Singular possessive: Medusa s head. Plural nouns ending in s or es usually become possessive by the addition of an apostrophe. Plural possessive: Gorgons powers Plural nouns not ending in s or es form the possessive by the addition of an apostrophe followed by an s. Plural possessive: Mice s habitat Do NOT use an apostrophe to form the plural of simple nouns. For example, the plural of stereo is stereos NOT stereo s. Practice: Because plural and possessive forms often sound alike when pronounced, writers sometimes mistake the appropriate form.
