Isaac c. Jacob d. Joseph Genesis 1:26 (ESV) Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. Genesis 1:27 (ESV) So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Genesis 3:15 (ESV) I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her Offspring; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel. The Faith of Abraham Genesis 12:1-3 Genesis 12:1 (ESV) Now the Lord said to Abram, Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you. Genesis 12:2 (ESV) And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.

2 Genesis 12:3 (ESV) I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed. 1. A Calling Genesis 12:1 (ESV) Now the Lord said to Abram Acts 7:2 (ESV) Brothers and fathers, hear me. The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he lived in Haran Joshua 24:2 (ESV) And Joshua said to all the people, Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, Long ago, your fathers lived beyond the Euphrates, Terah, the father of Abraham and of Nahor; and they served other gods. 1 Corinthians 1:26 (ESV) For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 1 Corinthians 1:27 (ESV) But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 1 Corinthians 1:28 (ESV) God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, 1 Corinthians 1:29 (ESV) so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. 1 Corinthians 1:30 (ESV) And because of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, 1 Corinthians 1:31 (ESV) so that, as it is written, Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord. 2. A Commitment Genesis 12:1 (ESV) Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you.

3 Genesis 12:4 (ESV) So Abram went, as the Lord had told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran. Genesis 12:5 (ESV) And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people that they had acquired in Haran, and they set out to go to the land of Canaan. 5 Understanding Genesis Meaning: Genesis means beginning, generations or birth.
