided with the first day [of the month ]. Encyclopedia Biblica, (1899 edit.), p The calendar was originally fixed by observation, and ultimately by calculation. Up to the fall of the Temple (A.D. 70), witnesses who saw the new moon came forward and were strictly examined and if their evidence was accepted the month was fixed by the priests. Eventually the authority passed to the Sanhedrin and ultimately to the Patriarchate. Gradually observation gave place to calculation. The right to determine the calendar was reserved to the Patriarchate; the Jews of Mesopotamia [Ed. Babylonian Jews] tried in vain to establish their own calendar but the prerogative of Palestine was zealously defended. So long as Palestine remained a religious centre, it was naturally to the homeland that the Diaspora looked for its calendar. Uniformity was essential, for if different parts had celebrated feasts on different days confusion would have ensued. It was not until the 4 th century A.D. that Babylon fixed the calendar Encyclopedia Britannica: Vol. 4, article Calendar. 26

the custom of celebrating the Sabbath every 7th day, irrespective of the relationship of the day to the moon s phases, led to a complete separation from the ancient view of the Sabbath... Encyclopedia Biblica, (1899 edit.), p These imported [from Babylon] superstitions eventually led Jewish rabbis to call Saturn Shabbti, the star of the Sabbath, [and]...it was not until the first century of our era, when the planetary week had become an established institution, that the Jewish Sabbath seems always to have corresponded to Saturn s Day [satyrday]. Hutton Webster in his book, Rest Days, p Thus the condemnation in Amos 5:26 was set in stone. In Amos 5:26, the prophet is recorded as reminding Israel of their apostasy. Israel started worshipping Chiun, a star-god of their own making. In Acts 7:43, Stephen quotes Amos and is translated into Greek as saying Remphan, the star-god Chiun and Remphan are the respective Hebrew and Greek words for saturn. The Sabbath of Scripture is based upon the lunar cycle. So Israel did indeed come to worship saturn on his day, but at a much later date and not by Divine command. With the development of the importance of the Sabbath as a day of consecration and the emphasis laid upon the significant number seven, the week became more and more divorced from its lunar connection... Universal Jewish Encyclopedia: Vol. 10, 1943 edit. Article, "Week," p The four quarters of the moon supply an obvious division of the month...it is most significant that in the older parts of the Hebrew scriptures the new moon and the Sabbath are almost invariably mentioned together. The [lunar] month is beyond question an old sacred division of time common to all the semites; even the Arabs, who received the week at quite a late period from the Syrians, greeted the New Moon with religious acclamations. We cannot tell [exactly] when the Sabbath became disassociated from the month. Encyclopedia Biblica, 1899 edit., pp How is it that Scholars cannot tell when the Sabbath was disassociated from the lunar cycle while modern Satyrday sabbath keepers in general deny that the Sabbath was ever connected with the moon in the first place? Luni-solar calendar foundations of the Jewish calendar extend from the earliest verses of scripture. Natural, uniform motions of the heavenly spheres are the pivotal markers of time reckoning. The list of ancient characters mentioned in the Old Testament used this lunarsolar calendar system of time recording. Observation of lunar phases coupled with solar positioning graduated the lifetime ages of Adam and his descendants.... Changes in the appearance of the moon provided the seven-day week. Originating with ancient interpretations of lunar time, divisions of seven days separate the four basic lunar phases... Starting with a dark new moon, the moon gradually comes into view on following nights. In about seven days the first half of the moon is visible. The second half waxes until full moon at the end of two weeks. Lunar light reverses progression in the third week, waning to half visibility again. A fourth week completes the month, and visibility again diminishes toward a new moon. Completion of four lunar phases comprises the month. Ages of Adam, published in 1995, by Clark K. Nelson. 27

The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib: but Israel doth not know, My people doth not consider. Isaiah 1:3 Add to this list of quotes the ones provided by Brian on pages 1-2 above and you have rather iron clad "evidence" for the Lunar Sabbath in ancient Israel from scholars and historians. And I am FAR from done presenting the historical evidence. Granted historical evidence is never used as primary "evidence" rather it can be a second or third witness. Here Brian goes after the low hanging fruit, historical evidence that tries to support satyrday Sabbath observance in ancient Israel. Truth seekers go for historical evidence that is supported by Scripture. First century evidence provided by the New Testament yet further disproves the lunar sabbath theory. [This should also be interesting. The ONLY weekly Sabbaths that can be date identified in Scripture (including the NT) fall on the 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th days of the month. Without a single exception. Click the link below to see a study that will prove this to be the case. Brian is going to take things OUT of context, and I am going to show you that he does err, not knowing the Scriptures...] The Scriptures tell us that Jesus was killed on a preparation day, that is, the day before a Sabbath (Matt 27:62; Mark 15:42; John 19:14, 31, 42). This day was the Passover, the 14th day of the month of the abib--the day the lamb was killed (Ex 12:5,6; Mark 14:12; Luke 22:7). Now, for those who propose that the Sabbath is the 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th days, as the Babylonians, these Scriptures cannot be reckoned to their understanding. The 14th day of the abib is unequivocally called a preparation day, and said to be the day before the Sabbath. There may have been a few Lunar Sabbath keepers (20 years ago) that believed that the Sabbaths were on the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th days of the lunar month, but fewer still (if any) do today. This is yesterdays news Brian, actually 2 decades of yesterdays news. This paragraph can be completely ignored as this is not mainstream Lunar Sabbatarian belief. For those who hold that the Sabbath is the 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th days of the month, John's gospel account contains witness against this lunar sabbatarian theory. John records that Jesus stood up on the last day of the Feast, the Great Day, and cried out to the crowd. This "last day, that great day" is the eighth day of the Feast of the 7th month and occurs on the 22nd day of Ethanim/Tishri. The next day (John 8:2), Jesus came again to the Temple early in the morning. After His discourse with the scribes and pharisees, (sic) He healed a man who was blind from birth. John recorded that "it was the Sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and open his eyes." (John 9:14). This evidence shows that the 23rd day of Ethanim was a Sabbath that year--yet another impossibilty (sic) for lunar sabbatarians. Brian is trying to prove that the feast of Tabernacles is an 8 day feast meaning that the last great day is the 22 nd and the Sabbath mentioned in John 9:14 is the 23 rd day of the seventh month. Leviticus 23:34-41 (the very verse inside the cover of Brian s Tabernacles 2006 dvd) says three times that Tabernacles is a seven day feast. Please read verses 34, 39 and 41. I pointed this out to Brian in person in 2011, guess he still can't do simple addition. This feast starts on the 15 th, ends on the 21 st. The eighth day is just that, the 8 th day, an addition to the original seven day feast. It falls on the 22 nd of the seventh month and it happens to be the Sabbath (every year). Brian is wresting Scripture to prove his point. Here is the evidence... 28

I too was taught that the 8th day of the Feast, (the 22nd), is the last great day of Tabernacles. Scripture does not teach this however. Leviticus 23:34-36 says that Tabernacles begins on the 15 th day of the seventh month and is a seven day feast. Count the days The 8 th day was an holy convocation, a day added to the 7 day feast. The 8 th day would be the 22 nd day of the 7 th month. The last great day of a SEVEN day feast is the seventh day of the feast, the 21 st day of the 7 th month. Torah even proves that the 8 th day was not even part of Tabernacles because Israel did not have to dwell in their booths on the 8 th day, Leviticus 23:42. It was just the day following Tabernacles no different than Passover is the day preceding Unleavened Bread. Let s see what Scripture calls the day after the last day of the seven day Feast of Tabernacles. Watch now John 8:2 The next day (the day after the last day of Tabernacles is the 22 nd of the month), Yahshua returned to the temple where another lengthy debate took place John 8:59 After which Yahshua was nearly stoned, but he passed through John 9:1 as Yahshua left the temple, He passed by a blind man.read John 9:14: Now it was the Sabbath when Yahshua made the clay and opened his eyes. This proves that the 22 nd day of the 7 th month was and is the weekly Sabbath, just like it says in Leviticus 23. Yahshua returned to the temple because it was the Sabbath. A weekly Sabbath, not an annual Sabbath. And Yahshua attested to this fact--without protest, I might add. Yahshua, his disciples and all of Israel observed this Sabbath, not as part of the seven day feast, but as the EIGHTH day. The eighth day is used as a Hebrew idiom for the weekly Sabbath in several instances in Scripture. What is complicated about this? Brian, why do think that the last great day of a seven day feast is the day after the last day of the feast? There are seven cans of soda in a row. If I were to ask you to hand me the last can of soda, are you going to hand me the box of Cracker Jacks instead? Brian, is this the legacy you wish to leave your readers? There is always harmony in the truth. Outside of the New Testament, other first century writings testify on behalf of the Sabbath of the seventh day week. First century jew (sic) Philo Judaeus wrote often of the Sabbath. In his The Decalogue, he was careful to define the Sabbath as follows: Please note that no HEBREW author Brian is about to quote ever uses the word satyrday when referring to the weekly Sabbath... 29

The fourth commandment has reference to the sacred seventh day, that it may be passed in a sacred and holy manner. Now some states keep the holy festival only once in the month, counting from the new moon, as a day sacred to the Almighty; but the nation of the Jews keeps every seventh day regularly, after each interval of six days. (Philo Judaeus, The Decalogue, XX, p.526) Philo unequivically (sic) distinguished between the practice of others who kept a sabbath counted from the new moon, [Lunar Sabbatarians don't keep just 1 Sabbath a month] and the nation of the Jews, who keep every seventh day regularly, after each recurring interval of six days. He further noted: "But after this continued and uninterrupted festival which thus lasts through all time, there is another celebrated, namely, that of the sacred seventh day after each recurring interval of six days... proclaiming a day of freedom to them also after every space of six days,... having a relaxation every six days..." (Philo Judaeus, The Special Laws, II, XV, sections 56, 66, 67; pp.574,575) It (the number seven ) was also greatly honoured by Moses, a man much attached to excellence of all sorts, who described its beauty on the most holy pillars of the law, and wrote it in the hearts of all those who were subject to him, commanding them at the end of each period of six days to keep the seventh holy; abstaining from all other works which are done in the seeking after and providing the means of life, devoting that day to the single object of philosophizing with a view to the improvement of their morals, and the examinations of their consciences. (Philo Judaeus, On the Creation, XLIII, sect. 128, p.18) "and the miraculous nature of the sign was shown, not merely in the fact of the food being double in quantity, nor in that of its remaining unimpaired, contrary to the usual customs, but in both these circumstances taking place on the sixth day, from the day on which this food first began to be supplied from heaven, from which day the most sacred number of seven began to be counted, so that if any one reckons he will find that this heavenly food was given in exact correspondence with the arrangement instituted at the creation of the world. For God began to create the world on the first day of a week of six days: and he began to rain down the food which has just been mentioned on the same first day;" (Philo Judaeus, On the Life of Moses II, chapter XLVIII, section 266) In order to have a lunar Sabbath, you must have a lunar week. Did Philo link the Sabbath or the week with the phases of the moon? The answer is yes, in fact the lunar week and lunar Sabbath are the only week or Sabbath mentioned in Philo s writings. In fact, Philo never links the Sabbath to satyrday. Brian has taken Philo OUT of context. Please note below that the number 7, the weeks, the Sabbath and the moon are all linked together in Philo s writings. In Allegorical Interpretation, 1 IV (8), it says Again, the periodical changes of the moon, take place according to the number seven, that star having the greatest sympathy with the things on earth. And the changes which the moon works in the air, it perfects chiefly in accordance with its own configurations on each seventh day. At all events, all mortal things, as I have said before, drawing their more divine nature from the heaven, are moved in a manner which tends to their preservation in accordance with this number seven. Accordingly, on the seventh day, Elohim caused to rest from all his works which he had made. 30

Notice that Philo says the moon is perfect in its shape or appearance on each seventh day. Wonder what he meant by that? Had he been writing to Hebrew speaking audience he would have said it perfects chiefly in accordance with its own configurations on each Sabbath day instead of each seventh day because elsewhere in his writings, Philo identifies that when he mentions the seventh day [of the week] he is referring to the Sabbath. Above, he tells us that the moon perfects its own configurations on each seventh day. It was understood, that at the end each period of six work days there would be a weekly Sabbath, thus he is clearly referring to the Sabbath of Creation. Continuing on with Philo: In The Decalogue XXX (159), it says... But to the seventh day of the week he [YHWH] has assigned the greatest festivals, those of the longest duration, at the periods of the equinox both vernal and autumnal in each year; appointing two festivals for these two epochs, each lasting seven days; the one which takes place in the spring being for the perfection of what is being sown, and the one which falls in autumn being a feast of thanksgiving for the bringing home of all the fruits which the trees have produced Let s look carefully at what Philo is saying. To the seventh day of the week He [the Father above] has assigned the greatest festivals, in other words the greatest (longest) festivals have been assigned to the seventh day of the week. Thus Philo is referring to and keeping the same luni-solar calendar established in Scripture, and he calls the first day of each of these seven day feasts the seventh day of the week. Scripture says that both of the seven day feasts (Unleavened Bread and Tabernacles) begin on the 15 th day of their respective months. See Leviticus 23:5-6 and 23:34. Friend, the seventh day of the week is the Sabbath, is it not? If the 15 th is the weekly Sabbath, so are the 8 th, 22 nd and 29 th days of the month. In fact, the 4 th commandment listed in Deuteronomy 5:12-15 links the weekly Sabbath to the day of the exodus. 12 Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as YHWH your Elohim has commanded you. 13 Six days you shall labor and do all your work. 14 But the seventh day shall be the sabbath of YHWH your Elohim. In it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your ox, nor your ass, nor any of your cattle, nor your stranger inside your gates, so that your manservant and your maidservant may rest like yourself. 15 And remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and YHWH your Elohim brought you out from there with a mighty hand and with a stretched-out arm. Therefore YHWH your Elohim commanded you to keep the sabbath day. Indeed, the weekly Sabbath is linked to Creation week in Exodus 20:8-11, but the Sabbath is linked to the day of the exodus in Deuteronomy. That day was Abib 15. Exodus 12 proves that Israel was delivered the day after Passover, which is Abib 14. You do the math. For those as mathematically challenged as Brian, the day after Abib 14 is Abib 15. Numbers 33: 2-3 is a second witness. Are you going to tell me that YHWH, the Creator Almighty is going to link the weekly Sabbath with Creation week AND the exodus, but is not smart enough to establish a calendar where Abib 15 is the Sabbath every year? Come now, let us reason together. 31

Notice Philo did not say they would receive two holydays of festivals, but one, the 15 th. Satyrday Sabbath keepers insist that there will be a satyrday Sabbath that falls during these seven day feasts, and indeed, if the Gregorian calendar were the calendar of Scripture that would be true. But Scripture says nothing of a [satyrday] Sabbath in the middle of these 7 day feasts. To prove the seventh day of the week is the same as the 15th, elsewhere Philo states: And this feast is begun on the fifteenth day of the month, in the middle of the month, on the day on which the moon is full of light, in consequence on the providence of Elohim taking care that there shall be no darkness on that day. Philo s Special Laws II, The Fifth Festival, Section XXVIII (155) In other words, Philo is saying the weekly Sabbath begins these feasts, and is on the 15 th AND is linked to the full moon. I'm so sorry Brian, but this evidence proves the Sabbaths by the lunar calendar is true and the Gregorian false because there is no way a satyrday Sabbath can begin these two festivals on the 15 th in the 1 st and 7 th month each year, on a continuous seven day cycle presented by the Gregorian calendar we have today. The correct calendar of Scripture (and the one described by Philo) looks like this: New Moon Day First Week Day Second Week Day Third Week Day Fourth Week Day Fifth Week Day Sixth Week Day Seventh Week Day (30) Speaking of lunar intervals, in Special Laws I. (178), Philo writes there is one principle of reason by which the moon waxes and wanes in equal intervals, both as it increases and diminishes in illumination; the seven lambs because it receives the perfect shapes in periods of seven days the half-moon in the first seven day period after its conjunction with the sun, full moon in the second; and when it makes its return again, the first is to half-moon, then it ceases at its conjunction with the sun. [All emphasis supplied by author/complier of this study.] The half-moon (first quarter moon) announces the first Sabbath of the month. It is the seventh day of the week, naturally, but this is the 8 th day of the month. New moon day is not counted against the week. The full moon rising at the end of the 14 th day of the month announces the 15 th as the second Sabbath of the month. If the new moon was counted, the quarter phases (or as Philo describes them, the moon as it perfects in its own configurations on each seventh day) would not come at the end of the week, disconnecting the perfection of the lunar cycle from the Sabbath. What Yah has joined together, let not man put asunder. Philo gives a second witness in On Mating with the Preliminary Studies, XIX (102) 32

For it is said in the Scripture: On the tenth day of this month let each of them take a sheep according to his house; in order that from the tenth, there may be consecrated to the tenth, that is to Elohim, the sacrifices which have been preserved in the soul, which is illuminated in two portions out of the three, until it is entirely changed in every part, and becomes a heavenly brilliancy like a full moon, at the height of its increase at the end of the second week. Please let what Philo just said sink in. His readers in those days understood that the weeks were by the moon, same as in Scripture, and that at the end of the second week there would be a full moon. This statement needs no interpretation and is impossible to misunderstand. Please note that even though Philo said that the Sabbath was the seventh day after 6 working days, he never called that day satyrday, Brian does. And Brian took Philo OUT of context, just as I said he would. In an effort to prove that Philo was speaking of Israel's Sabbath and trying to show that each Sabbath was after a 6 day interval, Brian ASSUMES that Philo was referring to the pagan/papal planetary (Gregorian) weeks, when in fact, if you read the context, Philo was talking about LUNAR weeks. Lunar weeks also have 6 work days followed by a Sabbath and THAT is the context Brian neglected to share with his readers, to his shame. And if he willfully neglected to share this information with his readers, he has an agenda and is working for the Adversary. There is no middle ground here. Brian Hoeck is either ignorant (speaking before he has examined the evidence), or deliberately misleading his readers. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, you decide. There is no middle ground here. Brian, I don't have to ask you how crow tastes because I have had to eat crow myself, for I once fought against the truth as you are doing here. I had only to taste it once to kindle a keen distaste that has never left me. If you don't like your false doctrine blasted to smithereens before your eyes, I suggest you abandon your tradition and join the side of this argument that actually has supportive evidence. The Sabbath Amongst The Diaspora Groups of Jews have spread abroad from the Land at various periods in time. We see from Acts 2 alone that Jews were living in Parthia, Media, Elam, Mesopotamia, Judaea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia, Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, Libya, Rome, Crete and Arabia, in fact, in "every nation under heaven." (Acts 2:5). When one looks to the nations to see what day they keep holy, the historical fact is, every group of Jews keeps the same sequence of days, and the same Sabbath--the Sabbath that commences each friday (sic) evening and closes each saturday (sic) evening. Indeed, Israel has been scattered to the 4 corners of the earth. But the "Jews" are not Israelites. Those commonly known as Jews are actually Khazars (descendants of Edom, formerly known as Esau) who officially adopted Judaism about A.D. 700, and became known as "Jews" over the next 200 years. Every place in Scripture where the word Jew is used, the underlying Hebrew, Aramaic or Greek is Judean, meaning one from Judea, which was populated by Israelites. Here is the evidence from the lips of the Jews themselves. Many, including Brian, have placed a certain amount of trust in the Jews, and their example is used as a deciding factor regarding many a doctrine. You decide if that is merited: 33

Here is a paradox... A most ingenious paradox: an anthropological fact, many Christians may have much more Hebrew-Israelite blood in their veins than most of their Jewish neighbors. Jewish author, Alfred M. Lilienthal, What Price Israel, p The 1980 Jewish Almanac, p. 3, in the first chapter entitled, Identity Crisis said Strictly speaking, it is incorrect to call an ancient Israelite a Jew or to call a contemporary Jew and Israelite or a Hebrew. A percentage of the people who are known today as Jews are descendants of Abraham and Isaac, but not of Jacob. History reveals that they are actually the descendants of the fierce Turkish, Khazar tribes which roamed regions of southern Russia and who adopted Judaism between 7th and 9th centuries A.D. No one can deny that the Jews are a most unique and unusual people. That uniqueness exists because of their Edomite heritage. You cannot be English Jews. We are a race, and only as a race can we perpetuate. Our mentality is of Edomitish character, and differs from that of an Englishman. Enough subterfuges! Let us assert openly that we are International Jews. Manifesto of the World Jewish Federation, January 1, 1935, through their spokesman, Gerald Soman. [Emphasis my own.] From the above, we can clearly see that the Jews fully understand their Edomite heritage and as the third edition of the Jewish Encyclopedia for 1925 records: Chazars [Khazars]: A people of Turkish origin whose life and history are interwoven with the very beginnings of the history of the Jews of Russia. The kingdom of the Chazars was firmly established in most of South Russia long before the foundation of the Russian monarchy by the Varangians. (855). Hasdai ibn Shaprut, who was foreign minister to Abd-al-Rahman, Sultan of Cordova, in his letter to King Joseph of the Chazars (about 960 A.D.) speaks of the tradition according to which the Chazars once dwelt near the Seir Mountains. The Seir Mountains are none other than the original land of Esau-Edom - Thus dwelt Esau in mount Seir: Esau is Edom (Genesis 36:8). Seir was a mountain range south of the Dead Sea and was also known as the land of Edom (Genesis 36:21). The Seir Mountains were the home of the Edomites for nearly a millennium (The Edomites arrived in Edom or Seir at the end of the 14th and beginning of the 13th century B.C. Encyclopedia Judaica, Vol. 6, p. 372). Thus we have it from Jewish sources that the Khazars originally dwelt near the Seir Mountains so are racially of Edomite stock, not Israelite. But how and when did Edomites get to Khazaria? There is evidence that in the 6th century BC, some of the Edomites fled their homeland of Seir and migrated north, After the fall of Jerusalem, in 586 BC, the Edomites began to press northward (Ezekiel 36:5). The New Westminster Dictionary of the Bible, ed. by Henry S. Gehman, The Westminster Press, Philadelphia, 1970, p (The Jewish Encyclopedia, Vol. IV, (1905), p. 3). Today, the Khazars are known as Jews, not because of any racial question, but because of their religion. (Jewish historian, Arthur Koestler, The Thirteenth Tribe, New York: Random House, Inc. 1976) 34

Edom is modern Jewry. The Jewish Encyclopedia, 1925 edition, Vol.5, p.41 Keeping the Sabbath from sundown to sundown (which Brian pointed out above as evidence that satyrday is the Sabbath) is a Babylonian doctrine. A full 90% of Israel did NOT leave Babylon to return to the promised land with Ezra and Nehemiah. The descendants of the rabbis who remained in Babylon are responsible for the calendar war mentioned at the bottom of page 26 above, they are responsible for the Talmud (the most foul religious manual this side of the Satanic Bible) and the adoption of several pagan doctrines found in Judaism. In A.D. 700, trying to adopt a state religion, the king of Khazaria sent for ambassadors from the three major religions. They interviewed a Babylonian rabbi, a Catholic priest and a Muslim Imam (or whatever they were called then). They adopted Babylonian Judaism, which is why there is an egg (Ishtar's egg) on the table of modern "Jews" for Passover, their Sabbaths are from sunset to sunset and they begin their months at the first visible crescent. These are all pagan Babylonian practices that were adopted over time by the rabbis who remained behind in Babylon. By the time Khazaria had adopted Judaism, the calendar therein employed was the Hillel II version, which was a corruption between the Roman calendar and the original Hebrew lunar calendar. Now, because the "Jews", who are actually Edomites, are thought to be Israelites, many accept their doctrine as gospel, when it is actually the pagan doctrine of devils. History records the calendar wars in the second to fourth centuries regarding the Hebrew calendar. These "wars" were so contentious that Rome finally put and end to it and demanded Hillel II fix (meaning affix) the Hebrew calendar once and for all, binding it to the current Roman calendar but allowing for him to create postponement laws when the Hebrew festivals ran afoul of the Roman calendar in which it was embedded. One of the better resources I have found is here at World's Last Chance: Sorry to burst your bubble Brian, but you deserve to know the truth and SOMEONE had to tell you. You are free to practice pagan doctrine without penalty as long as you did so in ignorance. Now you are responsible for your actions because you know the truth. Now you know what they mean by the term "burden of truth." Sure, the truth sets you free (from false doctrine), but it also brings responsibility. If Brian knew the gravity of his false teachings, he would run screaming for the hills and hide his head in shame. "Dio Cassius [Roman historian (2nd century C.E.)] also speaks of the Jews having dedicated to their God the day called the day of saturn, 'on which, among many other most peculiar actions, they undertake no serious occupation'...tacitus [Roman historian of the first and early second century] (Historiae, V, 4) thinks that the Jewish Sabbath may be an observance in honour of Saturn..." (Hutton Webster, Rest Days: A Study in Early Law and Morality, New York: The MacMillan Company, 1916, p ). A reference to the Sabbath being on Saturday by the Roman historian Dio Cassius in the second century is taken as proof that the modern week day Saturday is the scriptural commanded Sabbath. But the Roman week, from which the modern week is derived, would not exist for another century after the time of Dio Cassius! So the only Saturday he could have possibly meant was the Egyptian or pagan week day. 35

And since there is no possible way to tell when the long defunct Egyptian week day Saturday was observed, in relation to the Roman week day Saturday that existed a century later, or even IF the Sabbath observed in the second century was the TRUE Sabbath, we therefore have only Jewish and Catholic religious traditions to rely on to tell us when they think the Sabbaths should be kept. F. H. Colson, The Week, 1926, p. 42, maintains that the planetary week is not a pagan interpretation of the Jewish week since the order of the planets is not the real one, but an astrological invention developed by the belief that each individual hour of the day was under the control of a planet. This explanation is given by Dio Cassius (ca. A.D. 220) in his Historia 37, Distributing the 168 hours of the week to each of the planets according to their scientific order, the first hour of Saturday stands under the protection of Saturn, who assumes the control over the day. The first hour of the second day falls to the Sun, the first hour of the third day to the Moon and so forth. In other words, the planet which controlled the first hour became the protector of the day, dedicated to it. But, most will contend, there is historical proof the modern week is the same week observed by the ancient Israelites. But other than Jewish tradition, the best historical evidence available on the subject shows that the modern Roman week came into existence in the 4th century, and was based on a more ancient Egyptian calendar, which was in turn based on the worship of the sun, the moon and the planets (five of which were known anciently). To assume that Israel observed the pagan seven day planetary week in the first century when Rome themselves did not is sheer lunacy. Rome did not officially adopt the seven day planetary week until A.D. 321 when Emperor Constantine became a christian. At that time, saturn s day was the 1st day of the seven day planetary week that Rome adopted, not the 7th. Below is a sketch of the pagan planetary week, circa 100 B.C. saturn s day, sun s day, moon s day, mars day, mercury s day, jupiter s day, venus day 36

Rome ruled the world in the first century B.C., thus the Roman numerals, but this is not a Roman calendar. This is a bona fide pagan seven day planetary week as it existed from about 600 B.C., until A.D. 321 when Constantine venerated the day of the sun. You see, Constantine worshiped Mithra, the Persian version of the sun god. He did not want the day of the sun taking a back seat to saturn, so when he venerated the day of the sun all he did was bump satyrday from the coveted #1 position of the week all the way to the seventh day, which was vacated by all the other days moving up one position in the weekly cycle, permitting the sun s day to hold the preeminent position. The sketch above came from this clay calendar tablet (at left). You see, the dirty little secret is out. Satyrday was not the seventh day of the week anywhere on earth until A.D. 321, and only then by virtue of Constantine, not the Creator Almighty, so it certainly was NOT the Sabbath of Israel at any time in earth s history. In the first century, Rome observed a repeating 8 (EIGHT) day calendar week. They were identified as A-B-C-D-E-F-G-H. Seen above is an actual copy of a first century Roman calendar. At that time, the months of january, april, the equivalent of the 6 th month (june), sextember (august), september, november and december each had 29 days instead of 30 or 31 days that they consist of now. Also, there was a 13 th month (intercalary) added 7 times over a 19 year period. 37

When we quote Dio Cassius as saying that the Jews honored Saturn s day, it would be well for us to use his definition of Saturn s day so that we can understand what he meant by the term. Dio Cassius s understanding of the planetary week is explained in R.L. Odom s book, Sunday Sacredness in Roman Paganism, (1944) in the chapter called Planetary Week in the Third Century on pp There are charts and quotations from Dio Cassius showing that Saturn s day was the first day of the planetary week. The planetary week began on the first day of the lunar month, and Saturn s day was the 1st, 8th, 15th, & 22nd of the month (the 29th day of the month is inferred). [Please note that (as we have been saying) satyrday was the FIRST day of the pagan planetary week.] Their month looked something like this (because lunar months begin with the new moon, and included either 29 or 30 days. The moon taking 29.5 days to get back to the same place again): Saturn s Sun s Moon s Mar s Mercury s Jupiter s Venus (30) The Hebrews also used a lunar month - however, the planetary week was not included in their month. Note that the dates of Saturn s day on the planetary week above on the lunar calendar, line up with the dates of the new moon and Sabbaths on the Hebrew s lunar month. 1 Blue = New Moon Day Red = Sabbath day (30) This is the explanation for Saturn s day in Dio Cassius writings when he said that the Jews honored Saturn s day... The Jews honored the New Moon and the Sabbath on the dates of Saturn s day in a lunar month. Dio Cassius honored the above shown planetary week before Constantine unhinged the week from the month in AD 321, and caused Sunday to be the first day of the week, and Saturday to be the seventh day of the week. However, the Jews did not call the Sabbath Saturn s day. When Constantine switched the calendar so that Sunday was the first day of the week, and Saturday became the seventh day of the week, he also unhinged this variation of the planetary week from the month, so that it looks much like our calendar does today. We look at the planetary week on our calendar of today, and assume that since historians say the Jews honored Saturn s day, that they were on the same calendar, and calculated time the same way we do. 38

However, we are mistaken when we do that. Today s planetary week calendar is designed by the one warned of in Daniel 7:25 who would think to change times and laws. Until our Heavenly Father gives us eyes to see, and helps us understand what the historians were talking about, we read the quotes of history and think they confirm us in our traditional understanding of the Sabbath on Saturn s day. We think it means that Saturday on our Gregorian Calendar is the Saturn s day referred to in history. The Jews did not honor Sabbath on the present seventh day Saturn s day until after they were forbidden by law to meet in Palestine to set the lunar calendar for the year with the Abib, or green ears of barley, or to honor the Sabbath on the Lunar Calendar. The Hillel II calendar, which calculated the beginning of the months and years ahead for about 2000 years or so, and put the Sabbath on the seventh day of Constantine s week, was sanctified by the Sanhedrin during the 4th Century. The blue text above is from a study by my friends, Tom and Elisheba Nelson. As you can see, Cassius' understanding of "satyrday" on the pagan planetary week proves that satyrday was not the 7th day of the Roman week. Couple that with the fact that Israel did not observe the pagan planetary week in the first century and you can completely (and accurately) disassociate the modern assumption that satyrday was the seventh day of the "Roman" calendar week in the first century or the Sabbath of Israel. Don't let men like Brian misuse historical quotes without holding their feet to the fire. If any man will openly and calmly lie to your face, he should be held accountable. If you don't, YHWH certainly will. The Sabbath Amongst The Nations First century Jewish historian Flavius Josephus made record that the Sabbath of God had been enjoined by most all nations: "Nay, farther, the multitude of mankind itself have had a great inclination of a long time to follow our religious observances; for there is not any city of the Grecians, nor any of the barbarians, nor any nation whatsoever, whither our custom of resting on the seventh day hath not come..." (Flavius Josephus, Against Apion/Antiquites of the Jews, Book 2, section 40:282) Williams Jones, a Seventh Day Baptist of the 19th century, collected the names of the days of the week of the various nations into a publication entitled A Chart Of The Week. In this chart, Jones documented the truth of the Sabbath being identified as the 7th day of the week, in over 100 languages. Some of these include: Ancient Syriac, Chaldee Syriac (Kurdistan and Urumia, Persia), Arabic (western Asia, northern and western Africa), Samaritan (Nablus, Palestine), Falashas (Abyssinia), Maltese (Malta), Ethiopic (Abyssinia), Coptic (Egypt), Tamashek (Atlas mountains, Africa), Kabyle (North Africa, Ancient Numidan), Hausa (Central Africa), Hindustani (Muhammadan and Hindu, India), Pasto (Afghanistan), Pahlivi (ancient Persian), Persian (Persia), Armenian (Armenia), Kurdish (Kurdistan), Brdhuiky (Beluchistan), Georgian (Caucasus), Suanian (Caucasus), Ingoush (Caucasus), Malayan (Malaya, Sumatra), Javanese (Java), Dayak (Borneo), Makassar (southern Celebes and Salayer islands), Malagassy (Madagascar), Swahili (east equatorial Africa), Mandingo (west Africa, south of Senegal), Teda (central Africa), Bornu (central Africa), Fulfulde (central Africa), Logone (central Africa), Bagrimma (central Africa), Maba (central Africa), Permian (Russian), Votiak (Russian), Kazani- Tartar (east Russia), Arabic (ancient), Osmanlian (Turkey), Orma (south of Abyssiania), Congo (west equatorial Africa), Wolof (Senegambia, west Africa), D'oc. French (ancient and modern), French (France), Latin (Italy), Italian (Italy), Spanish (Spain), Portuguese (Portugal), Roman (Spain, Catalonia), and yet more. [7] 39

There are 106 languages, to be exact, that use some form of Sabbath as the place name for satyrday, the 7 th day of the Gregorian calendar. This is so weak it boggles my mind. There are over 10,000 languages and dialects in the world today (plus an untold number of old and lost ancient languages from yesteryear). That means that one tenth of one percent of languages call satyrday the Sabbath (or the equivalent). Conversely, that means that 99.99% of all languages and dialects on earth do NOT name satyrday (the modern seventh day of the pagan/papal planetary week) the "Sabbath". Let that number sink in for a moment and ponder why that 0.01% is considered evidence by Brian. Israel has been scattered to the four corners of the earth since 70 A.D. They apparently did not do a very good job of educating the masses. Truth be told, the word satyrday for the seventh day only goes back as far as 321 A.D. and no further as it was the first day of the week prior to that time. Constantine changed it from the first day to the seventh day when venerating the sun. Without question, some nations and languages picked this up and called saturday sabbath or the like, but it is out of tradition, certainly not a command in Scripture. This is not a strong argument against the Creation Calendar; it is a very weak, desperate attempt. Other researchers, historians and astronomers, testify to the veracity of the seven day cycle and its Mosaic origin in creation: "The division of time into weeks is a singular measure of time by periods of seven days that may be traced not only through the sacred history before the era of Moses, but in all ancient civilizations of every era, many of which could not possibly have derived their notion from Moses.. Among the learned of Egypt, the Brahmans of India, by Arabs, by Assyrians, as may be gathered from their astronomers and priests, this division was recognized. Hesiod (900 B.C.) declares the seventh day is holy. And so also Homer and Callimachus. Even in the Saxon mythology, the division by weeks is prominent. Nay, even among the tribes of primitive worshipers in Africa, we are told that a peculiar feature of their religion is a weekly sacred day, the violation of which by labor will incur the wrath of their god. Traces of a similar division of time have been noticed among the Indians of the American continent. Now, on what other theory are these facts explicable than upon the supposition of a divinely ordained Sabbath at the origin of the race?" ("The Christian Sabbath" tract number 271, released by the Presbyterian Board of Publication.) "One of the most striking collateral confirmations of the Mosaic history of the creation is the general adoption of the division of time into weeks, which extends from the Christian states of Europe to the remote shores of Hindustan, and has equally prevailed among the Hebrews, Egyptians, Chinese, Greeks, Romans, and northern Barbarians, --nations some of whom had little or no communication with others, and were not even known by name to the Hebrews." (Horne's Introduction, Volume 1, p.69) Sure, there was a seven day cycle, the first week was seven days long and Moses was instructed to record it for posterity. And every subsequent week since that copied the Creation model, consisted of six work days and a seventh day Sabbath. But there is also a New Moon in the Creation model, the time consuming creation segment found in Genesis 1:1-2. This segment is before the first week, but not PART of the first work week. And whether men like Brian Hoeck and the historians he uses as reference recognize it as a third category of day or not does not change the fact that that is indeed what it is. 40

Please note that while these historians make note of the seven day week, they never call the seventh day satyrday. In the official League of Nations "Report on the Reform of the Calendar," published at Geneva, August 17, 1926, are the following representative statements by noted astronomers: "The week has been followed for thousands of years and therefore has been hallowed by immemorial use." (Anders Donner, "The Report," p.51. [Donner had been a professor of Astronomy at the University of Helsingfors]) Indeed, the week goes all the way back to creation, some 6,000 years ago, and although it is probably assumed, he doesn't call the seventh day satyrday. "I have always hesitated to suggest breaking the continuity of the week, which without a doubt is the most ancient scientific institution bequeathed to us by antiquity." (Edouard Baillaud, "The Report, p.52 [Baillaud was Director of the Pris Observatory]) Doesn't call the seventh day satyrday. "As to Question (1)--I can only state that in connection with the proposed simplification of the calendar, we have had occasion to investigate the results of the works of specialists in chronology and we have never found one of them that has ever had the slightest doubt the continuity of the weekly cycle since long before the Christian era. "As to Question (2) --There has been no change in our calendar in past centuries that has affected in any way the cycle of the week." (James Robertson, personal letter, dated March 12, 1932 [Dr. Robertson was Director of the American Ephemeris, Navy Department, U.S. Naval Observatory, Washington, D.C.]) Doesn't call the seventh day satyrday. Does not know what happened in A.D. 321 either apparently. "As far as I know, in the various changes of the Calendar there has been no change in the seven day rota of the week, which has come down from very early times." (F.W. Dyson, Personal letter, dated March 4, [Dr. Dyson was Astronomer Royal, Royal Observatory, Greenwich, London.]) Doesn't call the seventh day satyrday. Does not know what happened in A.D. 321 either apparently. "Some of these (the Jews and also many Christians) accept the week as of divine institution, with which it is unlawful to tamper; others, without these scruples, still feel that it is useful to maintain a time-unit that, unlike all others, has proceeded in an absolutely invariable manner since what may be called the dawn of history." ("Our Astronomical Column," Nature, London, number 127, June 6, 1931, p.869) Doesn't call the seventh day satyrday. "The week of seven days has been in use ever since the days of the Mosaic dispensation, and we have no reason for supposing that any irregularities have existed in the succession of weeks and their days from that time to the present." (Dr. W.W. Campbell, Statement. [Dr. Campbell was Director of Lick Observatory, Mt. Hamilton, California.]) 41

Been in use since Creation actually, some 2000 years before Moses. Doesn't here call the seventh day satyrday either. "In spite of all of our dickerings with the calendar, it is patent that the human race never lost the septenary [seven-day] sequence of week days and that the Sabbath of these latter times comes down to us from Adam, through the ages, without a single lapse." (Dr. Totten, Statement. [Dr. Totten of New Haven, Connecticut, was Professor of Astronomy at Yale University when this statement was made.]) Doesn't call the seventh day satyrday. Although, I admit that is more than likely assumed by this author for no other reason that the tradition of men. "The continuity of the week has crossed the centuries and all known calendars, still intact." (Professor D. Eginitis, Statement. [Dr. Eginitis was Director of the Observatory of Athens, Greece.]) Doesn't call the seventh day satyrday. I wonder if Brian even noticed these historians never made a positive connection between the seventh day and satyrday. "It is a strange fact that even today there is a great deal of confusion concerning the question of socalled 'lost time.' Alterations that have been made to the calendar in the past have left the impression that time has actually been lost. In point of fact, of course, these adjustments were made to bring the calendar into closer agreement with the natural [solar] year. Now, unfortunately, this supposed 'lost time' is still being used to throw doubt upon the unbroken cycle of the Seventh-day Sabbath that God inaugurated at the Creation. I am glad I can add the witness of my scientific training to the irrevocable nature of the weekly cycle. "Having been time computer at Greenwich [England Observatory] for many years, I can testify that all our days are in God's absolute control--relentlessly measured by the daily rotation of the earth on its axis. This daily period of rotation does not vary one-thousandth part of a second in thousands of years. Also, the year is a very definite number of days. Consequently, it can be said that not a day has been lost since Creation, and all the calendar changes notwithstanding, there has been no break in the weekly cycle." (Frank Jeffries, Statement. [Dr. Jeffries was Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, and Research Director of the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, England.]) All this and he never called the seventh day satyrday. "The week is a period of seven days, having no reference whatever to the celestial motions, -- a circumstance to which it owes its unalterable uniformity...it has been employed from time immemorial in almost all eastern countries; and, as it forms neither an aliquot part of the year nor of the lunar month, those who reject the Mosaic recital will be at a loss, as Dalambre remarks, to assign it to an origin having such semblance of possibility." (Encyclopedia Britannica, 11th edition, Vol.4, p.988, article, "Calendar") Funny, Philo certainly connects the week of seven days to the celestial motions, and HE was an Israelite, a first century Hebrew historian. So guess what? Since Philo was a Hebrew, writing for a non-israelite audience, guess whose testimony I am going to accept? Philo's or the Encyclopedia Britannica's? Oh, yeah, doesn't here call the seventh day satyrday, although it is certainly assumed. 42

Please note: All the changes shared below are man changing man's calendar. In 158 B.C. Rome changed the calendar, changing the beginning of the year from the first month of spring (march) to the middle of winter (january). In 46. B.C., Julius Caesar changed the months so they were no longer connected to the month. In A.D. 321, Roman Emperor Constantine (who worshipped Mithra, the Persian version of the sun god) venerated the day of the sun, moving satyrday from the coveted #1 slot to the seventh allowing the sun's day to move up from the inferior second position to the first. And while the order of the pagan planetary week days did not change, column in which they fell did. First row is pre A.D satyrday sun's day moon's day mars' day mercury's day jupiter's day venus' day sun's day moon's day mars' day mercury's day jupiter's day venus' day satyrday Second row is post A.D This is why and how historians can "accurately" say that the order of days has not changed regardless of the many changes made to the calendar. Oh yes, and in 1582, Pope Gregory lopped off 10 days to make up for an error in the Julian calendar. Th-day, Oct 4, 1582 was followed by fr-day, Oct 15, Again, the order of the pagan/papal planetary week did not change. But the problem here is that the week in reference is the PAGAN PLANETARY WEEK, which was adopted by Egypt and later by Rome (and the papacy), not the week handed down from Creation. It is merely assumed that these weeks are one and the same. Granted, the Creation week has never changed either because YHWH wrote His calendar in the heavens where man cannot mess with it. And the REASON for the assumption that these weeks are one and the same is because of the counterfeit Israelites (the Jews), who worship on satyrday, who got this from Babylonian influenced rabbis, who got it straight out of paganism. There are the links to the chain that you will not be able to break. In fact, I challenge you to try. Before you try, you will need to know the following... OK, I admit it, Israel worshiped on satyrday. But you have borne the tabernacle of your moloch [king] and Chiun your images, the star of your god which you made for yourselves. Amos 5:26. Chiun is the Hebrew word for saturn. But that does not mean their worship was acceptable to YHWH. In this verse Amos sees a day where Israel worships a star-god that they would make for themselves which means that Israel would have been in apostasy at the time. Stephen, in Acts 7:43, quotes Amos and is translated as Remphan, which is Greek for saturn. Satyrday is a day found exclusively on the pagan seven day planetary week. Satyrday was the first day (not the seventh) of this pagan calendar week from at least 600 B.C. and perhaps further back. The Father s calendar is found in the sun and moon (the two great lights), not in the planets. Why am I spelling it satyrday instead of saturn s day? Because saturn and the satyr are both linked to the same false system of worship. 43

Do this word study with your concordance. Isaiah 13:21 says But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there. The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; the screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest. Isaiah 34:14 In both cases, the Hebrew word here translated as satyr is Strong s H8163. It would seem that the Father stopped Israel s satyrday observance early on. Speaking to Israel after their deliverance from Egypt, YHWH said And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils, after whom they have gone a whoring. This shall be a statute for ever unto them throughout their generations. Leviticus 17:7. Notice the word for devils below. And they shall no 3808 more 57 offer 2076 (853) their sacrifices 2077 unto devils, 8163 after 310 whom 834 they 1992 have gone a whoring This 2063 shall be 1961 a statute 2708 forever 5769 unto them throughout their generations Same Hebrew word, H8163, satyrs. Jeroboam and his sons were later cursed for leading Israel BACK into idolatry. II Chronicles 11:15 says And he [Jeroboam] ordained 5975 him priests 3548 for the high places, 1116 and for the devils, 8163 and for the calves 5695 which 834 he had made Same Hebrew word, H8163, satyrs. Jeroboam brought back what YHWH had removed from Israel in Leviticus 17. And nearly every time Jeroboam s name is mentioned thereafter it is either prefaced or followed by the statement, who has made my people Israel to sin. Amos reminded Israel of their satyrday idolatry, Stephen repeated it and it got him killed. Let me share with you why I believe it is a good idea to examine the foundation of the day that most Sabbatarians call Sabbath. Watch for the blue font below because at least one particular scholar DOES believe that satyrday worship is linked to saturn worship, and he proves it VERY convincingly. Ever heard of a dual counterfeit? Only the enemies of YHWH would accept an obvious counterfeit, but for the more elect, the Adversary has a not-so-obvious counterfeit. How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be Almighty, follow Him: but if Ba al, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. I Kings 18:21. Ba al is the obvious fraud, but what about the LORD? Every time you read LORD or GOD in all capital letters in Scripture, the underlying Hebrew is YHWH, the Creator s Name. Ba al means Lord in Hebrew. In Hebrew there is no deception, His Name is YHWH, (which is how the Hebrew reads) but in English there is no right answer from which to choose, both mean Lord. YHWH tells us to stop calling Him my Lord (Hosea 2:16-Baali means my Lord ). 44

Friends, what we have here is a dual counterfeit; one is obvious, the other not-so-obvious. Which day do YOU keep holy? Sunday, the current first day of the pagan Roman/papal calendar Saturday, the current seventh day of the pagan Roman/papal calendar. I say current because these days were not always the first and seventh days of the week, respectively. As a side note, I find it very interesting that we pronounce the n in woden s day (wednesday), but we don t for saturn s day (saturday). Have you ever heard of a satyr? The cloven footed half-man, half-goat the universal symbol of Satan himself? a day named after Satan himself. Sunday is the obvious fraud. Only the enemies of YHWH would observe sunday, in honor of the pagan sun-god. But every satyrday, of every week, of every year, Sabbatarians everywhere, in spite of themselves, worship on satyrday Very cleverly, the Adversary receives his worship every week, all year long, by sincere folks who believe they are following YHWH. Friends, what we have here is a dual counterfeit; one is obvious, the other not-so-obvious. Even if saturday really is named after saturn, don t think we are going to get off the hook so easily. Saturn worship is the oldest form of Satanism and is clearly and historically linked to satyr, the horned goat. The Adversary does not care how you spell his many different names, or which one you worship, as long as you do not worship YHWH. Please feel free to connect the dots Satan (or Pan) is also called the Horned God Pan a lusty satyr, half-man, half-goat, was given to every form of licentiousness and debauchery. Kronos, the father of the gods for a certain wicked deed, was called Titan, and cast down to hell. Kronos is none other than Satan himself. Titan, or Teitan, as it is sometimes spelled, is the Chaldee form of the Hebrew word Sheitan (Satan), the common name for the Adversary. In the region where the Chaldean Mysteries were originally concocted,--that Adversary who was ultimately the real father of all the pagan gods,--and who (to make the title of Kronos (Saturn), the Horned One, appropriate to him also) was symbolized by the Kerastes, the Horned serpent. 45

Horned goat, horned serpent, father of the gods.hmm. Kronos claims to be in charge if TIME! Kronos is where we get our word Chronology, the study of time. Kronos, said another way, is also known as Father Time. Cue Scriptural support: Daniel 7:25, see also Isaiah 14 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of Elohim: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High. Isaiah 14:13-14 The word congregation here is the Hebrew word Mo edim, which means appointed times. A mountain in Scripture is a controlling power or seat of government. The prophecy above is proclaiming that someone will claim to sit on the mount of YHWH s appointed times. He is saying that he will control the calendar, and the appointed times. And indeed he does, but only in the hearts and minds of his followers, having no control of YHWH s calendar appointed times or the Children of the King. Now, the name Saturn in Chaldee is pronounced Satur; but, as every Chaldee scholar knows, consists only of four letters, thus S T U R. This name contains exactly the Apocalyptic number 666 S = 60 T = 400 U = 6 R = The information in the blue font on the page above was gleaned from Alexander Hislop s classic, The Two Babylons. Truth is a two edged sword. If we are going to condemn sunday observance as worshipping on the venerable day of the sun, satyrday Sabbath keepers need to look in the mirror. Is worshipping on a day named after Satan any better? Satyrday bears the name of our enemy. The arguments for this Lunar Cycle Sabbath doctrine may seem weighty due to the amount of words put forth by the hands of men. [Weighty indeed. It is called the weight of evidence, and it has nothing to do with the hands of men.] But when one actually puts their words to the test, as we just have, it is discerned that they are nothing to hold fast to. [And after all the quotes Brian offered, how many actually said that satyrday was the Sabbath or that the Sabbath was the seventh day in an unbroken cycle of seven day weeks? NONE! How many quotes and texts did I offer that revealed that the calendar and week of ancient Israel was indeed tied to the moon's course? Don't let Brian fool you into thinking that the weight of evidence does not mean anything.] The pro-lunar Cycle Sabbath articles I have read contain many contradictions--not only to themselves, but more importantly, this whole doctrine contradicts Holy Scripture. [Seems to me that the contradiction seems to be between the evidence Brian presented and the weight of evidence. None of the evidence Brian offered supported satyrday as the Sabbath, and some of it actually supported the Lunar Sabbath. Naturally, anything written by men will have contradictions, but that which agrees with and supports Scripture stands as a second witness. 46

While men like Brian may try to assail it with their traditions, the truth and any source that supports it will ever prevail. I know, I had to eat crow, remember?] Hold fast to the Word of God brethren, for the winds are most certainly blowing! If you know any brethren who are teaching this error, or who are following it, please share the truth of God's Holy Word with them--gently, and in love. [Correction: Ignorantly, and in love.] I shared much of this evidence with Brian years ago before I ever saw this printed article. That the weight of evidence means so little to him, that the Word of Yah means so little, that the quotes from scholars and historians alike that agrees and supports the calendar of Scripture means so little---speaks volumes. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, there are footnotes yet to come, but this seems to be the end of Brian's assault on the Creation Calendar and Lunar Sabbath. Did Brian Hoeck do what he set out to do? Did he prove that satyrday was the Sabbath? Did he prove that the Sabbath of Scripture is the seventh day of an unbroken cycle of 7 day weeks? Did he disprove the Lunar Sabbath? The answer to all of these questions is no. I don't want this to end on a negative note, so let me ask you a question that you can answer in the affirmative: Did Brian bite off more than he could chew? Respectfully submitted, Troy Miller PS--Please read on, I may have opportunity to shed light of truth upon Brian's footnotes... FOOTNOTES: 1. Don't let the mention of this month name lure you into thinking that this may be Scriptural. Please recall that "Nisan" was not the original name for the first month amongst the Hebrews, but rather it was known as the month of the aviv. "Nisan" is the name the Jews picked up from Babylon (along with the rest of the Calculated Rabbinical Calendar month names). BACK True. There are 5 total names of months (Nisan, Sivan, Elul, Adar, Bul) found in the historical portion of the OT (Kings, Esther and Nehemiah) that use the names of the pagan months that Israel clearly picked up while in captivity. The Creators months had no names; they were called by ordinal numbers, first, second, third, etc. Aviv is a title (not a name), meaning green ears, which designated the first Hebrew month when barley was harvested. 2. Since the Babylonians have no connection between their lunar-based sabbath and creation, and their creation account has no indication that it consisted of seven days, is it any wonder that their sabbath lacks any connection to the week of Genesis 1 & 2 and its holy Sabbath? Is it any wonder that the Babylonian sabbath is not based on a continuous consecutive cycle of seven days, as the Sabbath of Sacred Scripture? Every nation at one point had 12 thirty day months for a 360 day year. This was the year established at Creation. Babylon had the same calendar, but used it differently, and while their Sabbaths were not connected to the Creation Sabbath, the calendar was nearly identical. 47

What I am saying is that there IS a connection between the Babylonian calendar and that of Scripture, but Babylon certainly did not use it to worship YHWH. Up until a certain point in time, all nations and tribes of earth observed the lunar-solar calendar established at Creation. Naturally, the heathens took some liberties with it, but the Shemites (Semites) did not. It is true that the Babylonian Sabbath is a perversion of the genuine. But I don t think any Lunar Sabbatarian says or believes that because Babylon employed a lunar calendar and Sabbath that this proves that Israel got their Lunar Sabbath from Babylon. The fact is that they BOTH had one, and they had them simultaneously, one did not get it from the other, they BOTH got it because the lunar-solar calendar extended from the Garden of Eden. At Babel Yah altered the languages of the earth, leaving behind a remnant of the original with the Shemites who were in mountains to the east and who would have maintained the original language of Eden -- Genesis 10:31 to 11:9. In a similar fashion, Yah dented the original calendar of earth, ultimately causing many differing calendars where there had been only one True Calendar. The righteous patriarchs and ultimately the nation of Israel continued to observe this calendar because they were given only these calendar instructions in Torah. Interestingly, although quoted by lunar sabbatarians, this same resource speaks equivocally, as do many "scholarly" writings, and also contests the argument advanced by Lunar Sabbath adherents: "The Old Testament frequently mentions the sabbath in connection with the new moon (Amos. viii. 5; Isa , lxvi. 23; Ezek. xlvi. 1, 3; II Kings iv. 23; II Chron. ii. 3) and also in connection with both new moon and feast (Hos. ii. 13; Ezek. xlv. 17; Neh. x. 34), but in none of these passages is there the slightest implication that the sabbath was connected in anyway with the moon, particulary (sic) (in contradistinction to the new moon) with the full moon. This statement is decisively confirmed by the commandments regarding the sabbath (Ex. xx. 9-11, xxiii. 12, xxxiv. 21; Deut. v )... It is now held by many that the sabbath is Babylonian in origin, though received by the Jews immediately from the Canaanites; while another hypothesis maintains that the sabbath represents a moon-feast of the nomadic ancestors of the Israelites. The Canaanitic and nomadic theories are both undemonstrable (sic) [i.e., cannot be demonstrated from Scripture or history] and unnecessary... It has also been held that the seventh, fourteenth, twenty-first, and twenty-eighth days of the month, designated as ill-omened, were the Babylonian sabbaths; but for this argument there is no evidence, and it must accordingly be assumed that the fifteenth day of each month was the sabbath of the Babylonians. This day was reckoned that of the full moon, but since the Hebrew sabbath was not connected with the full moon and was a day of gladness, not of penance, and since the Babylonians had no week of seven days, the assumption that the Hebrews borrowed the sabbath from the Babylonians lacks all foundation." (The New Schaff-Herzog Encyclopedia of Religious Knowledge, Vol.10, p boldface emphasis mine ~bh) BACK 48

No, but some of those verses prove that the New Moon is a third category of day. And Genesis 1:14, Psalm 104:19 and Leviticus 23:1-3 (the verses that DO link the Sabbath to the moon) are conveniently not listed. Should I be surprised? Clearly, The New Schaff- Herzog Encyclopedia is likewise ignorant of the weight of evidence or willfully misleading its readers. While I agree with the last line above (underlined by me), the idea presented above that the Hebrew Sabbath was not connected to the moon is overwhelmingly undermined by a vast wealth of resources, some that were there in the first century, others having no agenda other than to present the truth. The fastest way to keep men in perpetual darkness, thus causing men to choose the lesser of two evils (satyrday vs. sunday) is to misrepresent the actual calendar of Scripture either directly (saying that the Hebrew Sabbath had no connection with the moon) or indirectly (assuming that the modern version of the pagan planetary week is actually the calendar of Scripture). Brian and New Schaff-Herzog are guilty of both. The seven day Creation week cannot be dated, its antiquity is unreachable, unsearchable, unassailable. The only recourse we have is Scripture. The seven day pagan planetary week (a counterfeit if there ever was) can be historically dated. To present them as one and the same is disingenuous at best. 3. Some make a claim that the sun, moon, and stars were actually created on Day One due to the fact that there was "evening and morning" the first three days, and thus all that happened on Day 4 is that these heavenly bodies 'appeared' from behind the 'clouds of vapor that had earlier blocked their view'. This claim however does not hold up under Scriptural examination. [Don't know who Brian is quoting, and clearly he is not going to allow his readers to see the original study he is quoting from or offer them a link (as I do), because that would permit his readers to examine these studies and discover his disingenuousness for themselves. That said, it was a weak argument made by the Lunar Sabbatarian he is quoting. My argument will not be.] The word translated "made" in the above Scripture (Gen 1:16) is the Hebrew word "asah": asah--(strong's 6213)--"TO LABOR, TO WORK ABOUT ANYTHING...to make, to produce by labour...to create, as heaven, earth..." (H.W.F. Gesenius, Gesenius' Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon to the Old Testament, p.657). Interesting. First, that Brian found a quote that links the Hebrew word to asah to the creation of heaven and earth and second that it was a Hebrew Lexicon at that. Amazing. Why amazing? Because the Hebrew word asah is not used in Genesis 1:1-2 when heaven and earth are created. That word is bara (which means created from scratch). Consider the following: The first day of Creation week, light was created. This light divided Day from Night. Friends, there is only ONE light in the cosmos that divides Day and Night on earth. The sun. Without the sun, there is no day/night or evening/morning on earth, period. The Hebrew word for day (Yom) literally means heat (from the sun). There were THREE days before day 4 when the sun and moon were allegedly created. I know we were ALL taught that the sun and moon were created on day 4, but that simply is not true, nor does it say in the Hebrew that they were created on day 4. It says they were "made". 49

According to Genesis 1:3-5, this separation of day and night is the sole responsibility of the one great luminary lit on that day, nature proves this to be the sun. Since the sun was lit in Genesis 1:3-5, the moon was thus illuminated as the moon resides in the same heaven with the sun, meaning the sun, moon and stars were not created on day 4! Can this be proven from Scripture? Sure. Moses used two different words in the creation account. One means created from scratch (H#1254, bara) an example of which can be found in Genesis 1:1, the other (asah) doesn t. Brian found an resource that offers an example that is not even Scripturally accurate, placing asah in Genesis 1:1-2 when heaven and earth were created, when the Hebrew word used in that verse is bara, not asah. An example of "asah" can be found in Genesis 1:16. And God made (asah) two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made (asah) the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day. Genesis 1:16-19 Created: בּרא H1254 bârâ, baw-raw, A primitive root; (absolutely) to create; (qualified) to cut down (a wood), select, feed (as formative processes): - choose, create (creator), cut down, dispatch, do, make (fat). See Genesis 1:1 Made: עשׂה H6213 âśâh, aw-saw, A primitive root; to do or make, in the broadest sense and widest application: - accomplish, advance, appoint, apt, be at, become, bear, bestow, bring forth, bruise, be busy, X certainly, have the charge of, commit, deal (with), deck, + displease, do, (ready) dress (-ed), (put in) execute (-ion), exercise, fashion, + feast, [fight-] ing man, + finish, fit, fly, follow, fulfil, furnish, gather, get, go about, govern, grant, great, + hinder, hold ([a feast]), X indeed, + be industrious, + journey, keep, labour, maintain, make, be meet, observe, be occupied, offer, + officer, pare, bring (come) to pass, perform, practice, prepare, procure, provide, put, requite, X sacrifice, serve, set, shew, X sin, spend, X surely, take, X thoroughly, trim, X very, + vex, be [warr-] ior, work (-man), yield, use. See Genesis 1:16 I know I said some of this earlier, but it bears repeating: Asah means made from something, or advanced upon or appointed. The Hebrew word made would be used in this sentence; I made (asah) my bed this morning. The bed was not created from scratch this morning; it was already there, it was only advanced upon and made ready for use the next night. For example: He appointed (asah) the moon for seasons Psalm 104:19. Here David very nearly quotes Genesis 1:14, only he s very specific about the role of the moon. Genesis 1:14 says the two great luminaries in the heavens were created to regulate signs, seasons, days and years. Seasons here in Psalm 104:19 is the same Hebrew seasons found in Genesis 1:14, the Hebrew word mo edim, meaning appointed times or set feasts. Leviticus 23:1-3 calls the weekly Sabbath a feast, using the same Hebrew word, mo edim. So, right from creation, the Sabbath has been regulated by a luminary in the heavens, not by a pagan/papal man-made calendar created for the express purpose of worshipping false gods.

The simple fact is that time on earth began in Genesis 1:1-2, not Genesis 1:3-5. It is the movement of the sun, moon and stars that define time on earth. Also, it is a universal truism that without motion there can be no time. And the inverse is also true, without time there can be no motion. So, since time began on earth at the moment the Creator spoke heaven and earth into existence, what all did He create and set in motion at that time? Do you deny the absolute laws of the universe? You must deny them if you insist that the sun and moon did not exist until the 4 th day of Creation. Lunar Sabbatarians do not deny the universal Codified Law, we embrace it. God thus created the sun, moon, and stars on the fourth day. If God had meant that the sun, moon, and stars merely appeared on Day 4, then He would have inspired Moses to use the same Hebrew word (ra ah) which He inspired him to use in reference to when the dry land appeared as the waters gathered in one place on Day 3 (Genesis 1:9). Au Contraire. The sun, moon and stars did not "appear" on the 4th day, they were created and set in motion (you know, time and motion and all) in Genesis 1:1-2. They were clearly there; the Father merely approached them and announced their job description. They were created in Genesis 1:1-2, and began their time-keeping motions at that moment, the sun was then lit in Genesis 1:3-5. And the absolute inarguable evidence for this is the use of the Hebrew word Yom (day) for the first, second and third creation segments all proving that the light that was lit in Genesis 1:3 was indeed none other than the sun. Brian cannot argue the use of the Hebrew words, all he can do is misrepresent them, as he has attempted to do. He has misapplied asah to Genesis 1:1 and has ignored the use of Yom for the three week days that existed before the 4th creation day. As Genesis 1:1-3 shows us, one of God's actions on the first day was that of creating the unformed, unfilled earth in an otherwise empty heaven. The whole of the earth was in darkness. God then created a light source that shone upon one part of the surface of the earth, while the other part was yet in complete darkness. [Brian just described the sun.] We can be positive that this light source was not the sun, [Unbelievable! Then what light source was it? Let's see if he offers an explanation...] for this same Word of God states that the sun was not created until the fourth day (and the Bible does not contradict itself). [True, it does not contradict itself. However, Scripture has no compunction whatsoever about contradicting the insights of ignorant men.] We can also determine from the Hebrew that the earth was already in motion this first day, for the word translated "night" (layil, #3915), literally means "a twisting away from light." Hence, as the earth made its "24 hour" revolution in front of this light source, there was evening and morning. [And the ONLY light source on earth that has EVER divided day from night has been the SUN! For Pete's sake! This is looking Brian right in the face and it is NOT rocket science!] The earth thus made three complete revolutions before this temporary light source prior to God creating the sun, moon, and stars on the fourth day. [Temporary? Where in creation does he come up with this? He's making stuff up. Brian has BEEN making stuff up about the Lunar Sabbath, now he's getting desperate. I mean this is horribly inexcusable exegesis.] Hence, days, and their corresponding time measurement the week, are not measured by revolutions around the heavenly bodies, but by revolutions of the earth alone. BACK Revolutions of the earth huh? This is now bordering on the hysterically ridiculous. Brian does err, not knowing the Scriptures. The Word of Yah teaches that the earth does not move. 51

Three witnesses Psalm 93:1 - YHVH reigneth, He is clothed with majesty; YHVH is clothed with strength, wherewith He hath girded Himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved. Psalm 96:10 - Say among the heathen that YHVH reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: He shall judge the people righteously. I Chronicles 16: Give unto YHVH the glory due unto His name: bring an offering, and come before Him: worship YHVH in the beauty of holiness. Fear before Him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved. I don t know if you ve considered it until now, but if Scripture says that earth cannot be moved, shall not be moved and be not moved, then those who adhere to the theory that the earth is rotating and revolving around the sun are in direct opposition to Yah s Word. That, friend, is a serious charge. The Sun, however, DOES move Psalm 19:4-6 - Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath He [YHWH] set a tabernacle for the sun, Which [the sun] is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race. His [the sun s] going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his [the sun s] circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof. David was a Hebrew; he had attended and been in a Hebrew wedding. Immediately before a wedding, the bridegroom stepped into a chariot or cart and was driven around the city or village. A herald ran before the bridegroom announcing at the top of his lungs that the feast was made ready and to fall in line for the wedding party. They made a circuit around the city then returned to the home of the groom s father for the wedding. Granted, a race can be run in a straight line, but in context, this race seems to be in a circle, where the starting point is also the finish line. David says that the SUN (not the earth) is like the bridegroom, like a man running a race. If David had said that the earth makes a circuit around the sun, he would have been duplicitous at best, a false teacher or false prophet with no light in him (Isaiah 8:20) at worst. After all, he also wrote that the earth cannot be moved. Neither Brian nor David can have it both ways. Ecclesiastes 1:6 further explains the word circuit. The wind goes south then north, completing its circuit. Joshua 10: Then spake Joshua to YHWH in the day when YHWH delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. 52

The book of Jasher very clearly says that the sun and moon stood still, (Jasher 88:62-65) and adds that, there was no day like that, before it or after it, that YHWH hearkened to the voice of a man, for YHWH fought for Israel. For a complete study on this subject, click the following link: And the simple fact is, that the sun is responsible for day and night in Scripture from beginning to end. There is not a single reference to the revolution of earth anywhere in Scripture. Don't believe me? Go ahead and look. But understand this: I have put as much effort in understanding whether the earth moves or not as I have into the Lunar Sabbath. No stone has been left unturned. That said, do not simply take my word for it. Look. Just don't be surprised at what you find (or don't find). 4. See our article Distinguishing Between "Sabbaths" BACK Check out the link if you wish. It works. Here Brian attempts to distinguish the different Sabbaths by comparing what was permitted or prohibited on the different types of Sabbath (weekly, annual). Amazingly enough, in not one case does Brian actually examine the underlying Hebrew words. No manner of work is compared to no servile work and he assumes that the distinction can be made from the English translation alone. Absolutely amazing. Since Brian cannot be bothered to do the homework, I will do it for you... Ever used a Strong s Concordance? Everyone realizes that Scripture was not originally written in English, right? The Hebrew word for "servile work" in Leviticus 23, Numbers 28 and 29 is H5656. The Hebrew word for work in Exodus 20:10 and Leviticus 23, Numbers 28 and 29 is H4399. H5656-servile, From H5647; work of any kind: - act, bondage, + bondservant, effect, labour, ministering (-try), office, service (-ile, -itude), tillage, use, work, X wrought. H4399-work, From the same as H4397; properly deputyship, that is, ministry; generally employment (never servile) or work (abstractly or concretely); also property (as the result of labor): - business, + cattle, + industrious, occupation, (+ -pied), + officer, thing (made), use, (manner of) work ([-man], -manship). Servile work means ANY kind of work/employment. Work (by itself) means employment, never servile work. It seems to me that servile work covers more work than just plain work. But Brian never considered that. He just looked at the English and came to his false conclusion. However, to be perfectly honest with the text (the only way I can be), the work in the fourth commandment is preceded by the word, any (H3605). H3605-any, From H3634; properly the whole; hence all, any or every (in the singular only, but often in a plural sense): - (in) all (manner, [ye]), altogether, any (manner), enough, every (one, place, thing), howsoever, as many as, [no-] thing, ought, whatsoever, (the) whole, whoso (-ever). 53

Servile work means any kind of work/employment. Any work means all manner of work/employment, but not servile work. Can't do servile work on the feasts, can't work on the Sabbath. Either Brian got it backward or these phrases are nearly identical. What I've written here stands on its own in putting Brian's conclusion on notice. But I would like to respond to a couple of segments he wrote in the study at the link above. He wrote: Does this commanded form of rest differ from the one we read above concerning the seventh day Sabbath? What is the difference of "no work" and "no servile work"? What does the term "servile work" mean? [He asks the question, but never reviews the underlying Hebrew. Amazing.] Let us examine another reference to this commanded rest of the first and last days of the Feast of Unleavens (sic): "...in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done of you." (Exodus 12:16) Laying line upon line, it is determined that the Appointed Times which have no "servile work" allowed upon them differ from the seventh day Sabbath in that food preparation is allowable upon these days. [Utter nonsense. Exodus 12 was a ONE time permission. Israel was leaving Egypt, they did not KNOW that Abib 15 was the Sabbath (having been in bondage for generations) and had no way to prepare food ahead of time, which is one of the reasons YHWH introduced Unleavened Bread to them at this time. See Exodus 12: The fact that they were later prohibited to prepare food on ANY Sabbath is conclusive evidence that Exodus 12:16 was a one time permission.] Contrast this allowance with the example of Exodus 16 concerning preparing food in advance of the Sabbath: "Then said the LORD unto Moses, 'Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no. And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily'...and it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses. And he said unto them, 'This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy Sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.'" (Exodus 16:4,5,22,23) Please note, the word Sabbath first appears in Scripture in this verse. This was a month AFTER the exodus. Israel is JUST relearning about the weekly Sabbath. They had no idea that making food on the Sabbath was wrong, or that the day of the exodus WAS a Sabbath. As seen above, food preparation is to be done previous to the beginning of Sabbath, while on the other hand, food preparation is allowable directly upon the "no servile work" days. Therein then is the difference between "no work" and "no servile work." Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, you read the definitions of these terms above (no thanks to Brian). What say you? If you are still on the fence, please continue... 54

Brian continued: With this in mind, let us continue the overview of the Appointed Times to see which days fit into each catagory: (sic) [Oh wow, Brian believes that there are different categories of Sabbath, but not different categories of day. If I had not seen this with my own eyes, I would not have believed it. This is rather hypocritical, don't you think?] Feast of Firstfruits/Pentecost "And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein..." (Leviticus 23:21) No manner of work should be done upon this day of Pentecost, with the exception of food preparation. Where does it say ANYTHING in the context of this passage about food preparation on this annual Sabbath? Brian, does Deuteronomy 4:2 mean anything to you? Day of Shouting/"Trumpets" "In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a Sabbath [shabbaton], a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. Ye shall do no servile work therein..." (Leviticus 23:24,25) No manner of work should be done upon this Day of Shouting, with the exception of food preparation Where does it say ANYTHING in the context of this passage about food preparation on this annual Sabbath? Brian, you've read Deuteronomy 4:2, right? Day of Atonement "...on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a Day of Atonement...And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a Day of Atonement...And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people. Ye shall do no manner of work..." (Leviticus 23:27,28,30,31) Like unto the seventh day Sabbath, no manner of work should be done upon this Day of Atonement at all. Feast of Tabernacles (1st and 8th days) "On the first day shall be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein...on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you...and ye shall do no servile work therein.... Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a Sabbath [shabbaton], and on the eighth day shall be a Sabbath [shabbaton]. " (Leviticus 23:35,36) 55

No manner of work should be done upon either of these two days, with the exception of food preparation. [Where does it say ANYTHING in the context of this passage about food preparation on this annual Sabbath? Brian?] This fact is noted by the Jews themselves in their Talmud: "Mishnah. There is no difference between festivals and Sabbath save only in the matter of [preparing] food.11" footnote: "(11) Lit., food of the person. I.e., that food for the day may be cooked on festivals but not on Sabbath." [Babylonian Talmud (Soncino edition)- Mas. Megilah 7b] Remember who wrote the Talmud? The descendants of the rabbis who refused to return to the promised land with Ezra and Nehemiah. Wanna see just how vile these men were that we should take their word here about Sabbath food preparation? Disobedience is deeply ingrained in the people who adhere to the Talmud, violating nearly all the commandments, which the Talmud actually permits them to do Rabbi Ismael, Rabbi Chambar, et al: The teachings of the Talmud stand above all other laws. They are more important than the laws of Moses. Trach Mechilla: Jehovah Himself studies the Talmud standing; He has such respect for that book. Rabbi Menachem commentary on fifth book: The decisions of the Talmud are words of the living God. Jehovah Himself asks the opinions of the earthly rabbis when there are difficult affairs in heaven. It is more wicked to question the words of the rabbis than those of the Torah. Michna Sanhedryn 11:3 Now, don t get me wrong. If the Talmud at some point agrees with Torah or the testimony of the prophets on a certain topic, I would not hesitate to quote it as a reference. But with the references below, you can see just how corrupt the Talmud is When you go to war do not go as the first, but as the last, so that you may return as the first. Five things has Kanaan recommended to his sons: Love each other, love the robbery, hate your masters and never tell the truth. Pesachim F., p. 113B How to interpret the word robbery. A goy [non-jew] is forbidden to steal, rob or take woman slaves, even from a goy or a Jew. But a Jew is NOT forbidden to do all this to a goy. Tosefta, Abda Zara, VIII The Jews are human beings, but the nations of the world are not human being nothing but beasts. Baba Mecia, p When a goy kills a goy or a Jew he is responsible; but if a Jew kills a goy he is NOT responsible. Tosefta, Aboda Zara, p

A Jew is permitted to rape, cheat and perjure himself but he must take care that he is not found out, so that Israel may not suffer. Schulchan Aruch, Jore Dia. A Gentile girl who is three years old can be violated. Aboda Zara, 37a. A Jew may violate, but not marry a non-jewish girl. Gad, Shas, 2:2 Brian wishes to discredit the historical sources that lunar Sabbatarians use that support the lunar calendar (which are in agreement with Scripture), yet he feels it is OK to quote from a source as vile as the Talmud. I understand that Brian BELIEVES that the Talmud is in agreement with Scripture here, but I have shown you the meaning of the Hebrew words (he did not), and in Hebrew "servile work" covers more work than just "work". The one verse in Exodus is just that, a ONE time permission to prepare food on the Sabbath. Here Brian AND the Talmud blow it. Swing and a miss. The fact that the seventh day Sabbath and the Day of Atonement are different in their nature of rest is further bore out by the fact that in the whole of the Hebrew Scriptures, only the 7th day Sabbath and the Day of Atonement are ever referred to as shabbat (Strong's #7676), while other Appointed Times of the Eternal (i.e., Day of Shouting/Trumpets, the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles, and the Eighth Day) are referred to as shabbaton (Strong's #7677). (The first and seventh days of the Feast of Unleavens, as well as Pentecost, are not directly referred to in Scripture by either of these designations, but by implication of their designated rest they fall into the catagory (sic) of shabbaton). Search the Scriptures to see if these things are so. Hmm. Brian is going to be sorry he wrote that last line above. Naturally, he does err, not knowing the Scriptures. By now, should you expect anything else? The problem with Brian is that he assumes that his readers will just take him at his word as if it were the gospel, either that or he thinks we are all idiots and have no idea how to search the Scriptures to see if these things are so or that we are too lazy to do so. Shame on Brian. Recorded on tape (dvd actually), during the live debate, Brian repeatedly said that even ONE weekly Sabbath outside the 8, 15, 22, 29 timeframe was a total refutation of the Creation Calendar Sabbath. He did not produce one then, and he has not produced one now, but I will hold him to the same principle. If I can find ONE annual Sabbath referenced by the Hebrew word Shabbat (Strong's H7676) that Brian says is reserved for weekly Sabbaths and the Day of Atonement, that will be a total refutation of his premise above. He THINKS that no one can do it or that no one will try, but I am not your average pew warmer. Watch now, this is how evidence is recorded. Scripture will disprove Brian's statements that I have underlined above... In Leviticus 23:6-11, the phrase "morrow after the Sabbath" (H7676) is used. Leviticus 23:11 And he shall wave H5130 (H853) the sheaf H6016 before H6440 YHWH, H3068 to be accepted H7522 for you: on the morrow H4480 H4283 after the sabbath H7676 the priest H3548 shall wave H5130 it. 57

The Sabbath mentioned here is the Abib 15, the 1st day of Unleavened Bread, which is defined in Leviticus 23:6-11 as a Sabbath. How do I know that Abib 15 is the Sabbath referred to here? Two witnesses, the first links the weekly Sabbath to Abib 15, the date of the exodus... Keep the sabbath H7676 day to sanctify it, as YHWH thy Elohim hath commanded thee. Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh H7637 day H3117 is the sabbath H7676 of YHWH thy Elohim: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou. And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that YHWH thy Elohim brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore YHWH thy Elohim commanded thee to keep the sabbath H7676 day. Deuteronomy 5:12-15 For the second witness, how about a quote from Josephus, the other first century Hebrew historian? In The Antiquities of the Jews, Book 3, Chapter 10, section 5, he has this to say about the Passover season: (248) In the month of Xanthicus, which is by us called Nisan, and is the beginning of the year, on the fourteenth day of the lunar month, when the sun is in Aries (for in this month it was that we were delivered from bondage under the Egyptians, and law ordained that we should every year slay that sacrifice which I before told you we slew when we came out of Egypt, and which was called the Passover; and so we do celebrate this Passover in companies, leaving nothing of what we sacrifice till the day following. (249) The feast of unleavened bread succeeds that of the Passover, and falls on the fifteenth day of the month and continued seven days, wherein they feed on unleavened bread (2) But on the second day of unleavened bread, which is the sixteenth day of the month, they first partake of the fruits of the earth, for before that day, they do not touch them.. (251) They take a handful of ears, and dry them, then beat them small and purge the barley from the bran; they then bring one tenth deal to the altar, to Elohim; and, casting one handful of it upon the fire they leaven the rest for use of the priest; and after this it is that they may publicly or privately reap their harvest. On the morrow after the Sabbath, Israel could wave the sheaf of first fruits. Josephus identifies the date for wavesheaf as Abib 16. I know Brian has been terrible at math in this article, so I'm going to spell it out. If Abib 16 is the morrow after the Sabbath according to Josephus, then the Sabbath is Abib 15. Please read Leviticus 23:6, this is the FIRST day of Unleavened Bread. Also, in Leviticus 25:2, the land Sabbath is called Shabbat (H7676): Leviticus_25:2 Speak H1696 unto H413 the children H1121 of Israel, H3478 and say H559 unto H413 them, When H3588 ye come H935 into H413 the land H776 which H834 I H589 give H5414 you, then shall the land H776 keep H7673 a sabbath H7676 unto YHWH. H3068 There may be more, but I've just produced THREE places (3 witnesses) where an H7676 Sabbath is identified in Scripture and none of them are specifically about a weekly Sabbath or Day of Atonement. In truth, Abib 15 IS a weekly Sabbath, but it is an annual Sabbath too and Leviticus 23:6-11 is in reference to the annual Sabbath, not the weekly Sabbath. 58

Oh, and you thought I was DONE? Not on your life. That was just the Old Testament. As proven already on p. 29 above, the 8th day of Tabernacles (the 22nd day of the seventh month) is referred to in the Greek New(er) Testament as a Shabbat. John 9:14 And it was the sabbath day G4521 when Yeshua made the clay, and opened his eyes. G4521 σάββατον sabbaton sab'-bat-on Of Hebrew origin [H7676]; the Sabbath (that is, Shabbath), or day of weekly repose from secular avocations (also the observance or institution itself); by extension a se'nnight, that is, the interval between two Sabbaths; likewise the plural in all the above applications: - sabbath (day), week. Oh, and remember when I said that Abib 15 (the day after Passover Abib 14, the day before wavesheaf Abib 16) was a weekly AND an annual Sabbath? John 19:31 says that very thing... The Judeans therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, G4521 (for that sabbath G4521 day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. An high day is a weekly AND annual Sabbath. So, contrary to what Brian said above (it is still underlined for you), I have found 3 passages where Abib 15 is referred to as a H7676 Sabbath, one passage that refers to the 8th day of Tabernacles (the 22nd of the seventh month) as a H7676 Sabbath and one passage that refers to the land Sabbath as an H7676 Sabbath. Brian, never challenge a Berean to search the Scriptures unless you already know what he will find. Someone please read Proverbs 18:13 and I Corinthians 10: "The necessary time for full moon varies from to days after conjunction." (Richard A. Parker, The Calendars of Ancient Egypt, pp.6,7). "The difference between the first days of an exact month [conjunction] and an observed lunar month [crescent sighting] is one or two days, or in exceptional cases three days." (B.L. van der Waerden, Journal of Hellenic Studies, vol. 80, 1960, p.169, article: "Greek Astronomical Calendars and their Relation to the Athenian Civil Calendar"). Being that the new crescent is not seen until hours after conjunction (i.e., 1-3 days), there would be even greater variability between new crescent and full moon than quoted above concerning conjunction and full moon. The precise full moon can occur anywhere from the 12th day after the new crescent, up until the 16th day after the new crescent. This entire paragraph is false but parts of it CAN be true depending on WHERE you are on earth. Let me explain. Quite a bit north of the Tropic of Cancer and south of the Topic of Capricorn, the first crescent can be first seen about 15 hours after conjunction (assuming that 15 hour old crescent is over land or over a person on a boat). The further north or south you are, the longer it will be before you see the first sliver. For instance, let's say that someone in Bogotá, Columbia (South America) can see that 15 hour old moon. That same night a person in Santa Cruz, the southern most province (state) in Argentina (due south, but WAY south) will not be able to see it. It just isn't possible due to the increasing visualization angle of the first crescent moon. 59

The person in Argentina may see it the following evening, perhaps even the evening after that. Likewise, if conjunction occurs in a place where a person in Morocco, Africa can first see the crescent, a person in Greenland (nearly due north, but WAY north) will not be able to see it due to the increasing visualization angle of the first crescent. The person in Greenland may see it the following evening, perhaps even the evening after that. Here are two diagrams that show EXACTLY what I am saying. Below, the person in Morocco, Africa CAN see the first crescent which is first visible in the Indian Ocean, just south of tip of India, denoted with the small orange circle, but Greenland cannot. Below shows the increasing visualization angle of the crescent (brownish orange and red) the following evening. Greenland, which is well above the visible face of the earth on this map, will not see the crescent based on the color mapping in the upper right hand corner. Greenland will not see the first crescent until 2 nights after it was seen in Morocco. While the first visible crescent suffers from this fact, due to its small size and diminished light factor, the quarter phases of the moon, including the full moon do not. The full moon will be seen by every one as far north and south as possible on the same night. The only folks who might not are those at the extremes of earth above the Arctic Circle in the winter, or below the Antarctic Circle in their winter (which would be our summer north of the equator). 60

What I'm saying is that while the first sliver may be first seen anywhere from 15 to 72 hours after conjunction, this in no way affects the visualization of the full moon or any other of the quarter phases. The precise full moon (as Brian put it) means the astronomical full moon, and while there is some deviation, the lunar cycle is 29.5 days long. Half of that is days. Meaning that it is a universally physical impossibility for a full moon to occur 12 or 16 days after conjunction. The math simply does not work that way. Now the moon can appear full for 2-3 nights, but only ONE of them is the actual full moon, the others are 98-99% full (on either the waxing or waning side), which most cannot discern with the naked eye. So looking full and being full are two different things. But I digress. I'm in the footnotes still aren't I? Wow, I should not have signed off 14 pages ago. My bad. ' An example of a possible 12th day Full Moon: 28th Dark moon conjunction occurs at 2 a.m. (i.e., approximately 8 hours into the 28th day) 29th Continued dark moon 30th Continued dark moon 1st Fresh crescent seen at 7:30 p.m. (65.5 hours after dark moon conjunction) 12th Full moon proper occurs at approximately 8 p.m. [being days (approx. 330 hours) from conjunction-- 2 hours into the 12th day from the fresh crescent] An example of a possible 16th day Full Moon: 30th Dark moon conjunction occurs at 5:30 a.m. 1st Fresh crescent seen at 7:30 p.m. (14 hours after dark moon conjunction) 16th Full moon proper occurs at approximately 11:30 p.m. [15.8 days (approx. 378 hours) from conjunction--5.5 hours into the 16th day from the fresh crescent] ***days are reckoned sunset to sunset--the above examples being based on an approximate 6 p.m. sunset) BACK Where and on what date did this occur? Without that information, this is not evidence, it is just someone writing numbers and words. Oh, and for the record, the days are not reckoned from sunset to sunset. This is a Babylonian invention that was adopted by the descendants of the rabbis who refused to return to the promised land after the end of their Babylonian captivity, who later taught it to the Khazars, who later became known as "the Jews." 62 6. See our article Determining Elevation Sheaf Day & Pentecost BACK I'm not even going to bother going here. You can if you wish, the link works. I have already proven that wavesheaf is Abib 16 on pages and 58 above. Brian's study will attempt to prove something else (primarily that it occurs the day after a satyrday on the first day of the week (sunday) that inevitably will occur during the seven day feast. Fall for it if you will, but I've shown you how to rightly divide the Word of truth and how to examine the evidence. 7. Here is some of the documentation, collected by William Jones, of the seventh day of the week being Sabbath as evidenced by the names given the 7th day in the weekly cycle: I have NO idea why Brian had to offer this when he already made this point (as flimsy, weak and desperate as it was) at the bottom of page 39 above.
