2 RECAP The (True) Kingdom Worshipper The Kingdom worshipper is one who has decided to be totally devoted to the overall approved standards, pursuit, and intimacy required to maintain a true relationship with God

3 RECAP WORSHIP is the means by which God and man interact in intimate devotion with each other PRAISE is the means by which man gives God Glory in return God manifest His Glory to us as he sees fit

4 RECAP WHAT IS GLORY? Glory is an Attribute (Property) that belongs only to God Glory is the sum total to who God is, what He Does, what he is like Glory is the Definitive Display of His Identity, Character and Presence Glory is a manifestation of God Himself

5 RECAP A Person Devoted to God chooses to separate themselves unto an Exclusive wholehearted relationship with Him Exclusive means a person is willing to cut out or separate from anything, any person, any habit, any choice. That may play a part in disrupting their relationship with God

6 RECAP MADE FOR HIS GLORY (last week) When God Made Man He Placed Him in an Environment of Glory God s Glory May Manifest in Spiritual or Physical Realm We Get His Glory by - Asking for it, Waiting for it, Seeking it, Expecting it

7 Defining the term To Long : To desire greatly or yearn for something, especially something that is difficult or seem impossible to obtain Defining to Lament : strong sorrow and remorse for something or a situation

8 Israel did NOT maintain an EXCLUSIVE Relationship w/god Israel allowed a disruption in their relationship Judges 2:11-15(NET)

9 Matters of the Flesh became more Important than God s Presence Israel made allowances for the worship of Baal & Asherah

10 Baal, Sun God (Symbol: bull head and man s torso) Power, Youthful Strength & Virility Represents the imagery of living life according to one s own strength, choices, pleasure and ability. I am my own God or I want to live independent of God Gen 3:4-6

11 Asherah, Moon Goddess (Symbol: wooden image, pole, tree) Human Nature, Human Productivity An imagery of man s daily resolve to please a depraved human nature, sensual desires and works of evil thought, of intent or of the flesh Life should revolve around me and my wants or I deserve to be happy Mark 7:21-23

13 God is always willing to Reconnect. He s normally waiting on US Therefore the Lord longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the LORD is a God of justice. How blessed are all those who long for Him. O people in Zion, inhabitant in Jerusalem, you will weep no longer. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears it, He will answer you. Isa 30:18-19

14 Fulfill Our Longing by Realigning to His Glory/Presence - 1Sam 7:3 Determine to Give God All of YOU Get rid of Things that are causing Your Disruption Dedicate (Devote) your whole heart to God And determine to Worship only HIM Repent of any Offenses

15 I love you, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies. Ps 18:1-4 (ESV)
