2 God s word is the sword of the Spirit and in spiritual combat, which we all face (2 Tim. 2:3-4), we need a firm grip on the very words of God, that we may take our stand against the devil s schemes armed with the same weapon our Lord Jesus used in confronting the enemy the word of God itself. (Matt. 4:1-11). This booklet of verses to memorize comes from the New King James Version, and was originally designed for memorization by fathers and sons together pursuing the holiness of mind and body to which followers of Jesus Christ are called. You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body (1 Cor. 6:20). Try to memorize a page per week and try to learn the verses cumulatively. That is, on the first week, recite 1; the next week, recite 1 & 2; the next week, recite 1, 2, & 3, and so on. If you re having a tough time, try writing out the first letter of each word of the verse as a memory tool ( Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ = B o t L J C ) You may wish to take advantage of the free Bible Memory software at To complete this booklet successfully, do three things: 1) Pray for help. 2) Set up a weekly schedule of recitation to another person. 3) Reward your children for completion of each page as well as the whole collection. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions, And my sin is always before me.
