God s instruction manual for mankind All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. II Timothy 3:16-17 B. Written by God to man For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost II Peter 1:21 C. Scripture cannot be broken Jesus said in John 10:35, the scripture cannot be broken. D. It was written to teach us about God and to teach us how to live successful, happy lives E. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. 10. Thou shalt not covet. VIII. Two great commandments Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Matthew 22:36-40 A. Love the Lord thy God B. (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (That is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
