Wholesome Learning A Multi-Level Bible Curriculum with a Focus on the Biblical Languages Volume 1: Part 4:Bride of Messiah By Evonne Mandella Copyright 2009
Thank you for purchasing our Multi-Level Bible Curriculum with a Biblical Languages Focus! Your whole family will enjoy learning the Bible together with this Multi-Age Bible Curriculum which combines the best of the Jewish Roots of the Faith combined with Classical Education's Greek Focus- all in a convenient E- Curriculum format. Each Thematic Unit extends approximately 9 weeks. This is Part 4, of Volume 1. Volume 1, if chosen to be purchased in its entirety, will consists of four 9- week long thematic studies. Therefore, each complete volume will be a full school year long, consisting of 36 weeks of exciting Bible Study. Each Part (as in Part 1, 2, 3, and 4) can be conveniently purchased separately to meet your individualized needs. It can also supplement your preexisting curriculum and/or may be easily adapted for Congregational (either One or Two Day format), Co-Op, or Bible Camp settings. See the easy Adaptation below! This fourth thematic unit consists of a study of the Bride of Messiah in the Bible. You will be blessed as your family explores the Ancient Jewish Wedding and how this knowledge will affect your walk with the Lord. Other subjects throughout the the year include the Feasts of the LORD and Hebrew Names, and Messianic Prophecies. You will find that each unit will: Be Easy to Teach Have Hands on Activities Require Little Preparation Provide a Lovely Keepsake Biblical Story Book Have a Biblical Languages Focus Develop Confidence Building Skills Build Trust in God Congratulations- You are laying a Great Foundation in God's Word for your family! The Multi-age cycle allows someone who begins (for example) in preschool/ kindergarten to study 2 years of Hebrew Bible Study, then 2 years of Greek Bible study, than go through Hebrew and Greek twice again at levels that are age appropriate. Different assignments are offered for students in different grade levels. You are welcome to use only the Hebrew Thematic Studies, or the Greek Thematic Studies, to meet your individualized needs. However, the whole family- including Mom or Dad, will be enjoying the Meat of the Word together. You may easily begin at any grade level. Simply follow the Easy Instructions denoted for each Grade Level Grouping, including Preschool/ Kindergarten. I have entitled 1 st through 3 rd grade Primary, 4th-7 th grade Elementary, and 8th-12 th Junior. For preschool and primary students, parents may read the Bible aloud. I suggest to use this curriculum each week on Thursday and Friday. Friday will be more hands on. The Suggested Activity Section titled Connection" will provide an opportunity to move the knowledge your family has learned from your head to your heart. Make Friday night your Family night - and plan to serve a special meal. Friday evening at sundown is the beginning of the traditional Biblical Sabbath. During your Friday meal, have all family members reflect on what you have learned in your Bible study that week, and express your thankfulness to
God for what He has provided for each of you. Review Read Hebrew Today, - Level one and Two with primary, elementary, and Junior students at least twice a week- perhaps Tuesday and Wednesday. Preschool/ Kindergarten students should review Now I Know my Alephbet, at least once a week. Have fun enhancing your skills! Some tips for using Read Hebrew Today with a group. When you see the Hebrew letter, simply say this letter says, in place of the Hebrew letter. For example, B Says b, would be said: this letter says b. This allows even a teacher who is a beginner at Hebrew, to teach the language successfully and with ease. In large school or congregational settings- simply walk to flashcards slowly around the group after each sound is introduced. Either call on one student at a time to state the correct answer or have the whole group wait until all have viewed the complete card, and then respond in unison. Optional: Use each week's verse as a memory verse. Review on the following Monday through Thursday. (For Congregational and Co-Op settings review at end of class- before the closing prayer). Permission to reproduce is granted for your entire family and for a Church group of up to ten people. For Authentic Jewish Recipes you may visit: hebrewpodcasts.com Optional: Mature students can enjoy learning to speak Hebrew for free, from native speakers, at At the end of the unit, staple the Bible storybook pages together that your students drew and colored. You will have created an original Keepsake Bible Storybook for your students to enjoy for years to come. Schedule Overview: Each Day 1 Begin with Prayer Read Scripture Devotional Answer Questions Coloring Page Retell Story Close with Prayer Each Day 2 Begin with Prayer Junior: Verses
Hands on Learning Connection Close with Prayer Adaptation to One Day Congregational or Co-op Setting: Always peek ahead to see which supplies are required, and make copies as needed. The First Week begin (after prayer) with Now I Know my Alephbet. The following week use Read Hebrew Today. Go back and forth between the two that same way, until the unit is complete. Now I Know my Alephbet, teaches the Hebrew Alphabet names and sounds. Read Hebrew Today, teaches students (and the teacher) to read Hebrew right away, without any previous training in the subject. Remove Connection section. Teacher is to call up a couple of students to retell story to the class using their Coloring Book page. Also, instruct the rest of the class, to retell the story to their family using the Coloring Book page. Adaptation to Two Day Congregational or Co-op Setting: This is the same as the homeschool schedule, excepts it differs in the following areas. You are to remove the Connection section. Teacher is to call up a couple of students to retell story to the class. Instruct the rest of the class, to retell story to their family using the Comic Book page. Begin class (after prayer) with Now I Know my Alephbet, to begin the Day One class. Begin (after prayer) with Read Hebrew Today, during the Day Two class. Optional Activities- To Assist in Learning and to get the Wiggles out: 1) Bible Verse Scavenger Hunt. Write each word of a verse from that session's Bible portion on individual pieces of paper. Teacher hides them around the room. Students search for the words. When one is found, students stands at the front of the room with it. Have students finish by standing in order and reading the Bible verse aloud. For smaller groups simply place each word in order on a floor or table, then read aloud in order. If repeated, this activity also works as a review for the previous verses. 2) Alephbet Scavenger Hunt: The Teacher hides the Alephbet Flashcards around the room. The students search for them. When found, students should put Flashcards on the floor leaning on a wall, or on a table. When finished, see how fast you can put them in order! Read the names of the Hebrew Letters aloud. Suggested Activities: 1) Each session sing song/s as worship to God. Choose songs that are your family's or Congregation's favorites! 2) Sing Alephbet Song to the tune of the Bear Came over the Mountain, to begin Hebrew Learning. Song: Alef, Bet, Gimel, Dalet, Hei, Vav, Zayin, Chet, Tet, Yod, Kaf, Lamed, Mem, Nun, (Repeat tune from beginning) Samech, Ayin, Pei, Fei,
Tzadei, Kof, Reish, Shin, Sin, aaaand Tav (Repeat tune from beginning) I know my Alpehbet, I know my Alpehbet, I know my Alephbet, and now you know it too, and now you know it too! Dedication: This Curriculum is dedicated to Charis Ahava Mandella, my darling girl. God loves you and so does Mommy! Celebration Time Bible Camp Adaptation: (suggested title) Use only lessons 1-5 for a One Week Bible Camp. Begin each session with Now I Know my Alephbet, (after prayer). Finish each session with Read Hebrew Today, (before closing prayer). Assign students simple Jewish recipes to cook at home, to bring to a final evening of Celebration. Invite all parents and Congregational Members. All ages can learn together! Gather the appropriate number of volunteers to assist the Main teacher. Gather supplies for Bible costumes- such as old bed sheets with holes cut in the top for heads to be poke through. Choose two Bible stories you have studied, and have your children reenact them in front of the parents and the Congregation. Instruct the students not to to speak during this reenactment. The teacher (in Bible costume) will simply read (narrate) the appropriate Bible Passage, while select children simply mimic the actions of the story. This allows for little preparation time. If you have a number of students, who have learned Hebrew especially well; have those students read the Bible verse (that pertains to that particular Bible Story) in Hebrew, before the reenactment begins. You will need a Bible written in Hebrew or Old Testament Interlinear Bible. Have these students be in costume. Optional: Glue the Hebrew verse onto a Bible Scroll, which you have made using 3 pieces of construction paper taped together. Place 2 dowels at each end, and attach them with clear tape to the construction paper. Roll up as you would a scroll. Have student read from scroll, with the Hebrew verse glued upon it. Lead all ages in reciting the memory verses they have learned in front of the group. Say the verse along with the group. Perhaps the Congregational Leader (Pastor) would like to give a Message and Gospel Presentation. During the end of the Service, fellowship around the Jewish Meals that the children have provided. Have children assist in serving. Children in costume should remain in costume during this time. Enjoy this unforgettable Bible Camp at really very little cost! See below for sample letter to parents. Create or purchase your own award certificates. Fill in your Church Name, the child's name, and whichever accomplishment you wish to recognize. Awards can be used for recitation of memory verses, attendance, or even bringing a friend.

Perhaps you would like to learn these skills yourself? Simply contact us to volunteer and you can learn along with your children as a family! Celebration Time Bible Camp! will include Biblical Dramas, Hands-on Activities, Memory Verses, Games, and much more! A Special Celebration will conclude the our week with Jewish Food, a Biblical Drama, Recitation of Bible Verses, and Hebrew Reading! Don't miss this wonderful opportunity! Yours Truly, [Your Name]
Easy Reading Tips: Hebrew is read from right to left. Vowels are written under or after the consonant. Ch makes a guttural sound as if you were clearing your throat. (example: Bach and Loch) The vowel sheva, written as 4 is a pronounced with a short i lightly and quickly. However, sheva has no sound at all when placed at the end of a syllable that consists of at least consonants. Note: When a vowel is written at the end of a word under the letter Chet (which makes the ch sound), say the vowel first, then the consonant. This will be opposite the normal way of consonant first, then vowel. Example: H1 would both be pronounced ŏch correctly at the end of a word, while chŏ would be incorrect. After enjoying each Bible session, review the Hebrew Alphabet and vowels sounds until you know them well. Do this by simply reading the name of each letter and vowel, and saying the sound of each letter. This will help put the Hebrew you have learned into your permanent memory. Have the pronunciation guide handy, to help you sound out the Hebrew words. Print Wholesome Learning pages 1-26 first. Next, follow printing instructions for Now I Know My Alephbet, and Read Hebrew Today separately.

בחר baw-khar' choice, chosen Lesson 1- Day One Begin with prayer! Read Deuteronomy 7:6 Optional~ Read Whole Chapter. New Testament Fulfillment: Read Matthew 22:14 Devotional: You are chosen! You are the choice of our Father in heaven! You are somebody special. Did you know that in times long ago the Daddy of a son would choose just the right special girl to marry his son? Would you trust your Daddy to choose who you would marry? How about your Mommy? Well, do you know there is someone who choose a bride for His Son that would never make a mistake? Can you guess you that person is? That's right~ it's God! God the Father chose you to have a special relationship with His Son Jesus Christ. And.. that makes you special indeed! Elementary/Junior: What do these passages tell us about our relationship with God? How do you think it shows that believers are the Bride of Christ? Primary/Elementary: Create your own Bible coloring page! Draw what you remember from the story. Child narrates (retells in his own words) Bible story to preschool student or family. Optional: Preschool child colors in pictures. Peek ahead and gather supplies for day two. Close with prayer! Lesson 1- Day 2
Begin with prayer! All ages: Hands on Learning- Explain to children that as Believers, God is there Heavenly Father. Their Heavenly Father chose them for a special place in God's family- that makes them royalty spiritually! To remember the lesson of being chosen to be royalty do the following activities: Gather sticks for each child from outdoors. Wrap each with tin foil to make a King's Sceptor. Decorate as desired with shape cut-outs glued or taped on Sceptor. Make one scroll~ write each child's name upon it. Tie together with yarn.use for Connection activities. Connection: The parent or teacher should in a "Royal Manner" pronounce it is time to open the scroll to see who was "chosen" to come to the King's Ball. Read each child's name and have kids cheer each other on as each name is called. Then~ have fun pretending to be at a Grand Ball! Close with Prayer.
מכר meh'-ker value, price Lesson 2- Day One Begin with prayer! Read Proverbs 31:10 Optional~ Read Whole Chapter. New Testament Fulfillment: Read 1 Corinthians 7:23 Devotional: How much are you worth my friend? You might be thinking~ I am human being~ you can't put a price on me. And you are right and wrong. You see, you are not a toy or a piece of clothes that one can purchase at a store at the mall. You are special~ and much more important than any ole' common item to be found at the corner store. But, what you might not have realized is that you did have a price. You see, long ago the groom had to pay a special price set by the Father of the bride. Did you know that this bride price was paid for you. Jesus wanted to have a relationship with you so much, that he allowed His himself to be crucified on the cross. His death, and His blood, paid our price. Even though we are sinners, through God's grace, God the Father sees our price as above even rubies. This is because He sees us through the shed blood of Jesus~ the sinless Son of God. You are of great value! Close with prayer!
