2 THE SOUNDING OF THE SHOFAR Why We Sound The Shofar Joel 2:15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: Nehemiah 4:20 In what place therefore ye hear the sound of the trumpet, resort ye thither unto us: our God shall ght for us. Numbers 10:9 And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies. Psalm 150:3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: 2 Samuel 6:15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up THE ARK of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet. 1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise rst: Revelation 1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet. The Blessing (Before the shofar is blown) Blessed and deserving of praise are You, LORD our God, Creator and Ruler of the universe who makes us holy with Your commandments and have given us Your only begotten Son, Yahushua The Messiah (Jesus The Christ) and have given us the mitzvah (commandment) of hearing the voice of the shofar. THE FOUR CRIES OF THE SHOFAR Tekiah! The single long blast. Shevarim! The succession of three short broken blasts. Teruah! The nine short broken blasts. Tekiah Gedolah! The nal and longest held blast. 1

3 THE AMIDAH THE STANDING PRAYERS (19 PRAYERS) MARK And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. MATTHEW 5 23Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; rst be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. Blessed are you, Oh Lord our God and God of our fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob, the great, mighty and awesome God, the Most High God who bestows steadfast love, grace, mercy, kindness and goodness. The master and creator of all things, visible and invisible, who remembers the atonement of Your only begotten Son, Yahushua the Messiah and Saviour of the world, whom You will bring again in clouds of glory for Your Name s sake, Yahushua our redeemer and Lord, blessed be He. Oh King, Helper, Savior and Shield. Blessed are You, Oh Lord, the shield of Abraham. You Oh Lord are mighty forever, You raise the dead, and by Your own arm You save, for You are mighty in salvation. There is none like You Oh Lord, shield of Abraham. Blessed be the Lord who is to be praised. Blessed be the Lord who is praised for all eternity. Blessed are You Oh Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has given us The Way of salvation in Messiah Yahushua. Amen The Torah When the ark would travel, Moses would say Arise O Lord and let Your enemies be scattered, let them that hate You ee from You. For out of Zion shall go forth the Torah and the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem, blessed is He who gave His Torah to His people Israel in His Holyness. Amen. 2

4 THE WORD OF GOD, THE TORAH MADE FLESH (The Torah is lifted up) Yahushua said If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me. Behold, The Word of God! John 1:1 In the beginning was The Word, and The Word was with God, and The Word was God and The Word was made esh and tabernacled among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. Psalm 119:89 The Word of God is perfect and settled in heaven forever. Psalm 119:103 The Word of God is sweeter than the honeycomb. Psalm 119:105 The Word of God is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. Proverbs 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light. Psalm 119:142 Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth. Hebrews 4:12 The Word of God is alive and powerful, sharper then any two edged sword, piercing and dividing between the soul and spirit and the joints and marrow and is able to decide between thoughts and intents of the heart. Matthew 5:18 Truly I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, not one jot or one tittle shall in no way pass from the Torah, till all be ful lled. Whosoever anawls the least of these commandments and teaches others shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven but whoever keeps and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Psalm 40:7 Behold, I come in the volume of the scroll, it is written of Me. John 5:46-47 Had you believed Moses you would have believed in Me, for he wrote of Me, but if you do not believe what Moses has written how will you believe or understand My words? Proverbs 4:2 I give you good instruction, forsake not My Torah. 1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. John 14:15 If you love Me, keep My commandments. Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Yahushua (Jesus). Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 3

5 THE ROCK ON WHICH WE STAND Psalm 27 1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my esh, they stumbled and fell. Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be con dent. One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in His temple. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in His pavilion: in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me; He shall set me up upon A ROCK. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacri ces of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD. Matthew 7 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of Mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a Rock: And the rain descended, and the oods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a Rock. Exodus And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by Me, and thou shalt stand upon a Rock: And it shall come to pass, while My glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the Rock, and will cover thee with My hand while I pass by: Isaiah 12 2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; He also is become my salvation. Matthew 1 21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call His name Yahushua (Jesus): for He shall save His people from their sins. 4

6 THE LIGHTING OF THE CANDLES Why We Light The Candles Genesis 1:3-5 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. 1 Thessalonians 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the Day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin. John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. Matthew 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. The Blessing (Before lighting the candles) Blessed and deserving of praise are You, O LORD our God, Creator and Ruler of the universe who has set us apart with Your commandments and Your Spirit, and have instructed us to be the light of the world. (After lighting the candles) Deserving of praise are You, O LORD our God, Eternal Light of All, for You have kept us alive, sustained us, and privileged us to reach this Sabbath. May the festival lights always remind us of Your power to heal and forgive, for it was by a woman (Eve) that the light went out and it was by a woman (Mary) that the light returned. May it remind us of Your love that is always available to us, even when we do not deserve it. May the light of our faith in You always shine brightly in our hearts, and give us courage equal to whatever circumstances we may face. Bless us and all those we love with life, health and peace. We also pray for those that may hate us, we ask You to let Your love overcome them, that we may all live in Your peace, behold how good and pleasent it is for brethern to dwell together in unity..amen 5

7 THE SHEMA Why We Say The Shema We declare our allegiance and love for the One True God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the King of Israel our Redeemer and He is One. We remind ourselves that we are commanded to love one another, the citizens of His Kingdom which is forever. Deuteronomy 6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. Leviticus 19:34 But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God. Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the rst and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Mark 12:30 And Jesus answered him, The rst of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the rst commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. Luke 10:27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. THE SHEMA Why We Face Towards Jerusalem 1 Kings 8:30 And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: and hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place: and when thou hearest, forgive. Daniel 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime. 6

8 THE SHEMA The central message of the Shema Yisrael is proclaiming the absolute unity and sovereignty of God over and in the entire universe. (FACING JERUSALEM) Sh ma Yisrael Adonai Elohaynu Adonai Echad. Barukh Shem k vod malkhuto l olam va-ed Yahushua Ha Moshiach hoo Adonai Hear, Oh Israel, the LORD is our God, the LORD is One. Blessed be His Name whose glorious kingdom is forever and ever Yahushua The Messiah, He is LORD. V ahavta et Adonai And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And you shall love your nieghbor as yourself. And these words that I command you today shall be in your heart. And you shall teach them diligently to your children, and you shall speak of them when you sit at home, and when you walk along the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up. And you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes. And you shall write them on the door posts of your house and on your gates. Deuteronomy 11:13 And it shall come to pass if you surely listen to the commandments that I command you today, to love the Lord your God, and to serve Him with all your heart and all your soul, That I will give rain to your land, the early and the late rains, that you may gather in your grain, your wine and your oil. Deuteronomy 5:10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love Me and keep My commandments. John 14:15 If ye love Me, keep My commandments. John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love Me, he will keep My words: and My Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, He is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love Him and keep His commandments to a thousand generations; 7

9 1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous. Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. THE BLESSINGS OVER OUR WIVES PROVERBS 31:10-31 A wife of noble character who can nd? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full con dence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. She selects wool and ax and works with eager hands. She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. She gets up while it is still dark; she provides food for her family and portions for her servant girls. She considers a eld and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. She sees that her trading is pro table, and her lamp does not go out at night. In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her ngers. She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet. She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in ne linen and purple. Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land. She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes. She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her; Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is eeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. 10 WIVES BLESSING OVER THIER HUSBANDS Psalm 112 Praise the LORD. Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who nds great delight in His commandments. His children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man. Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely, who conducts his affairs with justice. Surely he will never be shaken; a righteous man will be remembered forever. He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD. His heart is secure, he will have no fear; in the end he will look in triumph on his foes. He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor, his righteousness endures forever; his horn will be lifted high in honor. The wicked man will see and be vexed, he will gnash his teeth and waste away; the longings of the wicked will come to nothing. (May This Blessing be upon...*your husband or*your future husband) 9

11 THE BLESSINGS OVER OUR SONS & DAUGHTERS May the Lord protect and defend you, May He always shield you from shame, May you come to be in Israel as a shining name. May you be like Joshua and like Esther, May you be deserving of praise, Strengthen them O Lord, And keep them from the strangers ways May God bless you and grant you long lives May the Lord ful ll our Sabbath prayer for you. May God make you good husbands and wives, May he bring you spouses who will care for you. May the Lord protect and defend you, May the Lord preserve you from pain Favor them O Lord, with happiness and peace Oh hear our Sabbath prayer.
