1 One Year Bible Intercessors... Today Is Palm Sunday! Blessed is He Who Comes In The Name of The Lord! "Jesus Enters Jerusalem on Palm Sunday" (Watercolor by James Tissot, circa ) You can read the Gospel accounts of His Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem: Matthew 21:1-11, Mark 11:1-10, Luke 19:29-38 and in John 12: In the Gospel of Luke, you will find as Jesus came to the descent of the Mount of Olives on Palm Sunday, He was overcome with emotion... "Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it..." ("The Triumphal Entry" Luke 19:37-44 NKJV)

"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, 'Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!'" Thursday, April 2nd, is Maundy Thursday, the Christian Observance of the Lord's Supper and His Agony in the Garden...The word, "Maundy means "Command," in Latin, and refers to the command to "Love and serve one another," that Jesus gave to His disciples at the Last Supper

4 Friday, April 3rd, at sundown, is the Night Before Passover or "Erev Pesach." the Jewish Passover" (Watercolor by James Tissot, circa ) "Jesus and This Friday is also Good Friday...The Day of our Savior's Great Eternal Gift.

The Jewish Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread is observed for eight days, ending on Saturday April 11th at sundown. This Week's Daily Passover Readings:

7 Friday, April 3rd Ta'anit Bechorot or "Fast of the Firstborn," Erev Pesach/Feast of Passover Morning. This fast commemorates the salvation of the Israelite firstborn during the tenth plague God sent to kill all of the Egyptian's firstborn, man and beast. "And it came to pass at midnight that the Lord struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of livestock." ("The Tenth Plague: Death of the Firstborn" Exodus 12:29 NKJV) Unlike most Jewish fast days, only firstborns are required to fast on Ta'anit Bechorot, the Fast of the Firstborn. Torah Readings: Exodus 32:11-34:10 includes: "The Gold Calf," "The Command to Leave Sinai," "The Promise of God's Presence," "Moses Makes New Tablets," and "The Covenant Renewed." About six years ago, to learn more about our Judeo-Christian roots, we added into the existing "One Year Bible" weekly letter, the traditional Shabbat Torah/Old Testament and Haftarah/Prophets Readings read by observant Jews worldwide. We also include the Brit Chadashah or New Testament Readings read by Messianic Jews. This easy-to-use format gives us a "heads-up" for daily Scripture readings, and tells us what the weekly Shabbat Torah readings are for Friday and Saturday. We can read and pray through the Bible and Torah readings, and compare their teachings to world, national, state and local headlines; as well as to situations in our daily personal and business lives!
