1 The Testimony of Yeshua John 17:7-8 "Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You. "For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them John 17:14 "I have given them Your word; John 17:17 "Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. John 18:37-38 For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice." Pilate said to Him, "What is truth?" John 5:46-47 "For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. "But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?" Christ recognized Moses, and believed he was a prophet. In reference to Lazarus: Luke 16:31 "But he said to him, 'If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.'" The standing testimony of the written word is presented as greater evidence of truth than a miracle of raising one from the dead. This is the testimony of Yeshua. This testimony stretches from Genesis to Revelation and is in complete unity. We have the Law of Moses, and the word of the prophets, but there is a further division Luke 24:44 Then He said to them, "These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me." But Yeshua refers even to Psalms as the law: John 10:34-35 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, ye are gods? If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came (and the scripture cannot be broken) Broken: dissolved or destroyed This personal testimony of Yeshua reveals God s words as inspired, having authority, and Infallibility. 1 P a g e

2 God reveals Himself through: 1. The heavens 2. Yeshua 3. The written word Psalms 19:1-2 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. Through his son: Hebrews 1:1-2 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son Numbers 12:6-8 Then He said, "Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, make Myself known to him in a vision; I speak to him in a dream. Not so with My servant Moses; He is faithful in all My house. I speak with him face to face, Even plainly, and not in dark sayings; And he sees the form of the LORD. Why then were you not afraid to speak against My servant Moses? One thing that is constant is that God spoke. God committed Himself to His written word: The revelation of disclosing himself How was the word given? 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God Inspiration: theopneustos-god Breathed 2Timothy 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, (gramma) which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. gramma:-that which has been inscribed John 7:15-16 And the Jews marveled, saying, How knoweth this man letters (gramma), having never learned? All scripture (graphe) is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: graphe is the collections of all writings Holy scriptures: hieros gramma-sacred letters-referring to Tanakh 2 P a g e

3 Hiero-glyphics- letters inscribed on Egyptian monuments Scripture-graphe-from which we get geography, photography-something written or recorded The foundation of our faith is written testimony How did it come? 2Peter 1:21..holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. Moved: ferw - phero driven as wind in the sails of a ship Acts 27:15 we let her drive -human element is brushed aside-driven rather by the power of inspiration 2Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation private interpretation: private-idios-one's own-only used once as "private" interpretation: epilusis-nowhere else in scripture-letting loose, unfolding-in classical greek as dogs being let loose on a chase Scripture: graphe- it didn't come into being of its own unfolding-by the will of man The Torah is genuine-actually written by the One whose name it bears It s authentic: if it s matters of fact actually occurred It s authoritative: if they are both genuine and authentic Authority gives credence as to the Word s spiritual power and effectiveness. 1Thessalonians 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe. 2Peter 3:1-2 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: Exodus 24:4 And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel 3 P a g e

4 Deuteronomy 31:9 And Moses wrote this law, and delivered it unto the priests the sons of Levi What is Torah profitable for? Psalm 19:7-10 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. All words that Torah uses to describe itself. How did Paul see it in application? Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise The church Fathers: Who were they? Marion -144CE Torah was revealed through individuals and writers over time. This does not mean that information given earlier negates previous covenants from God The Bible is consistent from Genesis to Revelation and brings the same message - Yeshua our cornerstone-a unified Torah Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the ages were framed by a word of God, so that the things seen should not have come into being out of the things that appear. Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.
